It is better to put trash in a public dustbin. There is a government office called Pradeshiya Sabha/Nagara Sabha. Their responsibility is to keep the area clean, so they will collect trash from homes in your area. You can ask around your living area to find how they dispose of trash. I like your videos! Most of our urban councils' garbage lorries/trucks only collect garbage from towns, they don't go into the villages. Also some urban councils don't know how to manage their urban area or they're irresponsible. Those are very serious issues, the central govt should look after.

Also, you call only male around your age or little older or younger than you 'machang'. You may call older middle aged male uncle or aunt (female) in urban areas and in rural call mama (male) and nanda (female). If little older ayya or machang (male) and akka (female). If little younger machang or malli (male) and nangi (female). If someone very old siya (male) and achchi (female). I'm sure Sri lankans will love you. Unless I come across specifically labeled trash bins, I always carry the trash back home with me.
