- A Fijian master piece composed by the late Timoci Nabulivou. The song composed talks about how strong and fierce the highland warriors were when they engage into battle.

We need more of this kind to keep showing our true culture and traditional dance
I really want a movie about how fiji was back then during them cannibal days
Fierce battle and war cries
Viti is rich with history. Just within the past 150 years was many wars from the far outer islands against the colonial masters (1874-1970) and missionaries (pre 1874). Then on to our coasts, rivers, swamps, up into the highlands. It was Viti against the crusade/holy war.
We have history before the abovementioned. During the Verata empire which started about 3,500 years ago. So much history there.
But if we go further before this then you will end up to Nakauvadra wars where we're transcending between the mortal world and the arch angels and gods. We have so much depth.
Pure dose of real traditional warrior dance and movement.
Thank you because im tired of new dance groups that wrongly portrays the real physique or a Fijian warrior dance.
You guys really rocks.
hahahahah. Very true.
I see The spear warriors from the Coast meeting the Highland Warriors with their Clubs. Now that's a battle
❤ I pray that in hopes to keep the roots deep we Islanders make more of these. Loved to see it
Sa vovoleka sara tiko ni buli dua kena yaloyalo me baleti ira noda qase. Totoka vakaoti koya qo
It's so needed...take inspiration from our cousins in Aotearoa and Hawaii on some of the amazing productions they've produced to date.
Oh wow that dance was breathtaking....I'm part Highlander ...makes me proud ❤
This what we want to see not the Vou dance who sometimes we don't know if they dancing or modeling
Hahahahaha....Please be nice......hahahah
🤣🤣😂😂😂Trues up😂😂
Hahahaha uwiii sinai nodratou taga
Sometimes I think Fijians are illiterate, Vou is a contemporary dance company first of all. Meaning they mix traditional with contemporary that's why they are named "VOU" it's not hard to understand this💀
Also if you go on their pages it's there. They will tell you this!!
Why do you still expect them to be doing full on traditional mekes? We already have groups in Fiji that are already doing this. They are doing something different because it's a business 2nd of all, how do you think everyone in the company gets paid?
Every time they perform and get a chance to introduce themselves they will tell people this😂
Stop being lazy and go and learn about them, the good they're doing for kids who want to be dancers.
Keeping people employed, cause let's face it we can't all be doctors and pilots.
@@ro2ro168 Good on them; if people want to pay to see Vou, that's their choice. I'm just voicing my opinion, and it's a free country. Some of us would love to see more cultural dance because it's slowly dying away, and we are sick and tired of seeing all this contemporary action song type of meke mixed with traditional dance. Now, kids are confused about what is traditional because of the influence of modern action song types of moves and have lost the Mana of Meke. Vinaka.
ISA .. e reki na yalo niu sarava e dua Mai vukivuki ni meke Dina vaka Viti.. totoka na meke KEI na qaqana..
Kerea me tolu va lima tini na qaqana. Sa qai meke qo.
chiiickkkennn skinnnnn. I cant wait to come back to FIJI!!!!
These native fusion with modern dance pollutes the purity of our traditional dance...bring back the old forms of dance and chants of the old days please...great audio visuals..👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
They are trying to drowned out Melanesian culture and wash down our culture by mixing it with modern society. But our culture alone is so unique and mighty.
Totoka 👏 vinaka vakalevu na meke
This is to be the best war dance video I've watched so far.good keep it up.
I love this traditional music and dance of Fiji. I wish we could see more of it!
This gave me chills 🥶🥶
Too good!! kajimatanaa brass....
Do Fijians usually pukana? Genuinely curious.
