It is not a genius level movie, it is an entertainer with a message and some exaggerated situations and acting. Queen, Kahani and Dor were better movies in terms of overall story telling and restrained acting.

Aamir Khan is such a good actor. He chooses movies that brings light to a lot of social issues. I like most of his movies. Taare Zameen Par is another great movie! It's about a dyslexic child dealing with people who aren't aware with his condition.

you guys did a really nice review i loved it. the pee part was about seniors ragging new students but aamir Khan used his knowledge to teach him a lesson. i can understand in America you're not used watch long film but in India it's normal because in Bollywood they add every flavor of entertainment to make it a complete package of all usually and when it's aamir Khan movie he address very important social issue as cherry on top. once again i loved it

I quit engineering after watching 3 idiots . That was the best day of my life this movie gave me strength to stand up to my parents (although I got beaten and insulted for it) but hey 4 years later I love my life .
Next film u should watch is andhadhun! You guys seemed to love that trailer and the movie is way more mind blowing than the trailer! The whole entire movie will keep u on the edge of your seat! Best movie of 2018 for sure!

Rick seems to understand indian movies better. Korbin is subconsciously comparing American acting traits with indian acting. Guys understand the cultural differences. A lot of indians also think of American actors as superficial and unnatural.

Aamir Khan makes great movies. Taare Zameen Par (Every child is special) is one gem of a movie made by Aamir Khan.

The thing that happened to the character who wanted to do photography and had the talk with his dad, I had that talk in real life. I've been in his place. And I thought my dad would disown me or worse hate me. But he reacted the same way, when I told him engineering was making me suicidal. He was laughing, told me why am I taking this so seriously and to go for what I wanted to do. I started bawling on the phone. I owe my dad so much.
I like this reasoning of "acting is over the top because the story is being told from memory". A really new perspective of seeing things.

Oh no. Caste system has been challenged for couple 1000 years. It was based on grouping people on the basis of work they did. Priests and Kings upper caste, Businessmen middle caste, shoemakers and labourers lower caste. It's like in every society, everyone isnt really equal. But later it was corrupted as they started to base it upon birth. That has been challenged for many years and that's the reason lower caste people get reservations in schools, colleges, work etc. Almost 68% of seats in My state are reserved for them, so basically upper caste are the minority now.
you answered your own question... for more than thousand years this castism and segregation happened right? so it happends for 60 years for rest of the people and suddenly its a problem lmao

how can there be 68% reservation for "lower caste" and still almost all the top jobs are held by the so called "upper caste" ? even the lower level jobs are mostly held by the "upper caste". how come all the upper caste assholes exaggerate reservation percentage? your claim is 68% another guy yesterday told me it was 50% some other guy said 75% whats the actual percent of reservation? 15%
according to govt websites the reservation for lower caste is only 15% then why the fuck are you right wing guys always giving false info to present yourselves as victims when it is the other way round?

India is moving away from over the top plots and people bursting into music to good filmmaking and genuine bringing change types. Movie makers have realized that the Indian audience has matured quite a bit and so are the films. I'm also seeing a lot of social and political issues brought out in movies and movie makers seemed to have realized the impact it has on their audiences. Loving the strong female lead movies like Manikarnika, Queen, Mary Kom. Personal favorite of the year--URI!!!!

Gangs of Wasseypur should be the next movie you watch simply because it will destroy each and every stereotype you have for Indian movies. It is arguably the best Indian movie in the past decade. FYI- It's a gangster thriller drama

Sarab it’s not the best movie of the decade. Far from it. There was Lunch box , Ugly, Lootera, Haider, Kaminey , Talwar, queen etc. Much more accomplished films in their own rights. Gangs of Wasseypur was a pop culture Icon, like the Godfather for India...Pretty amazing film though. Dialogues were the best and the second part was pleasantly tight in terms of storytelling.

The education system in India is Stone age. Every person expects you to be a doctor or engineer first then decide what you want to do in your life. From past 5-6 years things are getting better but rural areas remain the same. And yeah we do actually have professors with Virus like personality.

The professor's virus character is very real. In engineering colleges we have very strict profressors. Let's just not limit it to engineering colleges but students here might've definitely come across one such teacher. Keeping aside the slightly comical parts, watching his performance reminded me of my professors whom I can never forget. You should watch the making scenes of the movie to know what thought process went behind making this character

Our Indian films don't have only one genere ....They are mixture of many genre...So while watching Indian film don't go with preconceived notion that it will be strictly follow one genre....Nd songs are part of story telling..A full experience

I'm sorry, but Boman Irani (Virus) is a brilliant actor. Maybe you need to watch more of him but I'm sure you'll love him. He is definitely underrated. His character is supposed to be a slap on every engineering professor's face because most of them literally bully the students.

I loved the photographer scene too.I wrote during trailer reaction that this movie can make you cry and smile.Cast system is seen differently now by youth.There are real people like Virus. Students deal with it in real lives. Thats why 3idiots is so loved by Indians cause we dealt with such pressure in school itself!!! You can imagine it resonated especially the song All is well lyrics saying about scoring 99% in exams. Look up the english version of all is well(without quirky music its very depressing for me ). We needed this film during that time.3hrs is fine for us. Great reactions 😁

Virus and the guy who wants Rancho to sign his defeat are the typical personalities you get to see in nearly every educational institutions here in India. However I know it might seem over the top to non-Indians because of their intense behavioral traits.

Wow I just simply love this channel, I have seen n number of UA-camrs who have done n number of trailers/ scene reaction of a Bollywood movies. Even shitty movies or scenes.

In India we have an unofficial language of our own we call Hinglish. Although not an actual language, there is actual support for it on apps like Google keyboard and SwiftKey keyboard. It is a combination of English and Hindi. That's how Indians talk, we never talk in Hindi or English, we always mix the 2 and talk in Hinglish.
One of a few movies that I have watched countless times over the years. Another one is Okuribito ( Japanese )
