You 2 ladies have the best collaborations with your knowledge of make up. Love your guys energy and a good old time. Thank you for the smiles...so enjoyable to watch ❤ both your channels
I’m 71 and still a lover of makeup and always believe less is more. I totally agree about placement of dark liner around the eye upper and lower, I see it all the time especially living here in Florida around the older ladies. I don’t put any liner under my lower lashes since I have deep set eyes it just makes my eyes look smaller. I had a salesperson at Saks at a high end makeup counter who was older with the heavy black eyeliner around her eyes. She wanted to do my makeup and I declined because I was afraid what she would do to me! I have very purple, blue darkness under my eye and on my eyelids from my mom and for the longest time I saw Mandy Davis use Chantecaille future skin foundation under her eyes and didn’t try that trick since my under eyes are so much darker than hers. Well after being disappointed time and time again trying concealers I tried it and it worked! I use the color ivory because that’s what I already had and then I do put on top Sisley concealer 1.5 and it’s perfect!! Thanks ladies for this video.
Thank you for this very useful way to do the under eye!!!! I’ve bought every color correction that I know and have not been wowed by any. Do you use a color corrector?
Hello there! I'm new to your channel. I do have most of the 'basic' set of your brushes. I'm 63 yrs. of age. My husband had to retire due to a stroke. So, money is definitely a factor in the purchase of your recommendations. I loved watching you and your mom interact when you did her makeup. You used 'City Beauty Wrinkle Line Filler' under her eyes before concealer. I was curious if you might suggest a couple more options that aren't as pricey?! All your channels are informative and your ease at which you show and describe techniques and products are wonderful. Thank you for your time in the world of making all of us look and feel better!!!
I love both of you! These videos from the Creator House are MAGNIFICENT! 👏👏👏 I’m so happy all of you got together for this creator house event. Please tell me you will all be doing this again! 😊
Hi Lisa and Gabi. The older I get, the lighter my foundation is. Nothing heavy, and very natural looking. Right now, my HG is the About Face. It's a beautiful product. I'm with you both on the concealer. Once again, the lighter the application, the better. I like the Makeup by Mario concealer. And even the Colourpop is a good one . Lisa, I like the blush on your cheeks. So pretty. But if you're my age, it has to be placed higher. You have me hooked on the NYX Eyeliners. Definitely a lip liner. Such valuable information. Lisa, you have taught me so much over the years. I can't thank you enough. 🩷🩷💓
@@lisajmakeupyou are a sweetheart. I can't believe that he'll be 2 1/2 next month. Low key summer plans, but it's fine. I think we'll get away in the winter! ❤❤
I’m 60 and I started using the Jane Iredale pure pressed powder with the hydration spray over a year ago because of your recommendation❤ the best foundation!! looks like skin and less is more but you can build it up❤ I gave all my high-end liquid foundations to my niece. I won’t use anything but this powder now❤❤❤❤
I love Gabi's channel and this video was a great collaboration between the two of you! I have been trying to apply my blush to the tops of my check bones rather than applying blush to the entire middle side of my face. I think I need an angular blush brush. And I am trying to remember to use my lip pencils. My favorite is the Cover Girl Simply Ageless lip liners. I just bought two more colors today. I am on my way to collecting every color 😀
I am over 70 and the Saie concealer is the first brand concealer that looks natural on my under eyes. Highly recommend.. Love seeing you gals together.
Hi, this is my first video! I just bought the L'Oreal True Match Nude yesterday. Yes yes yes. I have lost a lost of weight in the past two years which has effected my face. This foundation lives up to the hype.
Found this channel through Gabi. Great content with such practical and useful info. So glad I found you. I recently learned the value of the perfect makeup brush for new issues (you address in this video) and went to the BK beauty site to find new brushes. Thanks.
One thing I realized to stop doing over 40 was when using bronzer, not to put it near the temple, which I did when younger. As we age, we lose volume in the temple area so darkening the hollow of the temple at all exacerbates that, making us look even older.
The is a fabulous video! I have learned so much from the 2 of you. As I've aged, skin prep has become paramount for a youthful look for me. Also, less is more!!
Im 72 and at my age I will ONLY use luxury makeup - with ONE exception! The L’Oréal skin tint you mentioned is the ONLY drugstore product I use - I rotate it among my luxury foundations and I gotta say it’s pretty great! ❤
I agree. Since you only use high end, can you tell us your holy grails and/or few products you would hope for on a desert island? If I'm to justify (to husband & myself!) spending the money on high end, then I need to be sure of the products' uniqueness or true efficacy.
There are many mature beauty creators who immediately drag down their faces with blush placement, and they don't accept the constructive criticism from subscribers who say it nicely. The 2 easiest ways to lift the face are blush placement (bring it up onto the forehead and out from the eye) and wear your hair up or keep it short. These long hair styles with big curls only weigh down the face. These 2 tricks are effortless and will work for anyone!
You guys are so cute together. As you say just lovely. I am over 60 and thanks to Lisa, the Saie concealor is the BEST. Also had been using Haus labs concealor for a long time and it's either one or the other. All great advice for mature gals and guys.
Absolutely helpful and saving it to refer back for products and techniques. Concealer and lips are my nightmares. Both make me look waaay older when I apply makeup. I will try the products mentioned here.
Thank you ladies. At almost 65 all you’re saying is true re texture and peach fuzz. I do like the powdered down look because it reminds me of older ladies wearing makeup when I was young, which I loved. Shall put the Jane Iredale on my list.
I’m 54 and post-menopause, and all of these tips & tricks are correct. I was so oily and acne prone as a teen all the way until I hit menopause (I never thought I’d stop getting pimples) so I just caked on the powder through out the day 😂 I have found doing a lot of these things make me look so much better (especially and obviously the foundation tips). Also, agree the Haus Labs concealer is chef’s kiss. Thank you for a great video!
Hi there ladies! My name's Jennifer Silberberg (or Jen or Jenny as my friends call me) and you ladies inspire me so much to live one of my dreams of becoming a UA-cam content creator as well! ❤ One question I have for Lisa (no offense, Gabi, I adore you but Lisa mentioned the dermaplaning tool for exfoliation) and I wanted to know: about how often should one dermaplane? When I started out, just to kind of try this "new" viral skin technique everyone was raving about to make your skin and makeup look SO smooth, I did the sort of bare.minimum, meaning a disposable blade with a guard (the kind that also aren't very sharp) every 2 weeks, believing that especially since I used a retinoid (adapalene, I've since followed Angie Hot &Flashy's lead (Gabi's too, right?)and switched to tretinoin) so I played it safe and only did dermaplaning once every 2 weeks. How often would you ladies say is the most optimal time to space out your dermaplaning? Ever since I've become hardcore in thus amazing exfoliating method, I do it every week and the look of both how my skin looks barefaced, not to mention how smoothly and nicely makeup glides on my skin.....I'm never turning back and I'd recommend it to any beauty junkie! Love you ladies, love this video! ❤🎉
Lisa you are such a teacher and give instruction that is easy to understand. Love your content! ❤❤️❤️. I have enjoyed my Jane Iredale powder foundation…it’s beautiful and especially for summer. Thanks so much for your recommendation. You are spot on!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the tips ladies! I do agree that a bit of shine on the lips looks better than a flat matte, the problem I have is that when I add any kind of product to create the gloss, my lip color (except the liner) wears away sooo much faster, on my coffee mug, water bottle, etc. so how do you have a glossy lip and not have to constantly reapply the lip set up??
You might really like the hydrating lip stains for this reason. They are my favorite! The Fenty poutsicle, Rare Beauty lip oil (it's really a stain) and even Milani lip stain all last better than regular lipstick but are not drying. Rare Beauty has the best color selection, Fenty lasts the longest and Milani is a good budget one to try to see if you like the idea of the stain for yourself. I put them on and don't blot them off and they are quite shiny for a long time.
Thank you once again ladies. I don’t think I can get the concealers you mentioned here in Australia. I do use the Bobbi Brown corrector which is great. But no concealer for reasons Gaby stated. Concealer accentuates eye bags and texture so badly, especially light concealer. I still rock the Twiggy eyebrows. One day they’ll come back.
Lisa, for those of us who like powder foundation another good one is Clinique Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation + Concealer. I’m 68 and it goes on beautifully and looks natural but better. It’s never cakey and doesn’t settle in fine lines. At least that has been my experience. There’s also lots of shades to choose from. I have not tried the Jill Iredale powder foundation yet, but am excited to do so. It sounds amazing! Thanks for the useful content!! Always helpful. ❤
So funny. I just, this morning, added that NYX Under the Moonstone eye liner to my cart. I also have recently added the Loreal Serum Tint. And others mentioned here have been on my radar.
I recently tried Laura Gellar and was so astonished and realized it wasnt a gimmick of social media (since that''s how I found out about it). I have pores the size of some pot holes, but this actually didn't define every single pore I have. I do use primers that help but some of my other foundations don't need a primer. Anyways, Laura Gellar is definitely my go to travel makeup for everyday. When I want a great finish I use Fenty because I don't even need a primer to stop the pot holes on my face. Anyways, as I've gotten older I don't believe in spending $60 on foundation anymore and drug store or Ulta beauty suits me just fine. Only tricky thing I have to deal with is the pot holes and my Asian skin undertones, I struggle to find the perfect shade but what I do get currently isn't so off so that's why I wear them.
Hiy gaby and lisa , you talk about biologique p50 , but whe dont have that is there somthing els i can use please can you tell me, i treid paula's choise but its whas burning , hiy gaby you doning well i see , that make me happy , but a dont whe talk a lot if you do remeber me paula from the Nederlands about depressie its is worse 😢, but i see you and you glowing and that make me happy , i wish you a the best ❤and lisa too thankyou Girls greating paula from the Nederlands
Ok. So after Lisa said "isn't she lovely" I began singing Stevie Wonder's song and now it's stuck in my head! 🥰 🎶 At 74, Ive changed A LOT of the ways I do my makeup. Thanks for validating them!
My mother-in-law was a devout black eyeliner user well into her late 80s and it looked awful! She also had very deeply tanned olive skin and would wear a super pale, almost white pink shimmery lipstick with that eyeliner. (She would've loved the lipstick you used in your "don't" image.) The effect was shocking and corpse-like. I did her makeup for her once for a wedding she was attending, using warmer and softer colors on her, and she received tons of compliments and threatened to never wash it off. I bought her all new makeup and tried teaching her how to update her look, but she eventually want back to her frosty lipstick and black eyeliner. *Sigh* I tried.
I've heard from different dermatologists that you should really avoid gritty granules to exfoliate. It might feel great to physically slough off that dead skin, however it can cause micro abrasions or small cuts into the skin. This can damage your skin and eventually cause skin infections or dermatitis, not just on face but body also. Better to use a glycolic acid or salicylic acid - starting slow. Start with a lower concentrate and only a few times a week. Then working up.
65 here...bronzer with a red tone work great...Chantecaille Gua is a good choice...line eyes with Laura Mercier Cavier Stick in Cobblestone...glossy lip balms vs liners...Dior Concealer/Corrector is perfect for aging skin.
I would love to wear lipstick or gloss more often, but I don’t because my sweet husband likes to kiss me all the time and I don’t want it to transfer to him. Any suggestions for something moisturizing but transfer proof?
What happens when you stop removing the peach fluff with a Dermo razor, what happens to aging skin with lack of elasticity during this process, does caution need to be discussed

I use cheap rougher wash cloths, but use them gently for exfoliation. Thoughts? Call me crazy, but I like my peach fuzz. Diffuses the wrinkles😂
I agree won’t shave due to sensitivity and fear it will cause redness
I'm 72 and have learned so much! Thank you both 💓
Aww, I am so happy to hear that! Thank you!
Victoria Beckham makes a beautiful eyeliner!! It’s pricey but the best eyeliner I’ve ever used
That one is really nice! I have 2 of them.
Thank you for sharing Dana!
