Hey Anthony, We knew you had some good stuff when you went pickin that old place. I think keeping the first Pepsi as it would be best for it. But the badly faded sign is begging for a repaint. I bet your painter friend can do an amazing job on that one. The Mobiloil sign would have been the top prize had it not been so shot up. Being you have the same sign on the back you might get your painter friend to paint the back side to show what it was like in good shape. You may be surprised at the heat that stove puts out. It does look to be a coal stove but it will burn wood. That power hammer is the piece I am looking forward to seeing cleaned up and working. The echo was not bad in this video. Still there but nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Are you going to do anything with the IH van body that was at the place ? Good haul, good video. Work Safe, Be Well Enjoy Life
Stuff does look good. A nice haul. I almost had a Pepsi sign like yours, but the old barn it was on fell down, then the owner sold the property. I have not talked to the new owner yet. But it has been a few years now. I did dig out of another persons field 2 round Texaco signs. Only one had stuck up out of the ground for years and people lifted a edge and bent it up. I finally got permission to dig up the sign from the widow of the farmer. So I went with my bro in law and 2 shovels, and we found 2 Texaco signs buried, with the totally buried one in much better shape, just like yours. Now I know what to use to clean them before I hang them. Those old Phillips 66 oil cans would be nice to display too.
We had one of those old push type reel mowers when I was a kid. It took both my brother and I to push it. My dad ended up sticking a gas motor on top of it. That just made it terrifying! My grandpa had a welding and machine shop where he also had a portable disk rolling operation. It was.cool.I sharpened lots of plows with it. He also had one of the trip hammers, but it was over 8 feet tall. Those are great finds!
Put it in a spray bottle and apply it. Use a regular dish sponge 🧽 with the course side rub it in and let sit for 15 minutes. Repeat that every 15 minutes until it’s all the rust is off.
@HardCoreFab yeah I get it. I got a manual with mine. Just gonna have to play with it. When I have time lol. On my project I need to bend some square tubing into a arch. For front fender attachment points. And some radius for my trans tunnel.
What’s the solution you are using to clean them up? I found an old railroad crossing sign a few days ago down in an old scraping location and nothing is cleaning it.
Soap water mostly. It was a mix of simple green, windshield washing stuff, and some orange cleaner that came in a $1 box from an auction. The soft scrub brush helps as much as anything too.
Awesome finds! That stove is totally cool! Restore and put it in your office !✊😁
That could happen
That's exactly what I said!
That sign was cool. Good pick.
Thanks, I'm enjoying it
There is a product called prep n etch that can take the rust off the bottle cap.
Love the Pepsi sign and it is great that yall are fixing up the old place
Congratulations audio is so much better! 😊

Excellent sign and base
100% That was a good time!
I’ve had a lot of success with a product called Prep N Etch. It takes the rust off of tin signs. Especially the bottle cap area of the Pepsi sign.
I'll have to play with some of that and see how it goes

Old woodburner/coal stove would be awesome in the lounge room
That it would!
Very cool stuff. Would love to see more on the bender. I just picked one up over the summer. Mike c
I may do some with it at some point. I have to much on my plate to say when at this point.

That tin would make a cool headlinr
I like the way you think!
I would back light the Pepsi signs with LEDs. That’s would be cool.
THANK YOU
I think I would have to try a rustoration on the bad Pepsi. A good painter could "fauxtina" it.
love the Mobiloil gargoyle
Very cool work! What is the solution you use to clean the signs?
What ever was laying the shop. I think some simple green some random orange stuff and windshield washing fluid.
What is the cleaning products your using? I have 2 old feed signs I can barely read and want to clean them.
Thanks
Chris
Water simple green and some orange stuff that was on the shelf. It was mostly just years of dirt

Just some random cleaners in the shop. Simple green, mixed with some orange stuff, some windshield washing fluid, and a bunch of elbow grease.
is that the number 2 bender ( the small version) ?
yes
What the heck special chemical do you use?
