    Hi Ashfaq Sir, ur videos excellent always. Thanq, here my doubt is, can't we get direct clone VM option by right-click on existing VM instead of vmdk, vmx copying....etc, as in VCenter 5.5 client

    Isnit possible to clone a powered on VM? I am facing an issue where cloned VM is pointing to source VM's VMDK and Can't power it on. Please help

      Yes, we can clone the powered-on VM through vCenter. Refer ua-cam.com/video/nlRMfN8AgR8/v-deo.html

    When the clone is complete, can you make the changes in the hard disk setting from thick to thin provision?

    • @VirtualTechBox

      You cannot convert VM's HDD from Thick to Thin. You will have to do the V2V for that.

    New cloned VM disk is using the parent vmdk ? Is this linked clone? And does not ESXi 6.7 has clone option from right click vm "clone vm " option ?

    • @VirtualTechBox
      @VirtualTechBox  3 роки тому +1

      New Cloned VM is independent, It is not using the parent vmdk. It is not the linked-clone also. For cloning the VM by right click you need vCenter, this video actually explains how to clone VM on a standalone host. If you want to see how to clone VM by right-clicking/through vCenter then refer to video "ua-cam.com/video/nlRMfN8AgR8/v-deo.html".

    Good, can u run both vms of that host at the same time?

    • @VirtualTechBox
      @VirtualTechBox  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, we can. We will have to apply a different IP to the new VM.

      You cannot clone the template with this method. You can only clone VM.
