I am not sure why gaming laptop companies keep trying to push CPU to the limit, I have an i7 10750h undervolted and underclocked to 3.4 GHz, 90% of people don't need that CPU power, I use the laptop for software engineering and everything feels ok. For gaming I am getting around 180 fps in apex and around 200 fps in overwatch, my temps are sitting at 70C while gaming
You forgot to mention when comparing A15 to F15 that 3070 also gets 10w extra power with AMD CPU. So it's not CPU only, GPU itself isn't really the same 3070 in these laptops.
Yes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with 11370H, performance is limited because of low wattage 3070, desktops with Ryzen 3 3300K and I7 7700K, which are also 4 core CPUs same to this are pushing 3060 and 3070 Desktop with no problem, yes on the limit, with 98% load, but actually thats ok for 4 core CPU to have this kind of load, still they are pushing it very well. 11370H is better than both Ryzen 3300x and 7700K.
No webcam and soldered RAM. And IDK about this one but I really hate seeing soldered wifi 6 cards. If that wifi adapter goes out or is a dud then your just screwed. It's 2021 every laptop should be able to be user upgraded and repaired. And hey man where did you get that background? That's fire.
I just need a laptop that can handle 3D modeling (what I do for school), is not too expensive and is portable enough for me to take to school and has enough power so I can maybe play apex on a lunch break. Any other recommendations or should I get this?
battery cannot be included in gaming test. never. high workforce by the GPU mean high energy consumption. which mean you cant play any video games properly without the electricity plugged in into your laptop.
Is the XPS 9500 safe to buy yet? I need a new laptop for work so it needs to be reliable. It seems to be the best windows laptop but QC issues seem rampant.
I am dying to game on pc. Have been for about 6 years. My eyes are good not great, so a larger screen would be helpful. Especially if I'm playing fps and need to see enemies creeping in the distance. If you had to pick one laptop to game on, which would it be? And do you need Internet security? I only ask because I don't know much about computers and the guys at CEX told me you don't need it if you are only gaming on it. Oh and your budget is £1300.
I have 3 lights under my monitor: the left one is to show if it is open or not, the middle one is to see if the battery is 100%. What is the left one for?
I don't see anything special about this RTX3070 laptop to justify the $1600+ price. First, it has a 4-core CPU and runs at 35W (or even higher), it may be fast single-threading but it will fall behind in multithread workload although it has the same TDP as AMD 4800HS/5800HS CPU. Second, the 80W RTX 3070 isn't significantly faster than an 80W RTX3060 and may lose to >100W RTX3060. Third, how many games will be able to reach 240FPS+ with this specs? 144Hz at a lower price should be more reasonable. Fourth, it's not really portable, it's 2.00kg, this is 2021, not 2017. So it's neither portable or powerful given the size and price. If this is a 14" 1.5-1.7kg then maybe it would be special.
Battery life is the thing that swayed me to the Dash. Kills the AMD version by a long walk. For me, laptops are for use away from power, so I look for battery life over a few FPS. I made that mistake once with an Alienware and wont be buying another laptop that needs to be close to a mains supply. If I want to sit inside and play games, I do it on my desktop which to be fair walks all over any laptop ever made, considering it's a Xeon 12 core 26 thread.
@@ZaPpaul I'm not sure if battery life on the Ryzen is significantly worse. If I remember correctly, the Ryzen 5000 laptops are more power efficient. Alienware laptops are designed specifically for gaming (max performance) and not portability so battery life isn't a focus by design. I don't think Alienware cares much about tweaking the software to preserve battery life since they target buyers care mostly about performance. Most Alienware laptops are kind of desktop replacement too, even the M15 doesn't look very portable to me, so they're supposed to be used plug in. Also, for any laptop, if you're gaming or doing heavy tasks, you have to plug in otherwise you lose performance, and battery will run out quickly too. I don't imagine you can/should play games on an unplugged laptop, most laptops last about 1h30 if you do that. If you don't plug in your laptop, then you probably use it for light tasks. In that case, you can find many laptops that have 90Whr+ battery. I don't care much about several FPS difference because I usually tune down settings to get a good framerates. However, the 80W RTX3070 isn't great value because the difference between laptop and desktop RTX3000 is very large especially in this case. This is like going back to the times before Pascal (GTX 970M) when gaming laptops are expensive and far behind the desktop. Given the price, this Dash isn't good value.
I been watching your videos, you are awesome, so informative about gaming computers. I have never own a gaming laptop, I do travel a lot for work so I been thinking about getting one for Christmas, which is the top 3 laptops for gaming? I dont want to spend more than 2k US Dollars
I agree with what you said but to add to it the biggest problem I experience with 4 cores is stuttering in games and that's with a 1660 ti. Some games such as control, mafia definitive edition, star wars Jedi fallen order, NFS heat stutter so badly with i5-9300h that it's unplayable. That's in addition to potentially 26fps being lost in certain games. In hardware canucks video he noticed this stuttering in doom eternal. And in some games it got outperformed by an rtx 2060 laptop !! Great video btw

One Huge advantage the Intel version has is Thunderbolt 4. Without it, external monitor are limited to 100 -120hz over HDMI. Thunderbolt 4 and a USB-C to DisplayPort cable give you full 144hz or even 240hz which is not possible with HDMI 2.1.

I'v seen enough and i'm totally satisfying this laptop worth all the money you put
I'm getting mixed reviews from everyone.. 🤦🏾♂️ should I get or not, it's 2100$ it's not cheap and it being a 3070 doesn't seem to hold up
Not for 2.1k
Completely agree with ya...
And of course "F" for intel :)
This laptop is disappointing IMO. Msi gf65 ( 6 core i7) (75w) outperforms the 80w verision of 3060 with this 4 core. The 4 core bottlenecks the gpu
Hi, how do you get the animated wallpaper? Thanks for the video. Didn't know there is Dash and Gaming version of TUF laptop till now.
I found F15 at local store but not A15. Am going to buy F15 in ten hours. Is it a bad decision? I have no other choices. Let me know please..
Is ASUS TUF F15 Gaming Laptop good for architecture works? for designing.
The A15 with the Ryzen 7 5800h is about £100 more expensive ( September pricing) than the 11th gen i7 is it worth the extra money ?
Pls make asus tuf a15 2020 vs 2021... especially about screen and cooling
Plenty of videos on the 2020 version already. The cooling sucks!
I just need a laptop that can handle 3D modeling (what I do for school), is not too expensive and is portable enough for me to take to school and has enough power so I can maybe play apex on a lunch break. Any other recommendations or should I get this?
You may balance the "performance" between each other with a battery duration test (games, productivity, web)
battery cannot be included in gaming test. never.
high workforce by the GPU mean high energy consumption.
which mean you cant play any video games properly without the electricity plugged in into your laptop.
should i get the ROG zephyrus g14 5800hs or the asus tuf f15?
Currently have the F15. Should I upgrade or sell and get a PC
Is the XPS 9500 safe to buy yet? I need a new laptop for work so it needs to be reliable. It seems to be the best windows laptop but QC issues seem rampant.
1:53 You had to push the bottom left corner (below the headphone jack) a bit more. You probably opened it before the shoot 😅
Acer nitro 5 or ASUS TUF Dash F15 what buy ?
dash looks better but i wish they had made it a little bit thicker with better cooling solution and more power, cz that 3070 will draw power anyway
I ordered mine and should get it on April 4
Am thinking of buying the f15 or the a15 which one is better?
I am dying to game on pc. Have been for about 6 years. My eyes are good not great, so a larger screen would be helpful. Especially if I'm playing fps and need to see enemies creeping in the distance. If you had to pick one laptop to game on, which would it be? And do you need Internet security? I only ask because I don't know much about computers and the guys at CEX told me you don't need it if you are only gaming on it. Oh and your budget is £1300.
I have 3 lights under my monitor: the left one is to show if it is open or not, the middle one is to see if the battery is 100%. What is the left one for?
great review, if only AMD had thunderbolt3/4 and/or QuickSync for Adobe Premiere.
Pretty much yeah
U hate this for being quad core but u like the Alienware M15 quad core?
@@PJCC_BAISH what are you talking about?
im in the market for a laptop. How good is this one in terms of heating, im always afraid something will overheat and break.
I been watching your videos, you are awesome, so informative about gaming computers. I have never own a gaming laptop, I do travel a lot for work so I been thinking about getting one for Christmas, which is the top 3 laptops for gaming? I dont want to spend more than 2k US Dollars
I just want tot ask if its cpu can maximize gpu performance?
I mean does CPU bottle necking the GPU?
Do you think the Tuf A15 2021 RTX 3060 has an in-between performance? It still has 90-95w?
I agree with what you said but to add to it the biggest problem I experience with 4 cores is stuttering in games and that's with a 1660 ti. Some games such as control, mafia definitive edition, star wars Jedi fallen order, NFS heat stutter so badly with i5-9300h that it's unplayable. That's in addition to potentially 26fps being lost in certain games. In hardware canucks video he noticed this stuttering in doom eternal. And in some games it got outperformed by an rtx 2060 laptop !! Great video btw
Fuck now im torn i was gonna get it but after hearing all the stuff about the CPU im kinda worried to make it even worse the 3060 variant of the A15 isnt avaialble in my country
Which is better?
1)Asus tuf dash f15 i5 rtx 3060
2)Lenovo Legion 5 i7(10th) rtx 2060
3)Asus Rog Strix G15 G512LV
I7(10870h)-2,2,RTX 2060.
For general use and light gaming rtx 3060 version is good and also remember it has great battery life better than asus zephyrus g14
I'm looking to buy this laptop but I'm a bit skeptical about it. I found one on amazon that says it has rtx 3060 with intel i7 and 144hz. Is this good in any type of way because this is my first time getting a laptop/pc.
For Architecture students, AMD or Intel processor? How much of a difference would it make choosing the interior one?
Intel, always
Hi i still didn't know what's better A15 or f15 i watch the whole video but still don't know what are you guys suggestion which is better?
0:38 Asus is on point “ F*** Intel” 🤣
Man the humor here, on point!
Finding that A15 new in US market is impossible 😔
GREAT REVIEW . I'VE BOUGHT STRIX G513 RTX3070 5800H
8:50 This benchmark charts is not fair. Intel 11gen H series can be neck to neck with Ryzen 5000 series but the problem here you are comparing RTX 3070 85w to RTX 3070 95w. 10w different is huge, which is why TUF A15 with Ryzen win almost in every benchmark.
You are absolutely true, this different bloggers reviews make me rly mad a bit, they are taking TUF Dash F15, which is ultraportable gaming laptop, with 2.0 kg weight and slim chassy and comparing to a thicker laptops with 2.3+ kg with higher tdp and telling those are better...
@@edgarkurm8148 but that's what you get with each laptop, it's supposed to show the difference from one another and scalability, you can't just lower the wattage on one, it's unrealistic
Is this 4 cores still Worth it in 2022?
00:07 too cool!!!!!
Would this be good enough to game and stream while gaming. ? Such as recording the gameplay or streaming with a program open while gaming ?
should i get a macbook pro or a gaming laptop, im unsure. i already have a gaming pc so dont know if i really need a gaming laptop or not
great review and comparison
One Huge advantage the Intel version has is Thunderbolt 4.
Without it, external monitor are limited to 100 -120hz over HDMI. Thunderbolt 4 and a USB-C to DisplayPort cable give you full 144hz or even 240hz which is not possible with HDMI 2.1.
Nice review, Loki.
Is this better than the Asus Vivobook pro 14?
should i buy this or the desktop equivelant i have never had a laptop and idk if i would prefer it
Me who bought it today
Its a really good device if you dont need the Power of the Ryzen cpu. Also you got Thundebolt
How is it?
Give it to me 😃
@@winterspeck6433 can i ask what does thunderbolt do?
Should've been posting a made video🌚 not watching💀
hey man
I just wanted to give some user experience
I bought asus stf a15 ryzen 7 5800h rtx 3060 with 240 hz display
And I regret it very much
I played fortnite on it every setting low and I got barely 200 frame
But the problem was that after half an hour play I had frequent frame drops
After I checked I saw gpu and cpu's usage never went more than 50 %
But cpu would go up to 87 degrees and then the usage would drop to about 5 % and my frame to 20
And I couldn't do any thing about it
And it is in a cool Environment
I would really like to know your thoughts about it and if possible a solution
Thanks and good luck 🤞
Dash F15 wouldn't have those problems
How do you easily Chech the TDP of the GPU on a laptop? I've got an RTX 3070 in the new Tongfang 17.3 chassis from PC Specialist and I want to check.
Hi you really helped me out alot thanks
i know its personal choice but im debating on getting this or the msi thin 10th gen , out of the 2 what do you think is best, im looking for sound graphics and a good cpu ?
waiting for my a15 to arrive, saw this review and was hoping this would be the outcome!
Got it for $1650 AUD with the 3060, crappier screen but gonna be plugged into external monitor most of the time anyway
How is it 8 months after
@@SamyHadera sold and moved onto various other 3060 laptops
This or the ROG STRIX g15? Prices are same in my area.
my heart stopped a lil when u dropped it
Im gonna use this laptop also for school (zoom classes) but it doesn't have a camera should I buy asus c3 webcam?
Should I get it once I save enough money it's only $950
Good job brother,im gonna buy laptop when 3080ti comes down to 700 pounds(80000 inr)
Never gonna happen
Any opinion on Asus Vivobook 15 K513 i5 or is something better in this price range?
