It looks amazing!!! I saw the video of its condition in 1982 and i could imagine how much worse it probably looked right before it was started on. Can't wait to see it finished. Thank you for the update and for restoring it. 👍
Absolutely amazing! You have managed to capture the pearl tangerine color perfectly, and the chrome trim is perfect! Can't wait to see the finished product. Rear fender coves will be white? I hope there was enough of the interior left to salvage, so it can be restored! I hope one day to see this completed, and on a stage somewhere for us all to drool over!! You have made FoMoCo proud!!
I am absolutely astonished! I never dreamed I would see the XM Turnpike Cruiser compared to how I first saw it in 1982 when it was a rusted hulk of a pitiful mess. Your masterful skills are unmatched Tom. The car looks as it was when it was new in 1956. I can't wait to see the finished result. Congratulations. Scroll to 1:47 on this video I made in 1982 showing my 1957 Mercury and the sad and sorry XM Turnpike Cruiser long before Tom purchased and restored it. ua-cam.com/video/aY9R1rLLyqk/v-deo.html

WOW. You've come a long way. Such a great project.
This is incredible considering what the condition was when found.

WOWWW!
430 or 462 MEL?
If correct, this car should have a 312 V8. I expected the 368 Turnpike Cruiser V8 but this ws a year before that engine came out in `57.
@@autobug2 A year older and I suppose it could be 430 MEL or an FE motor..
Is the 368 a Y-Block?
