I have so much to say about this video! First of all, thank you, Rachel, for tagging me on Twitter so I could see it. Second, thank you so much Carla. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. It made me smile when I saw you recommending it. Thank you! Third, this idea is fantastic. To put a collaborative video together. It's stuff like this that keeps the horror/booktube community strong. I'd love to see more of this type of thing. Great job, everyone!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this, Chad! And it was 100% my pleasure to recommend Stirring the Sheets, it was phenomenal. I haven't read much else of your work, but I'll be remedying that oversight asap! :)
Thanks Chad! I love the creativity and enthausium with the horror booktube community. I'm hoping projects like this will help people find new creators (& books) to check out.
What an honor to be with this list of BookTubers! And I found a new one 🙂 Also some titles to add to my ever growing, never ending TBR! Thanks Rachel for putting this together! It turned out amazing!! 🖤
Thank you so much for participating. That make up job was AMAZING. I'm happy you were able to find a new channel and some new horror books to check out.
Hi Stacy, had to comment because 1) In the vid you were wearing my fav Halloween shirt for 2019 (was also my 'costume') and 2) Your recommendation is one of my favorite haunted house books! I'll definitely be checking out your channel!...and re-reading Amityville ;-)
This is fantastic! Thank you for sharing. I see some familiar and some new faces that I cannot wait to follow. It can be hard to find great horror reviewers, so this is great.
Hi Rachael, we really enjoy your vids and recommendations. Please keep them coming. Have you ever read Come Closer by Sara Gran. It’s a first person tale of possession from the inside out. One of my all time favorites.
Thanks for participating Jason. And I appreciated you brining some male energy to this video. I didn't realize how many horror booktubers are female. I'll have to do another round with a few more guys I found recently.
I loved this video. So many great booktubers and books! I have got to say that I need a coffee mug or a t-shirt that says "cats, coffee, and cuss words"!
I appreciate your feedback. I'd love to do this with science fiction, but I wasn't sure if people would be interested. Adult science fiction is another genre that is hard to find reviews on booktube.
What a wonderful project. I’ll have to go back and watch some of the older ones 🥳 I’ve seen House of leaves recommended a lot with the caveat that either get the PDF or the physical book because the Kindle book doesn’t have The “graphics” 🙃👻
Great idea and I'm not even a big fan of the horror genre (have a read some, just not much). I read The Amityville Horror when I was a teenager (?!) and it scared me senseless. TFS :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Also, a lot of these booktubers read other genres like thrillers or scifi and fantasy so hopefully your tastes overlap if you enjoy someone's personality.
Thank you Rachel, this was killer, so many great recommendations! I looked up "Teatro Grottesco" that Jason's Weird Reads' recommended and it is amazing that the hardcover for that book is $437.00! Cheers, and Happy Halloween. 👻🦇🎃
Great, I found this channel. This video itself is a gold mine for a horror genre lover/addict like me. Can't wait to read all the books mentioned here. Subscribed already🤘🤘
Rachel I love these videos!!!! Watched them all back to back!!!! Great recommendations and great Booktubers!!!! Thaaank yooou!!!! 😊😊😊🌸🌸🤗😝😜😝🤗😍❤️❤️🌸❤️🌸❤️
loooooved this compilation so much!!! Thanks for putting this all together! Don't let anybody tell you otherwise! I love your videos and this is good content.
Thank you! And if you're wondering, I will definitely be doing another one of these because I've found so many channels, like yours, after I started planning this one
@@TheShadesofOrange I think asking viewers a question or other booktubers to make a video is great and smart and it is not lazy at all. I started following now others thanks to your video and added more books to my list hahaha
Thank you for this. I'm trying to get into it and I'm overwhelmed your videos help. Reading It now and not scared so lets see if I can make it through.
This is such a great source. I'm new to youtubing and am looking to follow like minded horror readers. You have supplied me with a great list to subscribe to. Thank you.
This was awesome! Some awesome recommendations, and some great new peeps to check out. I love these videos! Thanks for letting me be a part, and please do more in the future!
Thanks for participating! I still need to read Security. And yes, I think I'm going to have to do this again because I've found so many new channels since I sent out those emails
The video was ok., however, I'm curious as to why there was only a single man included in the group of UA-cam reviewers? I can understand that your fav UA-cam channels may be skewed toward female reviewers, but I thought this video was intended to appeal to a wide audience.
This is my second time doing this kind of video and the first video had a lot more male booktubers. I invited a new group for this collab but only one guy sent in a video clip. I'm actually new a 3rd collab with a new group and there was much more male participation. Video should be posted in a week or two. A lot of my favourite horror channels are by men, but most of them participated in the first round and I don't repeat booktubers.
@@TheShadesofOrange Alright, that's a reasonable explanation. I didn't know your process regarding how these Booktubers were chosen. I just noticed that none of the male Booktubers I watch were represented, but now you explained, so thanks.
@@shawnf764 thanks. And your initial comment was fair. Without enough context, it looks like I'm weirdly favouring female creators. These booktubers don't even necessarily represent my booktube friends or the channels I regularly watch. Instead, I send our inclusive invites to all the active horror channels that haven't participated yet. I feel grateful to be one of the (relatively) larger horror booktube channels and want to then share support for the smaller creators.
@@TheShadesofOrange Btw, I changed my opinion to a like regarding this video because after watching it again I discovered the Booktuber Leighanne's Lit, and I really like her platform. Keep doing what you're doing. I enjoy your videos, and the segments on the other Booktubers are extremely helpful in discovering other great content. Kudos!
