I am a new home owner. Been living in my new home for 3 months now and this is exactly what’s happening with my heat. Couldn’t find where to change the filter but now seeing this great chance it’s in the attic. Going to try this n hopefully it works
Old neighbor asked if I could look at her furnace. I pulled filter out. She had 2 dogs and 2 cats. I swear it was like chewbaka. Anyways I left it out and started unit. Huge fireball came rolling out. The heat exchanger had a fist size hole in it. She had new unit installed and I did twice yearly maintenance on it for her till she passed a couple years ago. Old broad had more money than the next 10 neighbors put together but she bought the cheapest goodman they could get. At least installers did a good job. Thanks for posting Steven!
There’s nothing wrong with a cheap Goodman furnace. I had one installed in my home for 27 years and the heat exchanger was still in good condition when I removed it for a 16 SEER matched system.
I work on some rental properties and well mama I see that all the time. Try to tell the renters and in one ear and out the other. Oh well can lead a horse to water but ya push their head in the water.
@@throttlebottle5906 ouch. Those small steps always scare me. My former boss fell through the ceiling once but luckily not all the way, just one leg. It would of been a 15 foot fall into the garage.
Really enjoy your videos Steven, I wish you the best, stay safe! You could write a book on what you see servicing these units, lol. It’s a crusty one mama!
Young fellow helping the electrician at my parents house fell through the ceiling in the hall years ago. Unfortunately he was killed a few years later doing electric work at a plant. Was only 23.
LmFao I wish you caught some footage of him going through the ceiling. 🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂🥃🥃😂🤣 What the heck for $50 Alex. I can't stop laughing... I think it will be cheaper if you get the filter !!😆😆😆🍺🍺🤔🍺🍺🥃🥃🥃😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣 Man I got to start up again!🤔🥃 Stay safe. Retired keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses.
Steve you have to realize that most people today are not capable of even doing something as simple as changing an air filter! This guy was particularly clueless and the most that you could expect from him is falling thru the ceiling!!
The guy never been in the attic before... Steve: HEY GUY, wanna come up here... I'll show you where to change the filter. The guy almost goes through the drywall and kills himself. LOL I couldn't stop 😂
That’s why I never feel bad charging these over educated people. They are good at what they do and very seldom nothing else. Don’t know how many times I’ve been called only to change batteries in thermostat or switch thermostat to heat or cool .
Hi mate how are u ok mate keep up the good work on UA-cam hove a good day mate from Greg Bouchard u do a really good job on here mate hove a good day mate from Greg Bouchard
It has always blown me away how the most expensive thing a person can own in their life and no one takes a general interest in learning how it works or what to do in an event of an emergency or even how to change a filter so you’re not breathing that crud in. 🙄🤷🏻♂️

Probably retired brain surgeon....
Thankfully he knew enough to call Steve
@@roberts1159 I'm crying with laughter from the first few mins of this video and then your comment, made my day
Amazing how clueless some people are about their house. Trying to explain anything to this guy was pointless. Good job Steve, thanks for sharing.
Most homeowners realize there is a filter in the ceiling that needs to be changed. But not in the unit itself.

Pull a Chevy Chase right through the ceiling, that’s hilarious and your little dog is cute
I thought he said Chubby Chase.🤣
@@sherwinalvarez7365 He said Chevy the first time, and Chubby Chase 2 times in the truck around 9:00
I almost spit by beer out bursting out laughing at that lmao
Thats why i love this line of work, its always something new and different..LMAO..i love how you talk to the customers.

@@picklerix6162 Yes , properly installed.
Five years with no filter change. Amazing. That homeowner needed a “how to care for your house for dummies” book as a housewarming present!
I once had a York furnace and it was a lemon, finally made lemonade w/ it!
I rarely post anything on people's YT channels but I have to say, you put a smile on my face whenever I watch. You and miss Mollie!
Surprisingly clean in the front cavity.

You've seen it all, but not a home owner fall through the ceiling. Guy got lucky.

That's some tuff ass drywall !! When in doubt, get a new filter out !
I did not know that I had an engine under the hood! I always wondered where the noise came from.

I don't know, Steve. I think he would be better off paying you to change his filters every three months. lol
Some people are so oblivious, makes you wonder how they survived that many years without seriously hurting themselves.
Another nice job complete 👍👍

Omg I can’t stop laughing! That was funny! He is lucky he didn’t fall threw the ceiling.

Did you check for CO because he was standing on the ceiling or he do that for every client lol?

Nice job and video
A flex gas line to a furnace is that even legal?
If it isn’t legal, every furnace in my neighborhood is breaking the law.
Steve what do you clean the flame sensor with?
worn out green scotch brite pad
Hey guys, tell the customer to change the filter monthly, with a little bit of luck, they will do it every other month.

He was way better off having you change the filter who know what damage he could have done to the house and himself
Clark W. Griswold wannabe.
You can't run without a filter. Trying to scare the guy or what. I'm sure it would have been fine for a couple days. Calm down there guy
