Wouldn't this be grand if it was digitally cleaned up or AI(?) for the visual...but the sound is pretty good. Though I suspect Taj Mahal could cut through any sub par recording. But man oh man. This is one of the coolest things on UA-cam. Taj, Jesse Ed Davis, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty and some dude named uh, Joe Harrison ? He's pretty good, too. 😎 And a last thought that occurred to me that made me sad. With all of today's bullsh't racial division, DEI crap, and anti-Semitism, on this magical night, a Black man, a Native American, a Jewish man, a British man, and a bunch of white dudes got together on a small crowded stage and for nearly two glorious hours no one in that building was thinking about anything other than what a fab group of musicians, singers and entertainers these guys were. No agenda, no insipid message, no political comments...just pure bliss.

Sherry and I were there that momentous night. I bought the band a round of drinks and we were invited back stage where we met George, Bob and Taj. I could have died and gone to heaven and been a happy man. It was the best concert experience in my 68 years. Long live Taj and the rest of them...

This event was pivotal and very, very important to John Fogerty's solo career. Rock and roll is all about capturing the moment. Proud Mary is Bob Dylan's favorite song. If Bob and John did not met that moment John's life could have ended in fatal sorrow and misery. Bob told John to sing Proud Mary to sing that moment after fifteen years of not singing it.

Jim Ehinger on keys 🎹 After leaving Buffalo to find his fame and fortune in L.A., Jim Ehinger was the keyboardist of choice to play on albums and/or tours with musical greats such as Coco Montoya, Maria Muldaur, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, Taj Mahal, George Harrison, Steven Stills and Bob Weir. His rendition of "Rhapsody in Blue" opened the 1984 Olympics in LA and he served as Dennis Quaid's piano coach for the movie "Great Balls of Fire."
His performance on "At This Moment" with Billy Vera and the Beaters helped propel the tune to be a million selling number one record.
Ten more years in NYC saw Jim serve as musical director for B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill and for the Mayer Theater in addition to his playing with other greats.
Jim now can be heard playing in local clubs in the WNY area along with top blues or R&B talent.

Michael Krogsgaard's definitive book "Positively Bob Dylan" lists all the players PLUS "unknown guitar player". My friend Steve Payne, a fine guitar player who know lives in Chepstow, Wales, was living in L.A a at the time, and was regular player at the Palamino. He was that man.....
