Great review. When the light is plugged in, the Obulb's only work on white. When the lamp isn't plugged in, the Obulbs retain whatever color/flashing combo you set it on before sticking on the charger/magnet. That'll be my preferred usage method.
Heya Chris! To answer your question. No, the Obulb MCs doesn't work in sensor mode with the Nightour. Wish it did though! I've been playing with all of my flashlights and this thing and so far there is no other lights "currently" in production that work with the base other than those specified. My Nightour actually replaced my desk lamp after it arrived. I've just finished upgrading everything from the floor up. New to me Antique desk with tempered glass top, Logitech Mechanical keyboard (that came with a phone stand), Logitech MX Master 3, new 25" Lenovo monitor, leather desk pad. Totally changed my workspace and the Nightour fits in perfectly. Oh, and double back taped my Atolla USB 3.0 Hub right in front of the monitor and the laptop is now hiding out of sight as is my 4tb external hard drive. Used to be a cluster "F" of a set up. Finally on the porch with the big dogs lol. Where are you using your Nightour? Cheers my Friend! Zip~
Ah I was hoping the sensor would work. Oh well. I’m using the Nightour on my nightstand in my bedroom. I put it on a dark blue color at night and turn off all of the other lights. I love this thing.
Great review! I was on the fence until you explained the switch, so thanks for that. They have it bundled w/ an Obulb for just $4 right now, so I think I'll finally pull the trigger on this lamp. I am 100% confident this lamp will be $10 cheaper next month, because that happens nearly every time I buy something on sale from Olight, LOL.
Amazing lamp- most versatile bulb, lamp, gadget thing ive seen and used by far. All functions, and options are well thought out. Best part for me was buying the obulb pro as well to add to the lamp. It is app controlled and bigger/brighter than my older obulb mc. The pro seems to pair better and stays on when removed from lamp. Wish they had a better switch system but once you figure it out its smooth.
Part of me says that this thing just looks awesome and I would love to have it... but the rest of me says that it just isn't practical for everyday use and is not worth the price as it is.
Good job on the review Crispy!👍 I have one of these lamps on the way since my desk lamp took a dump awhile back. Lots of features on this device although I think it looks a little goofy. You definitely pointed out a few of the tech pros and cons.

As usual the light is already sold out before the sale actually started I had a chance because I can buy 3 days early but I just wasn't sold on it . I'll Wait for the pro model lol
How about instead of spouting out incorrect info to seem self important you check your facts and provide information with some value. If not, stop lying. You just said you didn't want to get one, so how would you know if it was sold out for the regular sale? They did sell out of the pre-sale lamps but plenty of people who were interested were able to get one on the actual sale when it went live. Go work for a shitty news agency if you insist on providing bullshit info.
Where I live, the “official retailer” sells only older models of their flashlights so it may be a while yet before these lamps are accessible through whatever official channel this seems to be. Nice review in any case.
Olight missed the target on this one. They could have made it collapsible, with a expandable base, and lose the disco mood lights. It could have been a very useful overlanding/camping utility light. As it is, its a pass.

It’s found a permanent spot next to my bed. With the Obulb on the head. I love it.
