It was given to me by my WWII Veteran Grandfather because he could see how much I loved my country. I have since passed it on to my son for him to cherish despite being born in Canada. My husband is now 81 years old. He did five tours in Vietnam and earned a purple heart, and he is my hero. I too feel that there is going to be some ugly shit that goes down in our country, in the very near future. I fear that there are going to be a lot of people in for a rude awakening. There's a whole generation of young people that weren't born yet when 9/11 happened. And since 2001 I have been horrified at the direction our country has gone. In those capacities, I presented the US Flag to the Next of Kin 12 times at military funerals. To me, presenting the Flag to a NOK is the highest honor someone in uniform can perform in tribute to a fallen service member, their family, the Flag, and the Nation. Thank You for the service you have given to our Great Nation. As an old Desert Storm Marine, then I retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier, I carried a Flag with me on my last day. Also a couple years ago the Post Office I was working at, it was renamed for a local fallen Soldier, I got with our custodian ( who was a Soldier ) asked if we had a backup Flag, he replied of course, with approval from our supervisors ( both Marines ) we flew a brand new Flag that day in his honor.

It’s hard to describe to non vets what’s it like to travel the world for 6 to 8 months after seeing other countries and how their governments treat their citizens and then to come home and see that American flag. It would give us goosebumps.
As a Canadian Forces Veteran I know exactly what you mean. Coming home is always an amazing feeling. When I travel to the United States I am amazed seeing all the massive flags everywhere and makes me feel proud to have such amazing neighbours
I spent a total of 13 years overseas while in the USAF from 2001-2021. I absolutely feel y'all on this one. To think that we have gone from the patriotism immediately post 9/11 to what we see today is deeply disturbing to me. Could you imagine taking down an American flag down, and replacing it with a foriegn flag at ground zero on 9/12? Sadly, I can't say I'm suprised. I've seen the writing on the wall for several years now. Chadd's right, the potential for bad times is higher than anytime in my lifetime. What's most disturbing to me is, you don't get in the shape we're in without things being orchestrated. The potential for bad things is global. There are parallels between what's taken place here at home over the last several decades and in other "democratic" nations. The most powerful people on the planet want us to be where we are. I don't see an off ramp on the road to our ruin. We need a literal miracle. We're not supposed to be afraid of these things, but this fear is powerful bad.

It’s deeply disturbing to me and hits me at my core to see it, it’s hard to explain to some how important the flag is to those that have fought for it, I’ve heard some officials and police officers say there isn’t much we can do, but that’s false for desecrating the flag you can be arrested and fined up to $1,000 and face a jail sentence, the problem once again is our govt not enforcing laws afraid to offend someone smh.
Sadly I saw the same thing in the 60's. Difference then was it wasn't tolerated... let's just leave it at that. But it all starts at home and our own sense of patriotism and pride. That flag means the good guys to me & much more. Born & raised in N.Y.C. The toxicity is real…the corruption, judicial system, cameras, police in certain areas have become nothing but evil. I turned 44 on Veterans Day & how can I even celebrate? I gave my fiancé a ring 💍 turning that negative energy into a positive. 98% of my friends are dead from overdoses, war & suicide. Iv witnessed enough, lived it, smelt it & im blessed to be alive. I’m disgusted that whomever took our flag down did not get stopped….instead they stare at their phones like zombies. I do not want to type on this phone on what I would do if I witnessed that. I know that I would be in jail. The toxicity has reached the tip of the spear….freedom is not free. Chad my friend all respect for your service and your honor and patriotism. While I did not serve, I spent the 1st 18 years of my life on military bases. My father spent 23 years in the Air Force. He flew in the B-26, and B-52before during and after the Cold War. Then he went into the missile program. As a dependent we saw 1st hand the meaning of serving, dedication and patriotism. Being proud of our flag and its symbol for the sacrifices it took to keep our freedoms is something ALL Americans should honor. If I or any dependent was walking around the base and heard “Taps” being played we turned and faced the lowering of the flag. We were not brainwashed or made to do this it was just pride in our fathers and all veterans who served this great flag of this great country. I also feel very distressed by the dishonoring of our flag. Rather it is by our enemies or unappreciative low life citizens it angers and distresses me. To be blessed to live in this country and not realize how fortunate you are is just beyond me. There is no excuse for this dishonest.

My husband is now 81 years old. He did five tours in Vietnam and earned a purple heart, and he is my hero. I too feel that there is going to be some ugly shit that goes down in our country, in the very near future. I fear that there are going to be a lot of people in for a rude awakening.
There's a whole generation of young people that weren't born yet when 9/11 happened. And since 2001 I have been horrified at the direction our country has gone. In those capacities, I presented the US Flag to the Next of Kin 12 times at military funerals. To me, presenting the Flag to a NOK is the highest honor someone in uniform can perform in tribute to a fallen service member, their family, the Flag, and the Nation. Thank You for the service you have given to our Great Nation. As an old Desert Storm Marine, then I retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier, I carried a Flag with me on my last day. Also a couple years ago the Post Office I was working at, it was renamed for a local fallen Soldier, I got with our custodian ( who was a Soldier ) asked if we had a backup Flag, he replied of course, with approval from our supervisors ( both Marines ) we flew a brand new Flag that day in his honor.

It’s hard to describe to non vets what’s it like to travel the world for 6 to 8 months after seeing other countries and how their governments treat their citizens and then to come home and see that American flag. It would give us goosebumps.
As a Canadian Forces Veteran I know exactly what you mean. Coming home is always an amazing feeling. When I travel to the United States I am amazed seeing all the massive flags everywhere and makes me feel proud to have such amazing neighbours
I spent a total of 13 years overseas while in the USAF from 2001-2021. I absolutely feel y'all on this one. To think that we have gone from the patriotism immediately post 9/11 to what we see today is deeply disturbing to me. Could you imagine taking down an American flag down, and replacing it with a foriegn flag at ground zero on 9/12? Sadly, I can't say I'm suprised. I've seen the writing on the wall for several years now. Chadd's right, the potential for bad times is higher than anytime in my lifetime. What's most disturbing to me is, you don't get in the shape we're in without things being orchestrated. The potential for bad things is global. There are parallels between what's taken place here at home over the last several decades and in other "democratic" nations. The most powerful people on the planet want us to be where we are. I don't see an off ramp on the road to our ruin. We need a literal miracle. We're not supposed to be afraid of these things, but this fear is powerful bad.
Do they do forced vax, travel passports, censorship, warrantless surveillance, open borders, debauch currency....cause that's what our does, sadly.

It’s deeply disturbing to me and hits me at my core to see it, it’s hard to explain to some how important the flag is to those that have fought for it, I’ve heard some officials and police officers say there isn’t much we can do, but that’s false for desecrating the flag you can be arrested and fined up to $1,000 and face a jail sentence, the problem once again is our govt not enforcing laws afraid to offend someone smh.

First & foremost thank you for retrieving our flag. Thank you for everything you have done. My wife & I left N.Y last year. We are in Texas. My brother was a marine & killed in 94. That flag means the good guys to me & much more. Born & raised in N.Y.C. The toxicity is real…the corruption, judicial system, cameras, police in certain areas have become nothing but evil. I turned 44 on Veterans Day & how can I even celebrate? I gave my fiancé a ring 💍 turning that negative energy into a positive. 98% of my friends are dead from overdoses, war & suicide. Iv witnessed enough, lived it, smelt it & im blessed to be alive. I’m disgusted that whomever took our flag down did not get stopped….instead they stare at their phones like zombies. I do not want to type on this phone on what I would do if I witnessed that. I know that I would be in jail. The toxicity has reached the tip of the spear….freedom is not free. I continue moving forward against all odds. I’m truly saddened by our younger generation… cause how the Fu(k did not one soul, beat the living evil out of that human? Why? Chad my friend all respect for your service and your honor and patriotism. While I did not serve, I spent the 1st 18 years of my life on military bases. My father spent 23 years in the Air Force. He flew in the B-26, and B-52before during and after the Cold War. Then he went into the missile program. As a dependent we saw 1st hand the meaning of serving, dedication and patriotism. Being proud of our flag and its symbol for the sacrifices it took to keep our freedoms is something ALL Americans should honor. If I or any dependent was walking around the base and heard “Taps” being played we turned and faced the lowering of the flag. We were not brainwashed or made to do this it was just pride in our fathers and all veterans who served this great flag of this great country. I also feel very distressed by the dishonoring of our flag. Rather it is by our enemies or unappreciative low life citizens it angers and distresses me. To be blessed to live in this country and not realize how fortunate you are is just beyond me. There is no excuse for this dishonest.

In my opinion this is one of the hardest things to do in the Bible. “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matt 5:44 ). I lift up all you guys in prayer. People were respectful of Americans and especially Texans.
Some even thought America was in Texas. I almost felt like a celebrity at times.
