I wonder if Harrison was really scared when the split happened, recording song after song and releasing best-selling singles and albums as a solo performer.
@fredman1085 that is where "a hard day's night" came from. But in the movie of the same name there's a line of dialogue in which PM stated the line I was quoting. You'd have to see it to get it.
I couldn't agree more. While I've always been more of a Harrison fan overall, McCartney's post-Beetle stuff was far superior to anything Lennon was doing. I enjoyed most of John's work with the Beetles, but never was able to get myself into his post-Beetle stuff.
It was exactly as we always thought: Paul's stuff was poppy and accessible, John's was more edgy.
The mix was what made the Beatles great.
"Oh the irony?" 😢
"Well that's a shame?" 😢

"no actually, we're just good friends"
-Paul McCartney, "A Hard Day's Night"
I read that it was Ringo who quipped that after a particularly long night time recording session. Paul thought it was a great song title.

@@danielbrannon9513 Ok, thanks for letting me know. I’ll look for it next time I watch it.
McCartney's post Beatles work was better than Lennon's (until Ebony and Ivory and The Girl Is Mine.)

The single track well well well buries the entire combined discography of George and Paul (meh).
