I went to my first Ted Nugent concert in 1976, when he was touring on the first album. Got to see him a couple of more times in the "70s. He's the only guitarist who I ever saw that played while standing on top of the speaker stack. I loved that first album, with Derek St Holmes singing. I saw Ted Nugent last in 2008, and my friend brought his son, who was in his early 20's. After "Stranglehold", he turned to his Dad and said, "I didn't know that anyone could play a guitar like that!" Ted Nugent is 70! Damn, I'm 61 and have been a fan since the Amboy Dukes days, in like 1969. I kinda feel like Ted Nugent will die holding that guitar and go out in Uncle Ted style, getting on the politicians ass's! Rock on, Ted! .🎸🤠
, "I didn't know that anyone could play a guitar like that!",,,,, yes exactly!! No 1 would want to. Ted has 3 times the brain burn out with little to no drug or alcohol abuse, sad stuff : (
Great memories of Ted playing in Arlington heights Illinois at my high school. He had his shirt off and he was standing on a double stack of Marshalls playing on top of them. Unbelievable. Still sounds great and a great American
The Original Wild Man of Rock and Roll!!! I got to see Uncle Ted several times in the 70s and early 80s. He still has that awesome energy we all love!! ☮❤☮
Newton, IA. We used to buy John Deere tractor parts there in the 70's. I was a fan of Ted Nugent's Double Live Gonzo at that time. Amazing that he was still active in 2018. And 69 comments without a single clunker in the bunch. Craig? You gatekeeping the comments?
Was just checking your videos and saw some Cheap Trick. I'm from Rockford, IL and worked at Rick Nielsen's mom and dad's music store in the late 70's. I was too young (14-16) to really grasp just how cool that was. He had 2 T-Bird convertibles delivered to the store one day for himself and his wife, Karen. I remember Daxx and Miles being there, but they were just toddlers.
Not doing to much without being in a band with the Motor City Mad Man. I like that Ted is Seventy in this performance and doing all the vocals to the songs he wrote. Rock n' Roll is not about perfection. I always like the studio and live recordings of Ted doing lead vocals the best. But I'll give credit to Derek because he deserves it. Keep in mind its Ted Nugents music, showmanship and guitar playing that makes it exciting. Also Ted is Seventy years old in this performance, so let's cut him some slack, lol.
My thoughts as well. Saw Ted Nugent a few years ago at Myrtle Beach house of blues with Derek. We stood front row in front of Derek and couldn't hear anything for at least an hour after the show.
When I met Ted I wNted to ask him meanings of his songs but had no time. I'd like to think Snakeskin Cowboys is either about posers or souless music label execs. Anybody know?
One of my favorite guitar riffs of all time😊
