Believe it or not there are blind flight simmers out there. I actually had one reach out to me and I wanted to interview him, but haven't gotten around to it. It's the closest they can get to flying.
The brail I imagine is really for the people who want to identify the buttons without having to look down at the panel. It’s not uncommon and many cars and other equipment have this feature to allows the operator to concentrate on controlling the equipment rather than searching for the buttons especially in the dark.
The Braille on joysticks also helps with VR headset wearing, when looking at the buttons is not an option. Of course there are also some joysticks with distinctive button shapes and locations, such as the Gladiator MK-II.
I bought the Yoko+ and it feels incredible to use. Long travel, no dead spots at all, and smooth increase in tension as you apply input. I use it with a Logitech throttle and MFG Crosswind v2 rudder pedals.
Honeycomb hands down the best yoke for the money. Can't wait to purchase the throttle and they've also just announced that they'll be releasing rudder pedals as well.
Yes and zero deadzone after you learn to calibrate it ive already pre ordered the throttle and im getting the pedals as well when available i agree its great
My entry level stick was the T16000 and TCWS throttle bundle. I love it to this day when needing to fly something with a stick to go with my honeycomb yoke.
Bought my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro in 2005 for Battlefield 2. Just recently I opened it up and hit the yaw axis pot with some contact cleaner and it's pretty much as good as new. That being said, the buttons are a little hard to press compared to how they used to be.
Very interesting journey through these various options for hardware. I just moved up to the Honeycomb kit, an amazing upgrade in my opinion from my Saitek/Logitech Yoke. Looking forward to the launch of the supporting Bravo throttle quadrant. Very clear video - great job thanks!
Which do you recommend for a newer person? I want the most realistic feel but not extremely pricey... I was originally thinking of the Logitech Yoke but then found out about the deadzone. Does the deadzone really affect the Yoke and it’s feel very much or does it not affect the gameplay?
@@anshtiwary2960 If you are going for a stick then I have used the Thrustmaster T Flight hotas 4 combo - stick and throttle. It is solid, stable and versatile, as the throttle is detachable for positioning. I had one and was very happy with it. Bonus is it works with the PS4 too if you have one. You can get it from Argos if you are in the UK. It depends what you are intending to fly as to whether you should save up and stretch for the yoke as they do really add value and Immersion for some aircraft. Many of the more modern aircraft though have joysticks anyway and so a yoke would not be as useful. Best of luck and enjoy.
I've been using Logitech 3D Pro for quite some time actually.Its an amazing product from logitech for such a low price tag! The 12 buttons in the stick makes it even fantastic However, after some time,the stick happened to get loose(i dont know if the issue is only for me) and that makes the yoke of the aicraft (inside sim) move a little bit,thereby becoming a challenge on finals Even though this issue is present,i cant complain that this issue is not limiting the fun i get while simming If you're new to flight sim and have a very tight budget,this is the one for you! I would give a solid 9.2/10 for this marvellous product Happy landings!

I remember my all time fav joystick the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 3D Pro! Boy this was ahead of its time back in the 1990s! I used it for motorbike and 3D games as much as space flight sims back in those days! The next joystick (HOTAS) i bought was the Saitek X-45 Pro but i found the joystick's loose spring/tension really spoils the immersion of controlling any tactile heavy duty vehicle altho the abundance of LEDs were sweet. So many years down the road and i'm now eyeing the Thrustmaster Warthog...
Real pilots know that you seldom have more than your left hand on the yoke. Most flights are controlled by trim even in sharp climbs and turns use of trim is almost necessary. I also have the throttle quandrant control.. All you really need unless you want to fly the newer commercials and fighter planes, but Logitech works well with these too. I use it for choppers also.

I've been a flight simmer for about 28 years. I owned allot of joysticks but they more or less have the same in common they become unprecise after 6 month - 12 month of usage.!!!! The logitech 940, x55, x56, x56pro ect all become unprecise within 6-12 month usage, but they are cheap and nice to use though but really annoying they build them with so little quality. About 2 years ago i bought a virpil base+joystick and trottle.. Here 2 years later with hundreds of houres usage they are still 100% precise. What i learned. When i look back on all the joysticks ive had + other i dident mention, then my best buy was a quality joystick from Virpil due to the sensors and quality of the parts inside the joystick. I do admit the plastic joystick handle + the buttons feel cheap, but all other things work perfect.. no broken buttons, and 100% precise all the time. The negative is the software/firmware that you really only want to touch one time and never thouch again in fear of it changing the joystick button layout so you have to reprogram you +10 planes/helis in dcs again.. Lessons learned..: If you are interested in flight sims and like them in general. I highly recommend to buy a quality joytick like VKB or Virpil in that price range. YES they are expensive, but in my oppinion its cheaper than buying a new joystick every 1-2 years becourse they are worn out and unprecise. I expect my virpil to still be precise in 10 years from now since the internal hardware is build strong and not cheap. ps.. even with a cheap joystick that is very unprecise you can air refuel in any plane in DCS world. Its all about training and some skill. Just saying you dont need expensive gear to have fun, even a cheap 15usd sidewinder joystick is good for many games, but you properbly want to upgrade someday ;-)
The T.1600m HOTAS is an amazing deal and you get a ton of kit for a very low price. It obviously includes the T.1600M stick you featured, but adds the throttle with tons of more buttons and hats (and a rotary!). Also takes care of your trim issue (though having TrackIR is a life changing purchase) with the inclusion of the analog stick on the throttle. I've used it for DCS for several years and love it. The stick feels extremely good in the hand ;)

Again, I'm seeing one thing, and that is such a lack of competition in the aviation market that they will sell you a ballpoint pen for $85. These are nought but plastic and switches, they dont need to get any more expensive than $80
I have the Logitech 3D Extreme Pro, hands down best piece of hardware I've ever own. This thing never breaks. I've had the Saitek Pro Flight system but it broke down and it took a descent amount of space (not a problem though, it's easy to put on and off the desk) After 11 years, I'm still using my Logitech Joystick as a "daily driver"
i used microsoft precision pro gameport version till 2014 from 1997-8... :) i even found custom portable drivers for it for win7 x86... and then get x65f and use it till now, and hope it will with me forever
I use the new Yoko+ it is really nice, it almost turns 180 degrees. It is excellent quality and I haven't experienced trouble with it yet. It is a good realistic yoke, but is expensive. And it does not include a throttle quadrant. I use a throttle quadrant from Redbird, They have very good quality flight sim gear.
I can personally endorse the Logitec 3d extreme. There is drift in the rudder / yaw, and that gets worse as the stick ages. Mine is now (?) about 11 years old, and it's really time I replaced it. But it feels good, and works well, and not many items of computer equipment have worked so well for so long. I'd quite happily buy another one exactly the same. Works fine in Windows, works fine in Linux.... I think the sensor for the twist / yaw is the problem, and if I could get one of those for less than the cost of the whole unit...
I would say the honeycomb yoke is the best zero dead space after you find out how to calibrate it its very easy to calibrate where it will have zero deadzone and its not 1000 dollars but feels like it and performs like it.
Have no fear, the T16000M joystick can be reconfigured to a left-handed version. But sadly Thrustmaster doesn't make left-handed versions of their TWCS Throttles (maybe if enough lefties pestered them to make left-handed throttles as a made-to-order item?).
if you are looking for a good budget stick, i wont recommend these in the videos, i can recommend the turtle beach velocity one flightstick its very good quality, has flaps and throttle and a lot of more features, it is only 125 which is a very good price. if you are looking for a yoke DONT GET THE SAITAK. the velocity one is again, on of the best on the markets comes with a throttle too and it is a little bit more (329).
I've been using the Extreme 3D pro for decades and apart from the hat switch down feature not working and the joystick slightly swaying (easily fixed with deadzone adjustment) it works perfectly. Overdue for an upgrade tho
The Warthog is a good HOTAS... BUT... you need to do a bit of work to make it a great HOTAS. The flashing on the Joystick for example is what causes the horrible “sticktion” that a lot of Warthog drivers hate. You can fix it by opening up the throttle base (VERY carefully as not to break any wires) and remove all the original grease (it’s crap), sand down the flashing marks gently so as not to cause flat spots and the put some new plastic friendly grease onto the ball before putting it all back together. Sounds hard but it’s not and the joystick feels TONS better afterwards. Oh and be careful with the pinky switch... it’s delicate as anything and can get easily damaged and as it’s a Thrustmaster special (they couldn’t fit in a full sized toggle switch in the reduced sized left throttle handle so they fitted a full sized toggle switch lever onto mini toggle switch body... a true Frankenstein!).
Hi, unrelated, but I saw you have your microphone facing top towards you. Now while that will work mostly fine if you set it to the omnidirectional pickup pattern, to not lose any audio quality, you actually speak into it from the side (the side where the you can see the "Blue" Logo) , to speak into the membrane(s) directly. You can then also use it with cardioid pattern and reduce room reverberation pick up.
Nice and breif, I agree with most off these, thrustmaster should've got more love as a qaudrant though but understandable since it's to expensive for some off us to own, *cries
You have no business doing a vid on flight sticks without trying the Warthog HOTAS at least once. I'm not saying you don't know what you're talking about, but FFS, it's an industry standard. It's not without its flaws, but it's the best stick/throttle combo out there. And don't give me shit about the price. It's worth it.
Very hard decision. A yoke would be nice and comfortable but offers fewer buttons, less versatile since fighter jets use a side stick layout, Airbus uses a side stick, and it's a more widespread option. I just don't know since I am going to play MFS2020 a lot so a sidestick might get uncomfortable.
OK. First off, the Honeycomb is a good yoke, far better than the Saitek but it has flaws. I even tried to get some reaction from Honeycomb to my issue but no reply was forthcoming, nada. That's not very polite so I set out to find my own solution. The issue is that the pitch control, during fine movements in the flare, is slightly jerky, or sticky but definitely not smooth. This is a real shame because they already have the solution partially licked by using linear bearings on the double rail guide mechanism under the hood. They strangely proceed to use a nylon bush to guide the yokes spindle and I discovered that this is where the stickiness comes from. As an engineer, and always trying to improve a product already on the market, I dismantled the yoke and removed the spindle boss that the shaft of the yoke runs through. I removed the nylon bush and replaced it with a linear bearing after a little turning and reworking and it has transformed the yoke. No more jerky, sticky resistance to contend with. These linear bearings are SO cheap, under £10 for 12 number, linear bearings !! They out perform the nylon bush by miles. I fly a real world GA aeroplane and don't expect a jerky action and now my Honeycomb yoke copies the feel more accurately. I would urge Honeycomb to make this improvement in manufacture. It will not be an expensive thing to do. I'd be quite happy to convert the yokes of anyone interested in making this undoubted improvement to their simulator experience. I'd also be happy to talk to Honeycomb as well, if they are interested in improving their product.
Still using a CH FS Yoke that works perfect but...you have to modify it when new. Take it apart and toss those stock CH "return" springs which are ridiculous in the amount of tension. I went to HD and bought a much lighter pair and they work great--some have had good success going the rubber band route too. Next with case open I use white lithium grease on the parts that control the elevator and the shaft itself. Don't think that just spraying some WD40 on the yoke shaft front and back on the outside of the case will work--it won't. Why buyers of this yoke have to do this is beyond me. My last CH Yoke was about ten years old before a potentiometer went south and induced a slight turn even when perfectly calibrated.
Awesome gear. I use the Logitech x56 with Thrustmaster MFD Cougars. Once you catch the bug, it's got you. But one audio tip, the Blue Yeti is a front address microphone. So you speak into the front, not the top. Audio OCD was triggered. Lol
Surprised no mention of CH Products. I have both their yoke and pedals. No complaints. (Edit) I also have the Logitech X52 for fighter or space sim controls.
Logitech 3D tends to lose its sensitivity over time especially the rudder axis. At which point no amount of calibration helps. You’ve no choice but to junk it unless you or someone you know can fix its innards.
The Extreme Pro has big problems with the twist rudder. The Thrustmaster 16000 is marginally better but its throttle is sadly terrible because it's sticky. A lot more buttons, though.
I do not recommend Saitek..had one for 8 years and it was not good since brand new. Really bad precision, since I 've tried fixed base sim in sim centre, I lost any hope. I 'd love to try Honeycomb one, but lost my FSX after one bloody MS10 update and wasnt able to recover it, so I gave up :(. Will start my real licence soon :). But sims are such a great hobby ! Question on the Saitek Throttle Quadrant: You were only using one but I had two sets so I could run my twins as well as modify for three and four engine jets. In X-Plane 11 however, it would only recognize one as the Saitek and the other was some generic name. It made it hard to program the controls plus, when I unplugged them and connected them again later, X-Plane renamed them, thus screwing up the profiles I had made. Just wondering if you ever had that issue and, if so, how to perhaps surmount the issue. Thanks.
Do you think you'll use more yoke planes or stick? Either way you'd be fine. But for example if you'll fly a yoke plane 70% of the time you might want to get a nicer yoke and then maybe a lower end stick to use sometimes.
I little off-topic so excuse the question please. But what are those banks of lights that you have on your desk? I've seen other tech people use them and I have no idea what they are. Otherwise this is a great video. I plan to get the Honeycombs next year. But right now I have the Thrustmaster warthog pair and I love them! Thanks!
Amechi Amanugi Hi no worries! You’re actually the first person to ever ask about them. They are called Tix Clocks. Each light in the four boxes represents the numbers of the time. It really stops you from forgetting the time because you have to think for a second. I guess they’re really hard to find now. A company called ThinkGeek used to sell them.
Buttergolem yeah they always market them together. But yeah you can use it as the throttle, flaps, or spoilers. Whatever you would like. I like to use it as the throttle. It stays in place too. Some throttle axis’s twitch a little in the sim.
Logitech/Saltek yoke and other flight sim hardware they make is crap. I avoid Logitech like a plague now. Before Saltek got bought out by Logitech Saltek used to make a pretty decent yoke back in the late 1990's/early 2000's and was based on the Cessna design. Now since Logitech bought Saltek the yoke feels cheap, clunky and made with poor quality electronics and clearly was all put together and barely tested in a Chinese sweatshop. Had at least two Logitech yokes fail on me within weeks apart of each other and a Logitech stick that died on me inside of a month. I upgraded to the Honeycomb yoke and it blows the Logitech yoke clean out of the water. Also Thrustmaster makes a few sticks that also surpass any lower end Logitech stick. To me worst to best from first to last is: Logitech/Saltek, CH Products, Thrustmaster, Honeycomb and lets not forget RedBird. RedBird is prem quality but way out of most peoples price range. The RedBird yoke alone is $800 but its all made of alloy and sturdy plastics. For the cost and quality the Honeycomb yoke is the best by far.
Virple is impossible to buy in the U.S. and cost $150+ USD just to ship takes forever and is such a hassle few will jump threw the impossible hassle & hoops to get there products winwing is even worse and pre orders aren't going to process for 6 months which means you have to order now and you can have it next year….maybe…...
Im looking for a cheap yoke for Star Wars Squadrons, im new to the Combat Sim, and i want to try a yoke because thats the type on the Tie Fighters and Many Imperial Aircrafts, which one do you recommend?
What I'm curious about is will any flight simulator hardware work on the Xbox Series X when Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 launches? I would just build a PC to ruin flight sim, but the Series X will be more financially accessible.
I am going to wait for the Oct/Nov release of Series X but given that RDNA2 graphics.appear to be equal to Nvidia 2080 specified as ideal by MS and zen 2 cpu is at least as good as Ryzen 5 specified as recommended I would expect Series X to be capable of at least middle settings and fast load with its ssd and DDR6 RAM. It does have 3 USB ports one of which I would use for wireless mouse and keyboard so if you get short of usb sockets you may need a usb hub for some hardware! If you plan on buying a 4K tv or monitor ensure you choose one with HDMI 2.1 to take full advantage of Series X advanced frame rate and speed! Regarding hardware flight controls if I had a large budget I would probably go for Honeywell Yoke + quadrant + rudder pedals but the Thrustmaster Airbus sidestick looks good and there is an economical combined package of Yoke + quadrant now announced! You can then decide if you want separate pedals and which type or use the sidestick for rudder Control!

I don't know for sure, but usually things are pretty safe using suction cups. They similarly use them to pull dents out of cars without removing paint.

Computer keyboards sometimes have Braille style bumps on a few keys... not for blind typists, but to orient your fingers without looking down.

That was my first yoke/stick and I still use it sometimes over my yoke, for flying Airbus' and fighter jets.

I see lots of simmers use the 3D Pro including myself, when you get a setup you like with it, it's really fun.

I've been a flight simmer for about 28 years. I owned allot of joysticks but they more or less have the same in common they become unprecise after 6 month - 12 month of usage.!!!!
The logitech 940, x55, x56, x56pro ect all become unprecise within 6-12 month usage, but they are cheap and nice to use though but really annoying they build them with so little quality.
About 2 years ago i bought a virpil base+joystick and trottle.. Here 2 years later with hundreds of houres usage they are still 100% precise.
What i learned. When i look back on all the joysticks ive had + other i dident mention, then my best buy was a quality joystick from Virpil due to the sensors and quality of the parts inside the joystick.
I do admit the plastic joystick handle + the buttons feel cheap, but all other things work perfect.. no broken buttons, and 100% precise all the time.
The negative is the software/firmware that you really only want to touch one time and never thouch again in fear of it changing the joystick button layout so you have to reprogram you +10 planes/helis in dcs again..
Lessons learned..: If you are interested in flight sims and like them in general. I highly recommend to buy a quality joytick like VKB or Virpil in that price range.
YES they are expensive, but in my oppinion its cheaper than buying a new joystick every 1-2 years becourse they are worn out and unprecise.
I expect my virpil to still be precise in 10 years from now since the internal hardware is build strong and not cheap.
ps.. even with a cheap joystick that is very unprecise you can air refuel in any plane in DCS world. Its all about training and some skill. Just saying you dont need expensive gear to have fun, even a cheap 15usd sidewinder joystick is good for many games, but you properbly want to upgrade someday ;-)

The T.1600m HOTAS is an amazing deal and you get a ton of kit for a very low price. It obviously includes the T.1600M stick you featured, but adds the throttle with tons of more buttons and hats (and a rotary!). Also takes care of your trim issue (though having TrackIR is a life changing purchase) with the inclusion of the analog stick on the throttle. I've used it for DCS for several years and love it. The stick feels extremely good in the hand ;)
For the trim issue I found most sims let you use the up and down on the hat switch. Couldn't get it to work on P3D though.

I have the Logitech 3D Extreme Pro, hands down best piece of hardware I've ever own. This thing never breaks. I've had the Saitek Pro Flight system but it broke down and it took a descent amount of space (not a problem though, it's easy to put on and off the desk) After 11 years, I'm still using my Logitech Joystick as a "daily driver"

i used microsoft precision pro gameport version till 2014 from 1997-8... :) i even found custom portable drivers for it for win7 x86... and then get x65f and use it till now, and hope it will with me forever

Still have the CH Eclipse which has throttle,prop,mixture built in. But do like the look of the Honeycomb.
I use the new Yoko+ it is really nice, it almost turns 180 degrees. It is excellent quality and I haven't experienced trouble with it yet. It is a good realistic yoke, but is expensive. And it does not include a throttle quadrant. I use a throttle quadrant from Redbird, They have very good quality flight sim gear.
All of them are good, it depends a lot of everyone's needs
I have had the 3D pro for 6 years and the CH for 4. I’m upgrading to the Thrustmaster HOTAS and Yoko the yoke plus. It will be a game changer.

I can personally endorse the Logitec 3d extreme. There is drift in the rudder / yaw, and that gets worse as the stick ages. Mine is now (?) about 11 years old, and it's really time I replaced it. But it feels good, and works well, and not many items of computer equipment have worked so well for so long. I'd quite happily buy another one exactly the same. Works fine in Windows, works fine in Linux.... I think the sensor for the twist / yaw is the problem, and if I could get one of those for less than the cost of the whole unit...

I would say the honeycomb yoke is the best zero dead space after you find out how to calibrate it its very easy to calibrate where it will have zero deadzone and its not 1000 dollars but feels like it and performs like it.

Have no fear, the T16000M joystick can be reconfigured to a left-handed version. But sadly Thrustmaster doesn't make left-handed versions of their TWCS Throttles (maybe if enough lefties pestered them to make left-handed throttles as a made-to-order item?).

if you are looking for a good budget stick, i wont recommend these in the videos, i can recommend the turtle beach velocity one flightstick its very good quality, has flaps and throttle and a lot of more features, it is only 125 which is a very good price. if you are looking for a yoke DONT GET THE SAITAK. the velocity one is again, on of the best on the markets comes with a throttle too and it is a little bit more (329).
That stick wasn't out at the time. Also the VKB Gladiator NXT is the same price.

I've been using the Extreme 3D pro for decades and apart from the hat switch down feature not working and the joystick slightly swaying (easily fixed with deadzone adjustment) it works perfectly. Overdue for an upgrade tho

The Warthog is a good HOTAS... BUT... you need to do a bit of work to make it a great HOTAS. The flashing on the Joystick for example is what causes the horrible “sticktion” that a lot of Warthog drivers hate. You can fix it by opening up the throttle base (VERY carefully as not to break any wires) and remove all the original grease (it’s crap), sand down the flashing marks gently so as not to cause flat spots and the put some new plastic friendly grease onto the ball before putting it all back together. Sounds hard but it’s not and the joystick feels TONS better afterwards.
Oh and be careful with the pinky switch... it’s delicate as anything and can get easily damaged and as it’s a Thrustmaster special (they couldn’t fit in a full sized toggle switch in the reduced sized left throttle handle so they fitted a full sized toggle switch lever onto mini toggle switch body... a true Frankenstein!).

The Logitech yoke is a must avoid. Aside from the dead zones it also aggressively loses center, and there it no way to calibrate it out.
I agree. Before that was one of the only yokes available for entry. Now with Honeycomb and others coming up I'd avoid.

Hi, unrelated, but I saw you have your microphone facing top towards you. Now while that will work mostly fine if you set it to the omnidirectional pickup pattern, to not lose any audio quality, you actually speak into it from the side (the side where the you can see the "Blue" Logo) , to speak into the membrane(s) directly. You can then also use it with cardioid pattern and reduce room reverberation pick up.

You have no business doing a vid on flight sticks without trying the Warthog HOTAS at least once. I'm not saying you don't know what you're talking about, but FFS, it's an industry standard. It's not without its flaws, but it's the best stick/throttle combo out there. And don't give me shit about the price. It's worth it.
Very hard decision. A yoke would be nice and comfortable but offers fewer buttons, less versatile since fighter jets use a side stick layout, Airbus uses a side stick, and it's a more widespread option. I just don't know since I am going to play MFS2020 a lot so a sidestick might get uncomfortable.
What kind of aircraft do you enjoy flying the most?
OK. First off, the Honeycomb is a good yoke, far better than the Saitek but it has flaws. I even tried to get some reaction from Honeycomb to my issue but no reply was forthcoming, nada. That's not very polite so I set out to find my own solution. The issue is that the pitch control, during fine movements in the flare, is slightly jerky, or sticky but definitely not smooth. This is a real shame because they already have the solution partially licked by using linear bearings on the double rail guide mechanism under the hood. They strangely proceed to use a nylon bush to guide the yokes spindle and I discovered that this is where the stickiness comes from. As an engineer, and always trying to improve a product already on the market, I dismantled the yoke and removed the spindle boss that the shaft of the yoke runs through. I removed the nylon bush and replaced it with a linear bearing after a little turning and reworking and it has transformed the yoke. No more jerky, sticky resistance to contend with. These linear bearings are SO cheap, under £10 for 12 number, linear bearings !! They out perform the nylon bush by miles. I fly a real world GA aeroplane and don't expect a jerky action and now my Honeycomb yoke copies the feel more accurately. I would urge Honeycomb to make this improvement in manufacture. It will not be an expensive thing to do. I'd be quite happy to convert the yokes of anyone interested in making this undoubted improvement to their simulator experience. I'd also be happy to talk to Honeycomb as well, if they are interested in improving their product.

I have a Thrustmaster T-Flight Stick X for PC/PS3.
Still using a CH FS Yoke that works perfect but...you have to modify it when new. Take it apart and toss those stock CH "return" springs which are ridiculous in the amount of tension. I went to HD and bought a much lighter pair and they work great--some have had good success going the rubber band route too. Next with case open I use white lithium grease on the parts that control the elevator and the shaft itself. Don't think that just spraying some WD40 on the yoke shaft front and back on the outside of the case will work--it won't.
Why buyers of this yoke have to do this is beyond me. My last CH Yoke was about ten years old before a potentiometer went south and induced a slight turn even when perfectly calibrated.
Awesome gear. I use the Logitech x56 with Thrustmaster MFD Cougars. Once you catch the bug, it's got you. But one audio tip, the Blue Yeti is a front address microphone. So you speak into the front, not the top. Audio OCD was triggered. Lol

Surprised no mention of CH Products. I have both their yoke and pedals. No complaints. (Edit) I also have the Logitech X52 for fighter or space sim controls.
Logitech 3D tends to lose its sensitivity over time especially the rudder axis. At which point no amount of calibration helps. You’ve no choice but to junk it unless you or someone you know can fix its innards.

The Extreme Pro has big problems with the twist rudder. The Thrustmaster 16000 is marginally better but its throttle is sadly terrible because it's sticky. A lot more buttons, though.
The Extreme 3D Pro is nice but I like the wireless version the Freedom 2.4 better
I do not recommend Saitek..had one for 8 years and it was not good since brand new. Really bad precision, since I 've tried fixed base sim in sim centre, I lost any hope. I 'd love to try Honeycomb one, but lost my FSX after one bloody MS10 update and wasnt able to recover it, so I gave up :(. Will start my real licence soon :). But sims are such a great hobby ! Question on the Saitek Throttle Quadrant: You were only using one but I had two sets so I could run my twins as well as modify for three and four engine jets. In X-Plane 11 however, it would only recognize one as the Saitek and the other was some generic name. It made it hard to program the controls plus, when I unplugged them and connected them again later, X-Plane renamed them, thus screwing up the profiles I had made. Just wondering if you ever had that issue and, if so, how to perhaps surmount the issue. Thanks.

Do you think you'll use more yoke planes or stick? Either way you'd be fine. But for example if you'll fly a yoke plane 70% of the time you might want to get a nicer yoke and then maybe a lower end stick to use sometimes.

Amechi Amanugi Hi no worries! You’re actually the first person to ever ask about them. They are called Tix Clocks. Each light in the four boxes represents the numbers of the time. It really stops you from forgetting the time because you have to think for a second. I guess they’re really hard to find now. A company called ThinkGeek used to sell them.

Ahh, the Throttle is on the base of the T16000. I always thought you need to buy the seperate Throttle.
Buttergolem yeah they always market them together. But yeah you can use it as the throttle, flaps, or spoilers. Whatever you would like. I like to use it as the throttle. It stays in place too. Some throttle axis’s twitch a little in the sim.

Logitech/Saltek yoke and other flight sim hardware they make is crap. I avoid Logitech like a plague now. Before Saltek got bought out by Logitech Saltek used to make a pretty decent yoke back in the late 1990's/early 2000's and was based on the Cessna design. Now since Logitech bought Saltek the yoke feels cheap, clunky and made with poor quality electronics and clearly was all put together and barely tested in a Chinese sweatshop. Had at least two Logitech yokes fail on me within weeks apart of each other and a Logitech stick that died on me inside of a month. I upgraded to the Honeycomb yoke and it blows the Logitech yoke clean out of the water. Also Thrustmaster makes a few sticks that also surpass any lower end Logitech stick. To me worst to best from first to last is: Logitech/Saltek, CH Products, Thrustmaster, Honeycomb and lets not forget RedBird. RedBird is prem quality but way out of most peoples price range. The RedBird yoke alone is $800 but its all made of alloy and sturdy plastics. For the cost and quality the Honeycomb yoke is the best by far.
Virple is impossible to buy in the U.S. and cost $150+ USD just to ship takes forever and is such a hassle few will jump threw the impossible hassle & hoops to get there products winwing is even worse and pre orders aren't going to process for 6 months which means you have to order now and you can have it next year….maybe…...

What I'm curious about is will any flight simulator hardware work on the Xbox Series X when Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 launches? I would just build a PC to ruin flight sim, but the Series X will be more financially accessible.
I am going to wait for the Oct/Nov release of Series X but given that RDNA2 graphics.appear to be equal to Nvidia 2080 specified as ideal by MS and zen 2 cpu is at least as good as Ryzen 5 specified as recommended I would expect Series X to be capable of at least middle settings and fast load with its ssd and DDR6 RAM. It does have 3 USB ports one of which I would use for wireless mouse and keyboard so if you get short of usb sockets you may need a usb hub for some hardware! If you plan on buying a 4K tv or monitor ensure you choose one with HDMI 2.1 to take full advantage of Series X advanced frame rate and speed! Regarding hardware flight controls if I had a large budget I would probably go for Honeywell Yoke + quadrant + rudder pedals but the Thrustmaster Airbus sidestick looks good and there is an economical combined package of Yoke + quadrant now announced! You can then decide if you want separate pedals and which type or use the sidestick for rudder Control!

I don't know for sure, but usually things are pretty safe using suction cups. They similarly use them to pull dents out of cars without removing paint.
