The first song is probably the best live solo Lennon performance I’ve seen. Some of those early solo concerts where he had a dozen or more people on stage who looked more like they belonged in a cult than a band were just terrible.
There is a video where Frank Zappa and the Mothers wanted to jam with John Lennon and when they got their chance of course he brought Yoko and of course she had to be included and of course she ruined it. It might have been a classic recording had it not been for Yoko getting a live microphone and making stupid noises. "Where I come from - London" Really John? - you don't come from London. Plus - all these comments about how Yoko split John from his family, well John was the one who left them. A man who leaves his family is responsible for his own actions. Julian was Johns child and he abandoned the child , the blame lies solely on his weak shoulders.
I'm pretty sure he moved to London right when the Beatles were taking off and stayed there until he and Yoko moved to NY in the early '70s. Every Beatles album was recorded in London.

shirley mclaine really impressed me here! what a pure energy and natural empathy and heart. I recorded some of her words as samples. john and yoko, so happy to see this next Dick Cavett interview of theirs. I think Shirley, John, and Yoko could have a long and equal discussion as she was participating in campaigning for McGovern to represent the needed orientation of government to the service of the people, and not to anti-human anti-nature corporations and international banks. --- I see the potential relevance here, of the deportation. Like the U.S. govt. was saying we will either ship you out or we will kill you/send a christian gun enthusiast slimeball to shoot you and take the blame and fall. why would he be such a target of the Establishment? the same reason as many other activist voices in the 60's 70's and again today in the 10's of new millennium - they were coherent and honest. The christian Inquisition of any non-christians still continues today against those of us that speak on levels beyond their cage of lies and fear. the men like who shot Lennon, and whose values still cage this culture believe 90% what the Vatican Inquisition believed when they killed for 500 years in Europe, any non-Christians they couldn't convince with fear. 73 books of original Catholic bible - 66 maintained in Protestant Reformation. only a 10% difference in consciousness between the European Inquisitors and the U.S. Protestants, today. so they continue killing and fearing and hating any who remember Nature, and who have natural power and will to live. John represents a needed coherency, and his philosophy and thoughts recorded in his songs will eventually be part with those of us today, who finally overcome the unsanity and anti-nature of christian fundamentalism, and anti-Earth alienism mindset of those worshipping an unsensable overlord, while forgetting their oneness with Earth and Sun.
We always hear “LOVE IS BLIND”. I thought Yoko is pretty…BUT…i think “LOVE IS DEAF”. Who on earth with good hearing could stand Yoko’s voice singing???
Exactly! All four Beatles have been saying that as well for the last 40 or more years. All this crap about the breakup and Yoko and all the hatred is a real lesson in human nature and the interpretation of events... and the dismissal of the actual participants testimony and how it adds up to distorted history. George said once, "We didn't hate Yoko, we just didn't love her like John did!"
It was really good to see John Lennon and Shirley McLean. They are both true talents. And then we have Yoko yo-yo a complete waste of money and time totally worthless.
What a weird chemistry was there between those people?? I think we could all imagine John Lennon with a much better girlfriend, right? But still, we have to respect his choice ...
I don't hate her for breaking up the Beatles because that wasn't her fault. They were breaking apart each other by fighting all the time. I hate her for all the things she has done to Julian Lennon. Stopping him from getting or holding onto anything from John.
Did John Really Think Yoko could sing ? Omg ; her voice is a Nightmare.. They dont even start a Real Subject of Conversation ; she just starts rambling about 10 different issues " .
In this heavily PC society that we find ourselves in today there's no way their song would have gotten air play. Either on tv, or radio. I find it strange how things seemingly were "freer" over the air waves back then, but not now. There's more stations now than then. But they were "freer". I hope things begin to even themselves out in that area. I find this song eye opening for equality, and social justice. Great song, and program. Thanks for this upload!

what i would do to back to when john was alive...i wrote a whole song for him if only he could hear it ... i miss him and i wasnt alive to know him
Apparently .....Yoko's greatest work of art was persuading Lennon to marry her ...
I love this interview. Both of them appear very humane and genuine.
John Lennon, the best songwriter of his time.
Or any time
And anytime at all
"Where I come from - London" Really John? - you don't come from London.
Plus - all these comments about how Yoko split John from his family, well John was the one who left them. A man who leaves his family is responsible for his own actions. Julian was Johns child and he abandoned the child , the blame lies solely on his weak shoulders.
melon scoffer and then do you think yoko's conscience is right for that situation?.
I'm pretty sure he moved to London right when the Beatles were taking off and stayed there until he and Yoko moved to NY in the early '70s. Every Beatles album was recorded in London.
Agggh the poor guy loved milk shakes at Nathan’s, and late night TV📺📺📺📺. He was like a little kid with his enthusiasms!!! Ya gotta Love it❤️❤️❤️❤️ A witty, funny, super intelligent guy. A real tragedy that a Mother couldn’t see or talk to her child. Absolutely cruel!!! Of course the real horrible tragedy was yet to come about 8 years later (This was done in’71 or ‘72). I had never seen this performance before & John was in good from Rhythmicly & vocally. Great band too!!! RIP John Winston Lennon a great loss for us all.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yoko ono tortured John Lennon and all orphans she had him by his nuts and all the people who loved him suffered with him.
John Lennon, we'll always love you! Daniel, 16
Its like straight out of a karaoke bar in Saigon.
If her husband went around murdering people then she became a murderer, she wouldn't be justified by saying, "well he did that." Also, I was referencing Yoko not letting Julian have any of his dad's stuff, as well as separating him from his father forever. I also feel bad for her getting unwarranted hate but, her treatment of Julian for a very long time has been disgusting.
If you don't understand why john loved yoko you don't understand john.
it,s 4am and I am wide awake again.......totally worth it though....that was great. first time I have ever heard or seen dick cavett.good show.........cheers Elvis!
Lennon's admiration of Yoko's vocal talent is ample proof that LSD distorts your perceptions , .
He was a little out of his mind before he ever touched a drug but a genius in many ways
Y'all don't like the sound of a female orgasm? Suit yourself. Bill Burr is a comedian. Not a life coach.
loved watching this
Wow Shirley McClaine was really pretty
Shirley MacLaine

John Lennon is the one who mastered AUTO-REVERSE on a cassette format.
I was hoping the musical interval would be a break from their incessant self campaigning but didn't have a note in her head.. He was insufferable and she couldn't play the bongo either! 😞
WHOEVER TOLD THAT WOMAN THAT SHE HAD TALENT NEEDS LOCKING UP. AND THAT PERFORMANCE FROM JOHN WAS SECOND RATE TRIPE.
god, shirley maclaine in the 70's? what a babe.
shirley mclaine really impressed me here! what a pure energy
and natural empathy and heart. I recorded some of her words
as samples. john and yoko, so happy to see this next Dick Cavett interview of theirs. I think Shirley, John, and Yoko could have a long and equal discussion
as she was participating in campaigning for McGovern to represent the needed
orientation of government to the service of the people, and not to
anti-human anti-nature corporations and international banks.

I see the potential relevance here, of the deportation.
Like the U.S. govt. was saying we will either ship you out
or we will kill you/send a christian gun enthusiast slimeball to shoot you
and take the blame and fall.
why would he be such a target of the Establishment?
the same reason as many other activist voices in the 60's 70's
and again today in the 10's of new millennium - they were coherent and honest.
The christian Inquisition of any non-christians still continues today
against those of us that speak on levels beyond their cage of lies and fear.
the men like who shot Lennon, and whose values still cage this culture
believe 90% what the Vatican Inquisition believed when they killed for 500 years in Europe, any non-Christians they couldn't convince with fear.
73 books of original Catholic bible - 66 maintained in Protestant Reformation.
only a 10% difference in consciousness between the European Inquisitors
and the U.S. Protestants, today. so they continue killing and fearing and hating any who remember Nature, and who have natural power and will to live.
John represents a needed coherency, and his philosophy and thoughts
recorded in his songs will eventually be part with those of us today,
who finally overcome the unsanity and anti-nature of christian fundamentalism, and anti-Earth alienism mindset of those worshipping
an unsensable overlord, while forgetting their oneness with Earth and Sun.
"they way things are going they're going to crucify me" he knew.
Yoko's bongo really made that song!
Best Percussionist of All Time? Most definitely.
lol
+demoskunk AHAHAHAHHAH
She's defently the nicker of this band.
Lmaooo idk if shes even miked. Shes just taking up space on the stage
that witch is upset about not seeing her daughter!!!! lol ya she stopped Julian travelling to see his dad when he was young. what comes around eh!
starquant i know man, spitting blind venom
They say Love is blind but in John's case it was deaf
Deaf and blind.
None of us know everything that went on , but yeah....poor Julian.
Fantastic ! I liked the performance with Yoko very much! ❤
Nowadays this song would be totally taken out of context and he would've been permanently labeled a racist. And his career would be over.
Wow this court case story 35:00 is hella boring
I miss John Lennon.
I wonder what happened to that tie
Did John Really Think Yoko could sing ? Omg ; her voice is a Nightmare.. They dont even start a Real Subject of Conversation ; she just starts rambling about 10 different issues " .
Respect to these Amazing People John & Yoko and what they stand for to make a difference in the world. Peace and Love. Respect ✌️👏❤️🙏
Shirley is so darn darling here. beautiful.
OMG Yoko sings like Sid Vicious.... Im beginning to think, was it Yoko Ono that inspired the Sex Pistols?
In this heavily PC society that we find ourselves in today there's no way their song would have gotten air play. Either on tv, or radio. I find it strange how things seemingly were "freer" over the air waves back then, but not now. There's more stations now than then. But they were "freer". I hope things begin to even themselves out in that area. I find this song eye opening for equality, and social justice. Great song, and program. Thanks for this upload!
We are all free in our minds to say and think whatever we wish. If we collectively wished to change the scope of media to reflect this, it is in our power to do so. The choice is ours.
you should all be ashamed of yourselves lennon did so much good in the world he was a great man, where all human we all make mistakes and fuck up sometimes but at least he got off his arse and did great things for mankind,
Like what exactly. Please explain what he did that was so good.
I miss John!!!
That band Elephants Memory is very tight and while I couldn't sit through an entire set with Yolo, something oddly draws me in to this "different" song.
