Bam was unconsciously projecting a lot of his own shortcomings onto Jess and cKy’s definition of purist success here. Bam sold out his long term skateboarding potential to get rich for living the rockstar/jackass fast life. Now he’s the one who can’t stand to look himself in the mirror and he’s all out of eyeliner.
This episode is very telling. From what we found out over the last few years (2018-2021) with his very public meltdowns it seems like this is around the time his problems started becoming bad. Him bagging on jess for being fat was a reflection of his bulimia which he was dealing with around this time, hes clearly drunk and i feel like on some sort of stimulant (could be coke or adderall as he's been known to use both), and him talking about how unhappy he's become due to the pressure of his schedule and his massive fame. Crazy thing is this was before he would really spiral. The radio bam episodes in the next few years have less and less of his childhood friends and cky guys and more of the hangers on's and drinking buddies. Definitely not one his finest moments here but he wasn't all there.
I was suprised how much shit he talked on CKY considering bam published 4 videos labeled "CKY" then proceeded to say that that Phil probly slips some of his(bams) money to Jess lol cause his band doesnt sell shit for records 😱
@@bloodline1389 it’s a legit complaint when jess is heavily featured in the cky films & filmed a quarter of the first two films himself, he already got his cut from that. when phil is giving jess a cut of bam’s cut simply based off of the fact that jess & bam had already mutually agreed to share the name for different mediums, that’s pretty fucked up especially when at that point it wasn’t just cky money, it was jackass & skate & other assorted jobs’ worth of money. these days i’m starting to wonder if bam’s family is a lil greedy with his money

In terms of mainstream music, emo died around 2008. Now those types of bands are cursed to play Warped Tour every year, and that's one of the few places that still shiwcases emo and metalcore bands.
The argument is if you sell records you get money and that's what matters. Justin Bieber doesn't give a shit if his music is shit because he has 100s of millions of dollar and will have more money then 99% of people on earth

Severe descriptions of Novak,Steve O and Bam to a degree are the most compelling aspects of that show to me.
