Get ready for a spooky experience, in Emio!
In a mysterious haunted office building, a strange entity known as "The Smiling Man" is threatening the city. You play as a ghost hunter named Nick to find out just whats going on in this creepy place. Make sure to watch out for spooks... (clip)... frights... (clip)... and downright scares!
Emio: The Smiling Man Returns will be available this October 23rd on Nintendo eShop.
Arlo: Nintendo aren’t completely oblivious to the concept of horror…
Me: I mean, yeah, just look at their DMCA strategy, that’s pretty horrifying.
If indeed Nintendo-developed or published, Emio/Smiling Man could very well eventually be a Super Smash Bros. character.
ConcernedApe with a paper bag on his head instead of a pillow this time
He's really putting the haunted in Haunted Chocolatier.
i can't tell if arlo is being dead serious or not when he goes "smiling man? creepiest thing ever, whew"
It somehow feels like he's being both at the same time
I mean… Happy Mask Salesman… he was smiling, and creepy af. XD
@@elfteirohYeah, Lmao X3
I think he's mostly joking honestly, and I kinda gotta agree. The editing is a lil spooky, but it does have sliiiiight vibes of a creepypasta chadacter that a 10 yo came up with in 2011
Oh yeah this is weird as hell
Feels like an arg
It's Count Bleck, the gritty reboot
its dimentio
It's non specific action figure, he's super pissed that he's been forgotten.
A Potentially New Nintendo IP that's a Horror game could be really interesting.
"Emio" is a shortening of "emi otoko" (笑み男), which means smiling man.
My god I would love to see in-house Nintendo polish on a proper horror game
#EmioForSmash
I’m just happy to finally get a new major Nintendo IP
I thought this was a Persona 2 remake for a second.
The original Joker
You know the vibes. EP Joker was my first thought lol
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the next trailer has the 'a Hideo Kojima game' logo there. That man is busy on PS, Xbox and Pc, why not Nintendo
Doesn’t scream kojima
Butternut Squash? Yes Please!
finally putting those sanity meters to good use I see
In a few months, you'll be able to download a demo to that's just a shot of the floor, then Smiling Man walks across.
Not Arlo entering his spooky era
Now we know! It’s a series in Famicon Detective Club!!
If I had to guess this'll be a Switch 2 launch title meant to draw in a more mature demographic, weird that they would start teasing it this early but this years schedule is packed so I cant think of anything else.
That's kind of what I thought too and I think it's a good move at this point. A marketing strategy that commonly gets levied against them is 'well your games are for kids, our games are for mature gamers'. Well it makes sense then to remind us that their mission statement isn't just games for kids, it's games for everyone.
I really doubt them announcing a switch 2 title prior to the announcement of the system.
@@ellpoyohlokoh Legends Z-A is almost certainly a Switch 2 title, the whole game is confirmed to takes place in a urban environment which just ain't happening on Switch 1 after Scarlet and Violet.
@@ellpoyohlokohA lot of people have been speculating that the new Metroid will be cross-gen, and this could be a similar case.
I wouldn’t say this year is packed, really just October
Nintendo: "pee pee poo poo man, where are you~, where are you~"
So true
You won’t be laughing when he kills you.
Bloober Team said in April they were working on a new horror game exclusive to "a Nintendo system" so this is likely it
That's already been debunked by just, actually reading the source
It's murkier than that because there are things that seem to indicate it's not Bloober, like them stating it's being published under their internal Broken Mirror Games label, but then the single Tweet Broken Mirror Games has made is one congratulating Nintendo on selling 140 million Switch systems with a piece of weird horror concept art? And Bloober's been weirdly open about Project M being a thing, even confirming it went into production in February 2023 and then saying they pulled developer Draw Distance off the project while still targeting 2024. Everything about that is weird and unlike Nintendo, and yet the Japanese website for Emio's files are tagged with Ms.
NO, not Bloober, been disproven. Bloober is a western dev, and western devs don't use japanese text in their game and trailers lol. This was made by Japanese devs. This was made by Nintendo.
It would be a little disapointing if it's blobber
This game was probably made in-house
Didn't know I needed Arlo's reaction this badly to whatever the heck that was until now 😂
Same
I just so happened to watch the trailer like a minute after it came out and was so confused. I'm glad everyone else immediately thought the same.
8:20
That sounds awesome, like they did with the third person shooter genre for splatoon
WELCOME BACK MONO FROM LITTLE NIGHTMARES 2!
Everyone asking "who is emio"
But no one asks "how is emio"💔
My crackpot theory is that this is their completely wild way to announce the next system...
Emino is the Hash Slinging Slashers Cousin!
What if this is the man who's been narrating the Nintendo directs all this time?
Reminds me of "we are nintendo. You cannot beat us"
*Insert Luigi humming his own theme*
I love this, it's so far out there for Nintendo, I need more
This game has a great chance of being scary as hell and I’m all here for it
Mario finally had enough of Bowsers crap.
ITS RHYTHM HEAVEN TRUST ME
I’m getting strong early-PS3-advertising vibes from this. Maybe it’s the first volley of promotion for the Switch successor?
"Hey kid, you want the new Nintendo console early? I got it right here in my van."
Our thoughts exactly.
What if we just never heard about this again?
