- SRT films a trip report on Aso Boy! travelling from Kumamoto to Beppu with JR Kyushu along lines such as the Hohi Line. Watch to find out more about the entire journey and is it underrated? Train model: Kiha 183-1000 DMU (it's powered by diesel, not electric)

@@gardaostanov9394 This train only runs on random days (check the website) and yes, you have to reserve a ticket via JR Kyushu's Website
Thank you so much for sharing, I have a plan to ride Aso Boy from Beppu to Kumamoto. Just asking, in your opinion, is it too tiring to travel on a train for 3 hours?
