Hi Rachel! I love your content! I’m a first year school psych student in California. I find these videos encouraging. Sometimes I doubt myself because there sooo much information. But I’m not giving up. 😊
Honestly not that much! I try to not work past my hours if I don’t have to. Or I’ll do hours past work for professional developments (we have to get about 20 hours each year)
@@rachelferagne2188 That's comforting to hear. I know that working outside of our appointed hours happens occasionally. It is so good to hear that it does not happen that much for you. I've already earned a master's degree so getting a second master's for school psychology would be a huge investment. Wouldn't want to commit to it if the work demand would require a bunch of time outside of my appointed hours. I'm hoping that if I were to pursue the degree, my workload would not lend itself to a lot of work outside of my appointed hours. Thanks so much for responding and sharing your experience with us
So I’m not the smartest crayon in the box, I’ve always struggled in school because of my test taking skills (2.8 GPA in university) do you think i need to be super smart to be a school psych?
@@rachelferagne2188 If I’m not the best writer, does grad school prepare me for that? PS you don’t realize how much of a help you are.. I was so lost in life until I found your videos

Thank you so much! It can feel like a lot at times, but you can do it! I felt that way so much in grad school 🙈
Hey Rachel, how frequently, if at all, do you find yourself working outside of your appointed hours?

No, many people get into grad school just based on your passion for the career and relationships you make with professors at the interviews!

How many schools are in your district that you work with?
I work mostly at the high school, but also get a few referrals each year from 3-4 other schools typically.
