After swinging the sword in the backyard:
"There's a crackhead staring at me"
It was probably one of his subscribers
They were probably thinking the same thing lol
A couple of thoughts on the tool: The side of the shovel is sharpened to use for cutting wood or roots. The knife appears to be pretty lame except for the following scene:
You are stranded in the woods and run across another hunter who is lost. He has a 6 pack of cold beers, but no way to open them. You whip out the knife, and using the bottle opener on it, open the beers, You both get drunk and stumble out of the woods looking for more beer. Simple eh?
Ya i guess if you call 3 beers "drunk"
He's talking about Canadian beers
@@gumwarsgaming1328 Our beer is only 5%, not sure if thats strong or weak compared to where your from lol
@@peteluis2849 I live in Canada as well but we got stronger beer, I think American average % is 4
@@gumwarsgaming1328 average is like 4 and a half, but some of the garbage beer goes up to 11, tastes like shit, but you only need like 3

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha

Crazy how my guy hasnt changed since all his time on youtube. Madd respect for you and your vids bro
It ain't been that long.
Right? You think they would have gotten better

Would love to see some tests again after properly sharpening the knife and shovel blade!
I agree, it's not that difficult to sharpen the blades. I would expect as much anytime I buy something of that nature.
I agree
"Some crackhead staring at me" lmao. *stares back with a katana in his hand*
They got scared af. They ran away big Time xdd
he did have them cheese bugers
They were never seen again.
(Not considering the mason jars)
He deffo thought if this crackhead comes at me ima drop him/her
Thanks for the content Tyler. I’m stuck in lockdown with 4 siblings a Step dad that’s ignorant asf and a mom that doesn’t stop bickering. The breaks I get in your vids help a lot. Don’t stop being awesome.

Tyler: There's a crackhead staring at me
"Crackhead": What is that crackhead doing swinging a sword around
*insert Spiderman pointing at Spiderman meme*
He calls someone else the crackhead when he is holding a sword and cutting water bottles 😂
Cutting bottles with swords isn't crackheaded.
I dont want to think who he calls crack head.
What's funny is that he lives in a neighborhood with obvious crackheads.
How else do you open Water bottles?
Maybe someone wanted a water bottle
The cold steel “special forces” shovel is a tank. You can’t beat them for $30. (Also the edge on the shovel is supposed to be a hatchet)

Well played.
“There was some crackhead staring at me” says the dude in his backyard, talking to nobody, slicing water bottles with a katana and shovel 😂
"I hate to cut the box, because then I don't have a place to store it."
*looks at Tyler's garage cribs episode*
I don't think you're going to have trouble finding a place to store it, bud.
That “crackhead” was probably a damn viewer 😂

The 90° is for digging trenches. Believe me it works. It’s how you usually use your E-Tool
Tyler should test different brands of hot glue
I'm actually all about this idea😅 it's hard to find a hot glue that can hold up to different things. I can tell u that gorilla glue brand hot glue is horrible

A whetstone would be the one more thing this shovel package needs.
This is just 16 minutes of Tyler roasting an item and encountering a crack head
This is a bit more that what was standard issue to the army in ww2 the blade on the side was for cutting roots and such and as well they would keep it sharpened for a defensive melee weapon
"There's a crackhead staring at me."

Oh sorry there was a crack head staring at me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@winterdaboi4284 Yeah lol
@@graysoncrigger3912 specifically while holding a katana, about to execute 5 water bottles.
I came here just to see Tyler dig. Thanks for the continued content through the madness!
My guess would be that small knife is more for a spear type action for maybe hunting shallow water fish or if you trap a small animal to eat quick easy kill with a reach.
Well if the survivor is experienced with knives they could just sharpen it
5:55 WHEN HIS KNIFE FELL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
HOW HE LOOKED AT THE CAMERA
My favorite series. Your channel is like a cross between CrazyRussianHacker and old King of Random.
king of random is for children I feel lately. No where near as good as Tyler
@@christopherspencer4180 Yeah ever since Grant passed away. I feel like the just crank out bad vids
Yeah they turned his channel into a cash grab for kids..
@@Ethanthefenceman I'm not sure if they "meant" to turn it into a full on kids channel but I agree it's just not nearly as cool without Grant. Grant was willing to mess with mad science, and do projects that were often times big and almost always at least somewhat dangerous (which is what made them so cool) mixed in with some smaller scale shenanigans such as match head rockets (which I tried out myself and they are as fun IRL as they look in the video) Sure he had his random videos too (he was and is the King of Random!) like making gummies out of Kool-Aid but even then the quality of these videos were always incredible! The new King of Random channel just doesn't seem to have that same charm, it seems more like they are saying "look this is happening, I don't know why and I don't really know how to explain it" more often then not.
But just the same, I am grateful them being on the channel keeps Grant's legacy alive. May he forever rest in peace.
The 90 degree locking angle is actually really useful for if you need to dig into dirt at an angle or into rougher ground
Man! I love seeing your subscriber count go up! Good job Tyler! You deserve it. One of my all time favorite UA-cam channels. 🤘🤘
90 degree shovel is very very useful when you are to dig a hole fast. you can kind of chop the ground. It also is way more useful as you do not have to stand up
It's called an Entrenching Tool. It's used for digging Fox Holes. They have been around since WWII. Now, they are updated like cheap survival knives with fishing gear that never catch fish, survival crap that will likely get you killed trying to use it, and possibly a cheap fire starter that will likely actually start a fire!
Over the decades, I've had 3 of them break on me, just shovelling sand, attempting to dig out my 4WD from a wash. The ONE little shovel that HASN'T broken, is a simple cheap wooden handled Garden Spade, that I have always also carried in the back of my Jeep.
first thing I notice: sounds like that box is full of broken glass
I believe that this tool is designed to be used while ice fishing. The angle grinds on the blades are intended to be used on the frozen lakes ice.
I haven't seen the wish shovel in use before however I know the design is used by military forces as a practical all in one tool that can dig a trench.

Your English isn't bad, I understood everything you said! You did a great job!
Here is what you said, if it would have been 100% grammatically correct English:
"Dear Tyler, I have been really enjoying this channel. Never stop making these sort of videos. Keep up the good work!!!!! "
And you got "I am from Belgium so my English isn’t that good.
" exactly right! No errors at all!
You did awesome with your English and that's epic you are from Belgium! :)
Magnus Jarngrimrson thx I really love you’re comment.
Nice review. One thing I find about these reviews is that they are done from a very generic position ie "is this thing any good?" rather than a specific case scenario ie keeping it in the car for those "just in case" situations in winter driving on long road trips. I'd be interested to see it reviewed in specific case situations like that and see if the opinion on it changes at all. How well does it work for digging your car out of s snow drift or get you that emergency fire (ie dig a hole, cut/split some brush, spark up a fire)? A real-world sort of thing.
I bought this shovel as a emergency tool for my SUV - it´s very compact with a lot of functions. Maybe you be pleased to have it in some kind of situation!
Or I could just buy each item with better quality individually and still have it all super small and portable.
"THERE WAS SOME CRACKHEAD STARING AT ME!" IM FREAKING DEAD I LOVE YOU TYLER!!!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I think it might be better than a Coghlans folding camp shovel. The handle is longer and it seems to lock the shovel better. I have a Coghlans that does not lock the head well and makes it difficult if not dangerous to use. Similarly the Colman shovel handle is too short but the head does lock in well.
Almost all the sharp edges on the cheap shovels and knives are dull. Sharpening is a given. The question is how well the blades hold an edge.
I like the additional tools, although in the wilderness there is not much use for a glass breaker.
The cases might be another issue. Most of the cheap cases start falling apart right away if not out of the box.
As far as bringing it backpacking it might be prohibitively heavy and bulky but if it is durable it might be useful on a prospecting trip. Having said that I wouldn’t buy it without having reliable reviews from someone who used it for that purpose.
Hey Tyler, great job on the video. I just want to say that the knife doesn't have a saw it's actually called serrations. The difference is that serrations are for rope and food such as bread, fish, and steak. And a was is for wood. 👍
The bird outside is singing an entire album 😂
If it's a little dull, you can always sharpen it. Shovel blade is likely more for chopping and not "cutting". Nice video.
Stephen Hawkins: The universes was started with an explosion called the “Big Bang”
Me: no, the universe was started with the opening phrase “alright guys”
Love how you have kept up the same quality straightforward content all this time, keep it up!
I came across your channel a couple months ago and I’m glad I did !
Little late but the sharpened shovel blade on Any survival shovel is meant to be a hatchet not a hand knife... That's what the hand knife is forb
I don't know what steel those cheap knives are made out of but I always wondered if it is possible to sharpen and heat treat to make it better and more practical.
1, That 90° adjustment is to use it as a pick when digging.
2, The knife is cheap crap, throw it away. Even if you did hone a sharper edge, it wouldn't stay sharp. Stick with a good quality belt knife for survival (I recommend ColdSteel dot com. More expensive, but for very good reasons.)
3, The edge on the shovel head is not a cutting knife, it's a chopping blade (hatchet) for chopping thicker pieces of firewood.
4, You do not have 2 different handles. They attach together to make one long handle for more leverage.
5, Anything labeled "survival" is a cheap crap gimmick. If you really need a folding shovel, go to the Army surplus. It doesn't have the gimmicks and will be sturdy enough for your Grandkids to inherit and use.
I like how simple and real these reviews are. I thought this was pretty good especially since the only real problem was how dull the blades are.
I love the predictions! Started noticing this lately!
Pre: 2 maybe 3. 2 at the max
Post cut 3: way more then I thought
Love it!
9:30 - 9:40 You can hear a man yelling "Hey" with more rambling after.
would the knife be good enough metal to sharp it? side note since you already own it would you attempt to sharpen it and see how it goes?
The knife isn't supposed to cut things like rope it is supposed to be used as a spear
So if you sharpen the blades would it be pretty good to take camping?
The shovel was probably sharper due to a bur from the bad grind
I like it but it seems a little cheep. You should try sharping it then do the bottles again. It’s always nice to see you do your videos. Keep up the good work!!
"There was some crackhead staring at me" hahaha! Best part of the video
You gotta scrap off the black coating on the ferro rod to create sparks.
They make the side of the shovel sharp because it doubles as a weapon therefore making it more lethal
I think it would be cool to see Tyler make videos about survival stuff. Whether it’s his thing or not.
K T Unfortunately, it looks like we’re going to need it pretty soon.
Harry Manilow good point.
How about if you sharpened the knifes on it?
I think it's pretty common for new knives to require sharpening. Companies don't want to be responsible for excessive steel removal.
Tyler you know what you need when reviewing weird products like this? Sound effects! Like really over the top 1970s kung fu movie swooshes and stuff.
I can literally just binge your videos all day long and rewatch them over again lol
Those shovels are something you toss in a bug out bag because you can't fit a high quality tool of every type in a bag. You should sharpen them first and also put a small knife sharpener in the bug out bag as well, like a Smith's Pocket Pal.
The sharp edge on the shovel is for splitting wood.
"some crackhead was staring at me"
Crackhead's pov: "wtf is that guy doing?"
I laughed so hard when you said ‘there’s a crack head staring at me’ I’m getting funny looks from the wife now! 😂
A lot of those Chinese blades come unsharpened and you have to do it yourself. I had one come with literal no edge at all. Blade had to be ground down.

If you need something like this for whatever reason go to a military surplus shop and get an etool
"There was some crackhead staring at me" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 good God that absolutely killed me 😂😂😂😂😂😂
It looks good for some spear fishing too.
I dont think the blade problem is that it's not sharp but more or less is short . Less cutting surface
You gotta clean the paint off of the flint before it'll work.
The side of the shovel being sharp is more a combative choice its ment to be a weapon if needed
Maybe before heading to a survival situation u could sharpen the knife I mean everything about wish is made and meant to be cheap
I think he's more concerned about it being dull because it means the steel they used is probably garbage. If they didn't even bother to properly sharpen it it's likely not even really good knife steel.
But I agree, he should have at least sharpened it to give it a fair chance. If you don't know how to sharpen a knife it's gonna be a looooot harder survival trip lol.
the “knife” on the shovel i think is supposed to be an ax
Blades and other sharp objects usually are delivered dull when shipped in the mail. Which is why you sharpen them once you receive them😂. So your cut tests had a handicap because you didn't sharpen the blades..
You should have sharpened it to see if it did better. Good for mabey to throw in your trunk or something for winter
I just got one. It is not sharp in shipping but anything can be sharpened. Imagine pulling razor blade sharp out of packaging.
Thanks. Looks like a good concept ruined by lack of quality. I like the screwed together component idea.
I'd suggest you sharpen knives you get off wish before use I do and they end up being a great investment 40% of the time.
T the knife is actually for spear fishing
I believe you can use it at the 90 degree angle for digging like trenches.
You can Sharpe the blades
Will it hold an edge if sharpened?
The saw blade on the knife is more suited for scaling fish, I think.
The knife was probably the same sharpness as the shovel to begin with. You just dulled it more with the cardboard box before you tried it on the paracord. (But, I agree... they should've sharpened it a LOT better than it was.)

Blade on the shovel is for whacking small branches off but in think you were saving that blade for your water bottles.
