I lived Young Justice, it had my favorite versions of Robin and Superboy. And I couldn't agree more about Connor and Cass, they were so perfect for each other. And yes we NEED Young Justice back
Thanks for giving that explanation of Secret cause the one episode they had her in Young Justice was really confusing on why she was there in the first place and now it makes me sad that they really never explained that she was originally part of the Team and had a much bigger role
I loved reading the Young Justice comic and In my opinion I think its better than the Young Justice cartoon. It was a fun comic book and all the characters were written very well. My fav character is Impulse because he's hilarious and there is a bit of a childlike innocence in him when he does things without thinking.
to be fair in the comics he's like 3-4 years old mixed with a14 yrs old due to growing with a virtual reality program. I loved how Sb and Robin ended up kinda being substitute for parents as well as his best friends. Their dynamic was super sweet (which made apokolips that much more heartwrenching)
YJ tv show creator: We want to make a show about JLA! DC: No, we did one of thouse. creators: How about Titans show? DC: No, we also made one about Teen Titans... Creators:Hmm... How about one about Young Justice? DC: That's ok. DC leaves the room. Creators: Ok guys let's make a JLA show about the Titans and call it Young Justice!
I got into DC thanks to the Young Justice show (and comics in general) but now that I'm a huge Tim Drake fan...I'm like...why? WHY DIDN'T THEY MAKE THE YJ SHOW ABOUT THE COMICS. WHYYYYYY.
I think the YJ TV show creation whent something like this: DC: " Ok, guys, let's do a new cartoon" Writers:" Let's make one based on the Grant Morrison's JLA" DC:"Neah, we already did a JL cartoon" Writers:" Then how about the 90's Titans" DC:" No, we also already have a Teen Titans show. What do you say about a Young Justice TV show" Writers:"Hmmm, ok ..." DC leaves the room. Writers:"Ok, guys, let's do a JLA type show about the Titans and we'll call it Young Justice"
i think they should make a cartoon about the original comic series i don't mean the ones that are on tv now i mean the originals or at least do a crossover or something
Superboy from the 90s looked a trillion times better than the Superboy we’ve had the passed 2 decades. Like, Superboy is wearing Cargo Pants fam 🤦🏽♂️ the leather jacket and hoop earring was waaaaaay more swagu
I treat the Young Justice TV show like an Elseworlds story. It was confirmed to take place on a different earth, which is why it's different from the comics. While it didn't barrow from any of the stories, I loved what they did with the characters and where the story was going as well as the maturity with the show.
The Young Justice animation, which I discovered and devoured on You Tube, was the single best superhero animation series I've yet seen. I know what its like to be devoted to a comic book series; I was nuts about Marv Wolfman's and George Perez's Teen Titans of the 80's, and the Young Justice anime pushed the same buttons, and it moved and talked too! Praise your comic books by all means, but give the anime the respect it was due. The Super Cycle originated in The Forever People, and was called the Whiz Wagon. They also introduced the Mother Box and the Boom Tube (in coordiation with The New Gods, Mr. MIracle, and Jimmy Olsen, Superman's Friend-- which was a lot better than it sounded.)
Two minutes into this video and there are already a couple more similarities between the show and the comics than you were letting on :P Don't get me wrong, the show is still the loosest of loose adaptions but you made it seem like they didn't adapt a single thing XD
I love the Young Justice comic. As you mentioned, its light hearted nature mixed with the fact it depicted teens being teens was something I seriously enjoyed. And as someone who was a fan of Teen Titans from 2007 through toward the end of the first volume of the New 52 era, I can say there was nothing like it in DC Comics. From Dante's Disco Inferno to the death of Arrowette's therapist (where after everything, she worries she will become a villain and have to get cleavage,) to parent issues and Arrowette's mother living vicariously through her, this series was amazing. While I loved Geoff Johns' run, I feel no one else was able to capture the spirit of youth effectively.
The young justice cartoon basically did the same thing with different charatcers, secret was killed by a family member and they have a bike from new genesis is just a few
I think it would have been better, if for DC Rebirth, Damian, John(New Superboy), Wally(N52) all formed the second Young Justice, instead of them being on the Teen Titans.
I like your take on this series, thanks for filling in the gaps in my YJ history. I picked it up towards the end of it's run and kept going with Teen Titans when I was younger.
and just like graduation day, the death of omen, and omen as a character, were just, sorta...glanced over. she wasn't important, no big deal. not like she was a character with some sort of development. nope she was just death fodder.
Thanks for making this video. I'm now interested in reading this comic series because I've always wondered if it was good or not but after watching this video and finding out that Peter David (Best known for his run on "The Incredible Hulk" comics and the Aquaman comics where Aquaman got a harpoon hand, a beard, and a new outfit) wrote the series, I'm now interested in reading this comic-book series. Only downside is that DC has not reprinted the entire series in some graphic novels but at least they're available digitally on comixology. Oh well.
I wish they would print young justice in a few graphic novels so I can buy them. I would buy the comics but they're so expensive buying them individually. I've read a few of them online and I love them (because the main trio are great). Oh well, I can hope.
I mean the older ones, like if they collected them in a few volumes. Oh well, if they don't I'll hopefully have enough money to buy them in the future. :3
No, that's what I'm saying, they did that in 2011 to go along with the cartoon, BEFORE the cartoon got its own comic, they released the original young justice in trade form :p
I demand DC reprint the original young justice comic again in graphic novel form or relaunch it with the original members but have the original Bart Allen appear because he's immune to time alterations or something (I don't know if that true but I read it some where)
Peter Davis is probably my favorite 'team' books writer. He had an almost perfect understanding of the characters (hell he wrote robin better than anyone who isn't Dixon for example. they weren't all bad, for example Lewis is the best TimSteph writer and is the only one (with Davis and Dixon) who made me like their relationship even without shipping it and willingham was the worst -and yet he's still better than Lobdell and Tynion- but even he had some nice writing going on here and there -scarce but there)
I've been watching comic history videos for a couple years now and haven't brought a comic yet but your enthusiasm has made finally buy one along with comicbookgirl19. great job faust
I was in my mid-20's and I LOVED the Original Young Justice.i just wished the CN network show was as fun as YJ.The closest thing on TV at the Time was Teen Titans GO!,but it didn't have the bad ass chemistry that the Original YJ series had
Young Justice 2019: Damian "Robin" Wayne Wallace "Kid Flash" west Supergirl Jamie "Blue Beetle" Reyes The New Aqualad (And you can have,The Original YJ,mentor them, like The Teen Titans mentored the Original YJ)
Honestly, i can see a show or series of movies, with this original team, with the tone of the first season of young justice, teen titans, gravity falls, amphibia, like a light show with some dark undertones, i would really like to see that.
I would like to revamp this series with the Children of the original Titans like , Lian Harper , Iris West & maybe Mari Grayson ;) . All girls, opposite of the original 3 members of young Justice.
"Drama here and there" First comic I ever read where someone flat out murdered someone, like dead dead. Issue...5? Where Harm was shot by his step father. Granted he was a bad guy, but damn.
3:47 "none of these characters had anything in common with each other" with the exception of arrowette and robin.... being they were secondary side kicks(except tim drake was more of a third stringer after Jason todd bit the big one) to mentors who were all but carbon copies of one another. batman and green arrow.
Could it be said that Young Justice captured everything fun and great about Gen13, and did it with young characters from the DC world? Teen Titans meets Gen13?
Geoff Johns literally destroyed their characters, relationships, whole generation and future. The most drastic difference in character can be seen in Superboy, but everyone else got butchered as well
If you think of it like I do, this team died in 2011, with flash point, teen titans vol 3 was a sequel to Young Justice not the previous teen titans run
Wow as a huge Teen Titans fan I have only looked into a little bit of Young Justice and never knew it was this interesting. Secret seems to be like an unofficial sidekick to the Spector kind of like Bombshell and Captain Atom
the problem with the cartoon is that it's closer to Teen Titans which was the sidekick's team. the plot is still meh (it's good for a cartoon but not that good) they also have too much of a tendency to put romance everywhere and use it mostly for character development which prevents actual character development because it's only development toward the other. The comics are more about wayward children who found a place to belong and as Robin says 'Now that they found each other they hold on as tight as they can'. which is something that a lot of people missed when YJ stopped because even if the friendship and sorta family theme was still there it wasn't as strong. So when the cartoon was announced it was the chance to divert from Teen Titans. Also the writer haas no chill and though they n't speak That much about social issues but when they did they had absolutely no chill and it was awesome. There's also the thing for Tim Drake fans. For a character who was always in the shadow of Jason and was lonely, it was his first time having something akin to friends (though there are Steph and Connor Hawke on the side, there's no real friendship between Connor and Tim at the time and Steph is a love interest). It's his team. And it's actually that way for most of the members. It's a very heartwarming series and is more about characters than plot (though when there is, it's actually well done). Though I am not exactly a fan of the cassiexsuperboy couple they were fairly cute

Great video man on young justice and here's the thing though i like young justice the comic and the animated series because both series in my opinion are great but for different reasons but that's just my opinion anyways good history video and i hope you have a great day and take care man
i fell in love with these comics 2 years ago, but i read only the first 12 comics becouse it´s to hard to find them in spanish (i´m from south america). but yeah, i´m in love with Tim, Kon and Bart. they´re so cute as kids!

@ItsSuperEffective ..you make a good story teller. You are excited and passionate about the content and have fun with it. Maybe you should work as a audio book voice artist.
But I really really enjoyed this book like it was amazing lot of drama when they were growing up and I wish slobo returned to our time like people will read that but they had to leave him as a statue
The team of Tim, Cassie, Conner, and Bart is probably my favorite comic book team of all time.
mine to.
Same
Why are they always killing Donna Troy? She's been dead more than Jean Grey.
Ha ha!!
Paul L. Rogers 😂😂😂 so true
Yes!
Has she really
At this point it has become a Canon event. 😆 it sucks though.
I lived Young Justice, it had my favorite versions of Robin and Superboy. And I couldn't agree more about Connor and Cass, they were so perfect for each other. And yes we NEED Young Justice back

YASSSS!!! IT'S HAPPENING!! IT'S FREAKING HAPPENING!
secret and her brother were in the show, though I think that time around they had made it so he killed her dad before the dad killed him
Hey, I know it's late and all, but Superboy and Robin met in Robin/Superboy: World's Finest Three
I treat the Young Justice TV show like an Elseworlds story. It was confirmed to take place on a different earth, which is why it's different from the comics. While it didn't barrow from any of the stories, I loved what they did with the characters and where the story was going as well as the maturity with the show.
It was also boring and make the Justice League kind of dicks
+KidSnivy69 it was great and actually had a developing story.
Dex Starr So, the characters going through that story aren't interesting
+KidSnivy69 they were to me. wally was awesome and I loved bart allen's appearances in the show

It was the best of times. I loved Young Justice and the vibe it brought.
Thanks for making this video.

I mean the older ones, like if they collected them in a few volumes. Oh well, if they don't I'll hopefully have enough money to buy them in the future. :3

Careful with the YJ tv show shade, we don't play around when it comes to our show.
Y'all need to calm down

Lol when your favourite character is arrowette, but no ones actually gives a shit about the character.
Honestly, i can see a show or series of movies, with this original team, with the tone of the first season of young justice, teen titans, gravity falls, amphibia, like a light show with some dark undertones, i would really like to see that.
Do a history of Klarion the Witch Boy, he's a really underrated character in my opinion.
DC should start an alternate earth, entirely about the Pre 52 series' that should never have ended.
I would like to revamp this series with the Children of the original Titans like , Lian Harper , Iris West & maybe Mari Grayson ;) . All girls, opposite of the original 3 members of young Justice.
+Jesse Castro That idea actually reminds me of the Kingdom Come Teen Titans.
they were gonna do that at one point like after Flash point but then The reboot happened.
"Drama here and there"
First comic I ever read where someone flat out murdered someone, like dead dead. Issue...5? Where Harm was shot by his step father. Granted he was a bad guy, but damn.
I liked how they inserted social issues (gun registration, racism -like with the history teacher, ect...) in small portions but with so little chill.
Thanks, you presented that very well.
Conner and Cassie are my favorite DC couple I hate that DC hasn't done much to anything with this relationship
+superboyfanman123 same, they're so good together.
+superboyfanman123 On the plus side at least me and cassie still love each other.
Geoff Johns literally destroyed their characters, relationships, whole generation and future. The most drastic difference in character can be seen in Superboy, but everyone else got butchered as well

Watching this makes me realize how much was taken from the comics and put in the show.(So Happy 3rd season is happening)
Wow as a huge Teen Titans fan I have only looked into a little bit of Young Justice and never knew it was this interesting. Secret seems to be like an unofficial sidekick to the Spector kind of like Bombshell and Captain Atom
Love your videos! Please make a video for History of Catwoman!
Oh man, Young Justice is wonderful. My friends and I read it in high school A LOT. Love it forever.
So who would you have be on a new young justice team. Because many of the original young justice members (including myself) are already teen titans.
This is the 3rd time we did this
I like your passion for comics. Two thumbs up. Continue the good work.
The Young Justice comic series does look pretty rad.
Though, I still prefer the show.
the comic is better in my opinion
You're the best at what you do Faust. No doubt.
just listening to their history made me cry
I read a lot of the Young Justice comics, then the place I got them stopped getting them and I missed the ending.
Robin and Superboy met before Robin teamed with Impulse. They met in the comic Robin+Superboy where they teamed up against Metallo and Poison Ivy.
why no reply to my facts?
Also Impulse and robin met in Robin + Impulse, and Impulse and Kon in Superboy and the Ravagers
and we're back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Faust, how would you feel about Young Justice being rebooted but with completely brand new characters?🤔
The comics are SO different to the Young Justice TV show!! But I do not find them to be better like you quite obviously do.
the problem with the cartoon is that it's closer to Teen Titans which was the sidekick's team. the plot is still meh (it's good for a cartoon but not that good) they also have too much of a tendency to put romance everywhere and use it mostly for character development which prevents actual character development because it's only development toward the other.

There's also the thing for Tim Drake fans. The Young Justice cartoon is mostly based on Teen Titans (to lesser extent the Outsiders). Its has nothing to do with the source material other than the name and that's why Faust is kinda pissed with the cartoon.
Technically it has been on earth 16
+chris kamara Earth 16 is not the main DC Universe, which is what I said in this video.
+ItsSuperEffective you are right by the way can you vibe paco Ramon and Cisco Ramon plz plz plz plz
+ItsSuperEffective Great videos! Keep it up!
+ItsSuperEffective i have one question wheres aqualad?
+talkyflower1868 he is only in the cartoon
I love the TV was so good.
It has its similarities
this was my favorite teen team peter david writes great team books
Awesome video, hope you do something like this with X-Men as im finally getting into them.
i agree young justice should be back
My best comic (achievement forever evil for life) is a 1986 teen Titan comic called "we love the Titans"
I wish the show was more like the comic
I love the young justice cartoon

A Young Justice-type Aqualad should be in the New 52. Just call him "Riptide."
I think it would've been awesome if they had static shock join the teen titans and/or young justice...in the comic books anyway.
+Aaron Carter ITs just static. And he was actually a teen titan post crisis wise. Now a days they are going to sort of focus on the original milestone version of static in the upcoming milestone novels. Prime earth static it seems like they are just going to ignore him for awhile.

+Aaron Carter he was close to becoming a member in the cartoon
+Dex Starr no static did join I watched the whole thing, even though I prefer the comics than the tv shows now, I really wish they would've kept showing the series of what the teen titans and young justice are doing today.

+Ben Johann I've re-read the entire series at least once a year since 2003 :p hence why I do the annual remake of this video! Its worth picking up!!
+ItsSuperEffective love the hoodie, where can find something similar to this online?
is the blackest night able to be covered by you I enjoy the way u explain and summarize DC comics
i love this look
1:46 that resting bitch im done with your shit face is gold(not trying to be mean, i love you faust)
you might disagree with me faust but I liked young justice better than the teen titans
impulse's hair ! :)
Love your "History of..." vids. It would be awesome if you covered Kurt Darkhomle. a.k.a. (AoA) Nightcrawler.
Hey Faust, If they made a New Young Justice, Wally West could be the new Impulse. It would be a great way to use Wally.
Hey Faust there's a new show called the Shanarra and i think you'd really like it 😊
I miss them😢
I like both respectively.
I love his wig

@ItsSuperEffective ..you make a good story teller. You are excited and passionate about the content and have fun with it. Maybe you should work as a audio book voice artist.

The cartoon is a mix of teen titans comic and young justice also outsiders in season 3
Would have enjoyed reading a Young Justice / Gen-13 book in the 1990's.
But I really really enjoyed this book like it was amazing lot of drama when they were growing up and I wish slobo returned to our time like people will read that but they had to leave him as a statue
