Sad to say that it but I had sold this car back in April of 2014 and just found out today that it was crushed for scrap metal a mere 4 months later in August 2014. It was a cool car, although it needed a lot of work. The reason I sold it is that it wasn't running incredibly great and was having some electrical problems. It ended up completely destroying the transmission after I sold it to the new owner. The LeBaron will always be missed :/

My 1994 LeBaron has the same problem with the trunk. I just use the key to open the trunk. I've been meaning to check the cable, but it always escapes my mind. What happened to this car is a shame. In my opinion, these LeBarons are actually decent cars.
(Two years later...) Hey FanOfVacuums2. If you still have your LeBaron, there are a couple of things to check for your trunk operation. If you open up the trunk, there is a remote release lock out switch on the trunk lid's latch that prevents the truck release control inside the cabin from opening in the trunk. Make sure that isn't enabled. Also, I had trouble with the trunk not popping in my '91, and what I did was loosen the bolts on the U clamp and move the clamp a bit (I think I moved it laterally). When you pull the remote release, the latch in the trunk uses that clamp to "push off." If it is has migrated slightly (after normal use for years), the trunk can't get the leverage it needs to pop open.

can anyone tell me why my 1991 le baron 3.0 l sqeales non stop and only stopes occasionally i have changed to seaveral belts and have changed all belt pulleys and it still sqeales like the belt is still slipping i know that it is probable the belt still slipping because i try dry soao on the belt as it is turning and it quiets up for a bit but doesent last long has anyone else have this problen and if you could tell me what to do please some one save my ears and my neighbors too i just cant stand the sound anymore and my mechanic cant figure it out
There is a can available at car parts stores called belt dressing. You spray it on the inside of the belt. It makes the belt sticky. You could also spray some hairspray to make the belt sticky too, but it won't last long. But if a mechanic can't find the issue, he probably tried the dressing. Also the water pump will squeal if it is old and the bearings are getting rusty. That is a 20 part and 300 labor job to have it replaced. I just did mine on my 88 LeBaron [but the 2.5, 4 cyl engine] and it took about 7 hours to do it myself. But I saved the 300.
You need to isolate where the sound is coming from first. Check the cheap stuff first.
1. Belt Tensioner needs replaced.
2. Power Steering Pump. [ Maybe About to suffer Failure of the seals and Bearings. ]
3. Alternator Pully. [Bearing maybe about to fail.]
4. A/C Compressor Clutch [ About to Fall Apart]
The Belt Tensioner is the most common item to fail.
The Water Pump runs off the timing belt in the V6.
In the 4 Cylinder Engine The Water Pump Seals And Bearings Also can cause belt squeaking just before they fail leaving you high and dry with no coolant.
In the V6 replace the water pump,Tube and seals when you replace the timing belt. Trust me, save your self a lot of grief later on. The tubes start to rust out and seals begin failing shortly after the timing belt is replaced. The water pump is about shot at 120,000 miles. It was a very expensive lesson learned by myself.
Are those gauges aftermarket? Reason I ask is cuz I've owned a couple of these cars and have seen a bunch more and have never seen a 90 with digital gauges.
