I absolutely agree. He also recently released the documentary: The wisdom of trauma It's a well made documentary. In some countries it's on Netflix. I'm not sure if you can watch it on their official website at the moment
Wow, amazing video. Thank you for this. I have never had tears in my eyes during a green aqua video before. As someone who has been living with an anxiety disorder for over 15 years (and thankfully recovering now) the aquarium hobby has played a large part in coping and recovering. This puts things into perspective. Thank you balasz! 🙏🏻
Again you nailed it !! This is one of the best videos ever about why we get lost in what we love, why we forgot the sense of time, and its because of "The Flow". And this was a humongous homage to the psychologists you made reference. Great Job !! 👍 Thank you so much.
What an outstanding video. I was sitting infront of the TV spellbinded, totally in flow listening the whole time. You are an amazing personality Balasz, thank you!
This is by far the best video I've seen on an AQUASCAPING channel aside the facts that it doesn't contain any tank build, maintenance or fish stories. Thank you *GREEN AQUA* for the mental uplifting.
Thank you for this!! I was in the aquarium hobby 20 years ago. I didn't know anything about aquascaping back then , I was only interested in just Fish.. I didn't have this platform, or the friends that I've met here that share the love that I have found here for the actual hobby. I ended up losing everything 20 years ago because of a terrible addiction to pain medications I was prescribed.. I had to fight for my life, I lost my freedom, everything I loved, and my home!! I absolutely let it destroy me. I'm going on 6 years in recovery myself 🙌♥️🙏 I remember the first time I watched your channel. It might sound cliche but it really did change my life. It opened my eyes to A whole New World of beauty... I never thought I could keep a planted tank.. I'm not a great aquascaper, but consider myself a student. One of the greatest joys I found over the past two years is being able to have a planted tank. Financially I've been building back my life little by little. I've been collecting things in hopes that one day I can create a beautiful aquascape!! One thing I've learned is to slow down and study!! And you have been one of the most wonderful teachers along with everything Green Aqua has brought to me 🙏🌿🐟💚 I got so caught up in UA-cam though that I was having information overload 😅 as with everything, I became addicted trying to watch every single thing that everybody put out and I had to slow down. If this video was meant to help one person, I'm the one person!! The world's we create and the nature we bring into our homes... Seeing the fish and the inhabitants of our aquariums along with the beautiful plants.. it is Living art... But it's more than that.. it's a safe place... It's calm and beautiful ❤️ you see something new when you visit and just sit down and watch what's going on within or under water worlds ❤️ One thing for me is I had never shared my hobby with others.. I was always very isolated, I was a veterinary technician and a groomer by day and I raised horses and had aquariums.I have always loved animals and I felt like they were my only friends in the world ♥️ I was also an only child not spoiled by any means but I spent most of my days alone in my room growing up. Now I live way out in the country I don't even have neighbors except for the family I have around me. When I was young I had a grandfather that taught me about nature and taking care of of animals. I lost him when I was 16 and my life changed. A little part of me died and I let it get to me. Now I'm 54 years old, three daughters, husband of 30 years, and 7 grandkids. The joy we share in keeping aquariums now is beyond words!! The concept of Flow..... Thank you for the eight points !! I just don't want to feel like time is running away, I found joy and happiness that before felt like a hole that I've always wanted to fill🙏 I know I always write long comments when I can. It was a way to bring myself out of that isolation that I've been stuck in for so many years. Setting goals for myself, being mindful and not taking things for granted like I used to. Enjoy the process!! Trial and error doesn't have to defeat me anymore, I learn and grow!! Thank you for sharing this!! I truly enjoyed the video!! I hope you all have a blessed and beautiful day 🌿🐟🌿💚🙏
hey ! you just advised me on my angelfish tank this morning, on Prime Time Aquatics ! it's pleasant to see you here too, and read your inspiring story ! Keep up with your beautiful life !
@@srinjoyghosh7273 oh that is wonderful!! And this is what I'm talkin about being able to share with friends here on this platform 🥰 I hope you have a blessed and beautiful day my, friend 🙏♥️🌿🐟🌿💚
Thanks so much for your story, I believe I understand where you're coming from. I'm so glad you found this hobby fulfilling in so many ways. And glad we could contribute a little to expand your knowledge and perspective. Keep on scaping Mary, and thanks for the longtime support!
This video will be on my motivational videos for the morning. i'm always amazed how many of us got into this hobby after suffering addiction. thank you for the reading recommendations. Please don't worry about views when doing these videos instead focus on the fact you helped a few people. not with aquascaping but with life Thank you
Currently working on my first iaplc work while studying for grad school. I do both because I love both and crave the flow state on a daily basis. Cannot wait for my tests to be over with so I can continue working on my hard scape. I am happy that I have joined the beautiful world of aquascaping thanks to the inspiration of you and the rest green aqua squad
You touch many reasons why I got into the hobby here Balasz. One of the best things I find about aquariums/aquascaping is that there is always something to do, when Im stressed, frustrated or something else I always find peace in the "work" in the aquatic world and come out refreshed and calm. I'm not talking about re-scaping, just simple maintenance. Trimming, scraping specs of algae. Never read these books, but I will read both of them. Thank you for making the video even if it doesn't give you a million views.
You are welcome, glad you could identify with some of what I said, John. Well, numbers are not everything, if I could talk to just a few people through this video, my mission is accomplished already.
One of your best videos by far - period! We both are in this hobby since our childhood days and we know the frustration that sometimes comes with it. It seems like a hate-love whereas deeply within our motivation is not to complete something, but to grow constantly during the process and picture this hobby as a never-ending circle of rise and fall. Nature teaches us that there's never a point of standing still. Beauty fades and everything has its time. We both had deep crises and disappointments. In our job as well as in our personal lifes and as a person of integrity and vision you manage to grow on such experiences and defeats. Aquaristics is a great hobby and a much better way to "waste ones time" than watching TV or play video games for instance. Especially last years insanity has brought a lot of new people into fish keeping and aquascaping and now many more people experience the relaxation, the excitement and, as you said, that feeling of being able to control and influence that small and fragile little world inside a box of a glass. Greetings from Germany - Kevin
Honestly, clicked on this video because I knew it'd be interesting. Little did I know it be so relevant to my life at the moment, truly motivating. like a long lost uncle shearing life experience, or talking to an old friend. I saved this video to re-motivate me when I'm "not feeling it". Thank you Balasz.
I just got back into the aquarium hobby, having had a planted take back in the late 90's to early 2000's. I was instantly attracted to aquascaping and have two tanks now. This is one of my favorite videos. I can spend so much time just casually picking out duckweed, snipping the occasional bad leaf. Everything vanishes during these little moments of mindfulness. While I love creating beauty in my tanks and I love looking at them, it's these moments of total is immersion doing maintenance and building a new scape are what truly keep me anchored, both to this hobby and in life. Cheers!
Amazing video. Really connected with it. A great reminder of why I started the hobby and not to get lost chasing things. Flow state is great. I haven’t read the book but I’m going to order it now.
This video caught me just in time, at a moment being driven but not driving, wondering about my role in life. Aquascaping not only gives me the joy of creation but also the joy of taking responsibility of the living creatures, plants, fish and shrimp. I always loved to watch life grow. But this is the point I had to come to - if I can be responsible for these lives, I must be able to take the responsibility for my own life, too. Thank you for this "click" in my mind. Thank you so much for this video!!!! And please, don't mind theis weird comment.
Quote that helped my OCD/Anxiety: "Why think of the Past? It will cause sadness. Why think of the Future? It will cause worry and anxiety. Embrace the present moment!"
Absolutely loved this video and the psychological breakdown. As someone who only recently discovered their passions, I’m obsessed with understanding why I’m drawn to these things. This breakdown shed a lot of light for me. I know a lot of people hate editing, but I really easily get into a flow state when I’m working on an edit. I was able to replace my unhealthy addiction to video games with sort of an editing addiction eventually. Thanks for the amazing video 🙏🏼
This is my favorite video from you guys. I believe what you say hits the mark perfectly. I am new to aquascaping, but I enjoy the same feelings of control, escape, self-unconsciousness and time shift as I do when practicing sports or playing the piano for hours on end…it is science, art, challenge, effort, enjoyment and fulfillment.
By far the most inspiring and important video by Green Aqua - scrap tutorials, algae eaters, CO2, nano-scapes, etc. this is the real deal!! Many thanks for sharing your vision, the more I watch this channel the more I am in love with it! Kudos to you Balazs @ Green Aqua, many thanks for what you are doing and for WHO you are!
This video moved me deeply. I had encountered many of the issues you covered about the circle of "despair". Stepping back and applying what you said about flow, it feels enlightening. Thank you.
This is one of my favorite Green Aqua videos yet! As someone who struggled with alcoholism for 10 years, I can honestly say the last 19 months of my life have been sober ones and it is due largely to this beautiful hobby. I have finally started to find the inner peace I was always looking for in alcohol. You answered a lot of my questions on why I love this hobby as much as I do. Thank you for taking the time to create such an important video.
Thank you, Balasz! Following your channel for a long time without commenting anything (because I don't like Internet comments), this video is more than worth my first comment. Thank you for not only giving me the possibility of evolving in my hobby from "yes, I very much like keeping fish in a nice looking aquarium" to "wow, I build not only my first, but also my second and third aquascape, and it's getting better every time. I'm so happy!", but also for waking my mind up today with things I knew, but negleted for a long time.
That is so good to hear Anke, thanks so much for commenting for the first time, and thanks for the longtime support. I believe - for me personally - it is important to get feedback from you, unlike others, I always try to read and possibly answer all comments. It keeps us going, your support keeps us going. So thanks!
Terrific segment! You are spot-on about why aquascaping is so enriching to our lives and mental well-being! Throughout the video, I kept saying "YES!" to what you were saying! Thanks!
Wow, just wow.. this explains so much, I never knew this hobby ran so deep, every time I re-scape (hoping to improve on the last) I spend hours without even realising and never get bored of it. Thankyou for everything and all of the inspiration you’ve given me and many many other hobbyists!
This is one of the best video's I've watched since a long time !! Not only about aquascaping , but about life and state of mind ... I recognize a lot of thing in building my paludariums right now . It's not alone mindfulness; it's flow and growing as a person :-) Thanks for the great video !!!
Balazs, thank you for producing such a vulnerable, insightful and challenging video. I’m just venturing out into the beautiful world of aquascaping. For me, I’m actively engaging with a spiritual element as I believe I’m created and yet, also, a creator. Engaging with the divine in the exuberant beauty of nature. I love (d) your view on flow and the way you communicated your process. Thanks again for being the beautiful human being you are, you bring much joy to many, including me.
I have only recently got into aquascaping, and I discovered you channel, and so much information say I can related to, I am a Mindfulness instructor and this video is amazing. I love the psychology behind flow, and i ended up getting the body for myself.
This is the greatest video I ever watched in this channel... Probably, I may not be wrong saying that this kind of content in aquascaping is very very rare in the whole internet! Thank you!
such an amazing video mate ! congrats ! this was huge. i saved this to my playlists but then i decided ill watch abit of it... guess what i stood till the end. had a break around the middle to digest.. to have an intake about all of it, literally took a pic of my surroundings with my phone in that moment. ~ 4AM. thank you for this vid and for all the knowledge that i got from you ! im still a rookie but your years of experience and all the little details from your vids and other similar ones massively improved my "database". i wanted to "save" my dad from depression by getting him an aquarium last christmas ~ 1month ago .. he refused my gift so i got "stuck with it".. even if i have a family and busy job as u described in the beginning of ur vid.. ok im not such a "big boss" .. still i have many hobbies like hockey and furniture building. furniture of all kinds wooden/laminate escapes me as well.. so since getting my 1st aquarium without any knowledge, without any previous studies, just with a 2 hour discussion in a local fish store (where i had so many questions that 3 employees had to come 1by 1 to answer my questions), all i do is watch 24/7 aquarium related stuff... videos / products from shops around me.. making huge excel files of setups i want to do (including costs).. thought this hobby is "cheap", fishes r so cheap.. setup is so cheap.. mhm .. 64L starter tank was little over 100eur. im already around 1000 eur with all the foods n chemicals and accesories, and i still dont have a serious filtration system and a clock run co2. a few years ago Mate Gabor was giving a speach about history just before a team building dinner evening we had in Tata.. i realize now i was such an ass not paying full attention to it while beeing very hungry. i didnt even remember his name i just remembered the appearance. even with family/work/hobbies my life was getting dull.. i got so busy i dont have time to exercise enough, to spend even more time with my lil girls. weird im so into aquascaping and keeping a few shrimps that dont get eaten by my fish or my Betta.. i never liked flowers except bonsai and maybe palms. i wanted 4ever to get a bonsai instead of another cool flower i had in my office. but was afraid i wont have enough patience for it.. and now im planning a ~ 33 L aquascape for the office. damn this comment got long and its too much about me when it shouldve been about u. i'm from Csikszereda. and i hope i will be able sometime to shake hands with u and thank you personally if u r up to it. or maybe even watch a pro do an aquascape in ur labs. big respect ! Istvan.
DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!, I have long thought my aquarium maintenance was a form of meditation cause when i do maintenance I am only doing maintenance you know but now I have a whole new level. I have lots to think about, I really appreciate the insight, thank you.
Thanks for making this video! So much knowledge and made think about why I enjoy aquascaping! Would love to see more this style of video from you guys in the future!
Wow! Balazs just got real, open, and honest about the unnoticed and often times hidden aspects of our lives. Thanks for sharing some for what makes you who you are. This will certainly bring me a deeper appreciation of why I enjoy this hobby. Plus there is so much from this video that we can apply to our lives to help us grow. Totally unexpected! Absolutely needed!
been through in depression for years and years.. one of the thing that keeps me going its aquascaping.. i often lost the essence of time for hours to scape, maintenance. and at that time i just forget how frustrating life can be so glad you make this kind of video
This is a truly amazing video! I have learned so much and will definitely read the material recommended. Truly a life changing video. Thank you so much!
Loved this video. I've heard of the concept of Flow before, but never applied it to tank maintenance. In the future I'll take the time to get immersed and enjoy it!
Thanks for this video. It is very impressive. I did a lot of things in aquascaping with no real goal. From now I starting to see this hobby differently. Thanks !
I find it odd that a video I skipped over a dozen times was actually so important. I've been unfocused and unhappy lately; slipping into negative thoughts you called entropy. A lot of the concepts here aren't new to me, but I must have forgotten them. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Wow Balasz! I’ve been sober for 6 years too! Picked up aquascaping hobby soon after. I find it so interesting that so many people have done the exact same thing after becoming sober. Congratulations on 6 years my friend.
I love this video and i love the way the video was presented. Im only 17 and i started aquascaping about 1 and half years ago. And made more than 6 planted tanks. This hobby from what ive learned as he mentioned is trial and error. Love these types of videos and love the channel too♥️
Firstly and most importantly, congratulations on 6 years. I generally enjoy your videos, but this one was superb. I am very much at the start of the aquascaping journey, but I have learnt that I do it for the fleeting moments of balance in the tank. Each act of success or failure takes me a step closer to understanding that perfect moment of balance. At the moment I'm still crashing around like a fool, but one day...
I have seen all your videos and this is probably the first video who push the like. What you say is the reason for your success and congratulations! I have completely identified! Many many many bravo!!!!!!!!!
Cheers brother, thanks for the support, glad you liked it. I actually really like using my mind, and not only my creativity, and I'm glad there are people out there who appreciate it. :) Cheers again.
I’ve still got about ten minutes left, but thank you for this great piece of work. Super enlightening and very motivational. Mental stability is key in any hobby, and life in general, and I think you did an outstanding job sharing this. Will definitely be picking up the mentioned books to dig deeper on the subject. Thank you again, and cheers as always!
Not sure why I have tears in my eyes by the end of your video but that was the most thought provoking and motivational talk I’ve heard in a long time. Thank you! Thank you for taking the time to bring this message to us all. I’m so thankful I discovered the beautiful world of Aquascaping this year and the community of people who enjoy sharing ideas, know-how and help. It is transforming the love of my fish tanks hobby to a whole new level now. Live plants, wood and rocks are replacing the years of plastic and resin decor I always had in all my tanks. It’s quite lovely to know I am now creating a live enriching environment for the fish that I enjoy watching in my tanks everyday. So many new things to learn and it’s always evolving. My only regret is I wish I discovered Aquascaping years ago! Imagine all the wonderful scapes and knowledge I would’ve had by now. But am also excited to learn what I can and enjoy each tank makeover as I go. 🥰
Thanks so much for the kind comment, I'm glad the video has moved something in you, you must be a wonderful person. I'm sure you will take your skills to a higher level with time, you did not waste that one year. :) Cheers!
Dear Balazs. Thank you for your greatest video. I am glad you have find your way and share it with your audience. Wish you all the best! Kind regards from Poland!
What a class... As a begginer, I see how I started with a such huge goal that was really beyond my skills (0 at first, close to 0 now), and as a result I spent more money and time in this patio pond palludarium. In the end, the result was fantastic for me and I still enjoy the everyday maintenance I have to do because of my lack of experience. Hope to be able to build more and better tanks, thanks for all the videos and knowledge passed to us.
Balasz, you are mapping out a brilliant offshoot of the hobby and making it more than merely a hobby. GreenAqua videos were already the most varied posted by anyone, and this is wildly unlike anything else and very, very welcome. We all need to think more about what we are doing, why we are doing it, and how we choose to go about it. I watched with fascination and a bit more emotion than I care to admit.
Its really amazing your way of record and teach. I miss this kind of approach now a days, especially here in Brazil. People really need more "Flow" and naturality to do and say things to other people, without expecting money or popularity. My sincere congratulations.
thats the reason i called you legend. you know how to inspire and motivate us. every word in this video is valuable for happy aquascaping and best life. you get best ideals for great path to follow. well done legend. thanks for boost our passion for nature hobby.
This is by far your best video ever. I do believe that the ones who recovered from their addictions are people of light, they succeeded to get off from hell. I wish you the best. Thank you for sharing yours goats.
I'm a little late to this party but finally put the time aside to watch this... amazing video and I have taken so much from this video compared to the 100's I've watched previously to help me with not only aquascaping but life as a whole. Thank you
🇲🇽 Thank you for sharing knowledge and experience on aqua scaping and the psychology stuff that works for living our lives , as you mentioned it takes you time and effort but you are willing to share. Congrats in general!🇲🇽
You got me with first sentence. This video is so important, not only for aquascaping hobby. I hope that lots of people will see it and deaply think about how fast is our world going, why its spinning too fast. Couple of years ago i went through tough times, only since couple of months i reach the brittle sence of balance. Slowing down helped a lot.
Stunning video, Balasz! I love how you begin with the quote. And I'm really with you here. Personally I do aquascaping not because people fancy my living room with these planted tanks. Yeah, I like the feedback - it would be a lie not to say that. But I do it because it calms me down. When I had a stressful day at work, I get into my living room and do water changes, maintain my tanks, look at the fish, count my shrimps. I just enjoy the little place of calmness my tanks give me in that whole, dynamic, stressful world and I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity to do so. Nowadays it's more important than ever before (in my opinion) that you take some time for yourself to enjoy the things that matter to you personally. Otherwise you don't live your life for yourself but just for others (or worse: to please others)
This has to be the most fascinating video on Aquascaping I've seen!!....you made me realise things about myself I took for granted and never thought about. I may not be the best or worst...but more importantly I am an Aquascaper and my mistakes are my greatest lessons so onwards and upwards.
Dear Balazs, you were an Aquascape master to me, and I've been following your channel to learn the secrets of Aquascaping from you. And I've benefited a lot. (Except for my Green Fuzz algae problem, which I still can't solve. Try to keep balance CO2 level finally) After this video, I felt like I was listening to a real-life coach, and I found something of myself. I've taken my notes and I'll try to apply them in my own way. Thank you so much for your guidance.
I have tics and anxiety with depressive episodes. (Potential for ADHD/tourettes too according to my doctor) and I use fishkeeping to massively benefit my life. It calms me. I can actually focus on it because I lovey fish and tank so much. It's so rewarding. Thank you for teaching me more ❤️❤️
One of your best videos! Really enjoyed it, food for thought. When I am in the flow I don't think, I just go on instincts and let my creativity take the lead.
i came here to learn every thing in aquascaping.. but unexpectedly this video is so much to learn.. i didnt know that 35min pass by, i love every sec of it ♥️
Thank you for this video, now i know how to name the feeling or sensation i have when i work on my aquariums. It has been an enlightening and beautiful experience to watch this video.
I’m new to aquascaping and going through the ups & downs of trying and learning new things. This video helped me put things into perspective and realize to enjoy the Flow. Thank you 🙏😊
Amazing video! Being a US Army recruiter it can sometimes be extremely stressful and taxing, not just mentally but physically. I have a better understanding of why I turned to Aquascaping in a form of decompression and disconnect. Thank you green aqua for amazing content!
I just loved the video, thank you for sharing your principals, what you termed as your life themes and the deeper essence of aquascaping and the meaning it brings to ones life.. Thank you..
WOW, what a video you made, thank you so much... It's my first video about aquascaping without show us any tank, I really enjoy all of it... this is now in the top of my aquascaping videos with the Josh Sim's master class video. Personally as tech and religious person that I am, aquascaping is a therapy, an escape from my world and a connection with god where I'm part of his creation in the nature. Thank you Thank you
This video is going to be the most important video for both aquascapers and non aquascapers. Aquascaping and the fishes brought me out of anxiety. The Maintenance gave me the responsibility and a fixed schedule for Sunday early morning.
I have to say I love this video! There is so much more to the hobby than people realize. Thank you for the book mentions as well. Definitely going to be on my list of reads soon. This hobby has helped me so much! I still have more to work on however and I believe this may be of additional help!
I love the maintenance of my 2 tanks. I get lost in the process and forget everything else that might have been troubling me. I definitely have “flow” whenever I’m doing something with my tanks. Thank you for sharing this video and your thoughts. And thank you for your honesty about your own life journey
Thank you so much! This video helped me understand why I can sometimes feel frustrated even when I’m doing what I love the most. Now I know it is normal and I have ways and tools to work on it and to improve my own mental processes. What a precious gift!!! I Also enjoy the fact that this analysis can be applied to any action/hobby/project of our life. Cherry on the top: now I understand that it is OK to be continuously looking for the next step, trying to improve the result of our art/work/hobby again and again as a main motivation, because this feeling of « escaping from real life » is so addictive!… …wait… wasn’t this topic a reflexion about how to deal with addictions? 🤪😅
Gabor Mate is a legend. Anyone with any trauma needs to read his work. All of it.
Start with why.
Cheers George, yeah, it's a must-read, I agree.
I absolutely agree. He also recently released the documentary: The wisdom of trauma
It's a well made documentary. In some countries it's on Netflix. I'm not sure if you can watch it on their official website at the moment
Oh, it did not get to Hungary yet, will definitely check it, thanks for the idea!
I will🙏 thank you my friends🥰💖
Why?
Wow, amazing video. Thank you for this. I have never had tears in my eyes during a green aqua video before. As someone who has been living with an anxiety disorder for over 15 years (and thankfully recovering now) the aquarium hobby has played a large part in coping and recovering. This puts things into perspective. Thank you balasz! 🙏🏻
You are welcome, we have all been in similar situations, there is always a positive future waiting if we are conscious. Cheers!
You’re home 💚
🌄🙏
Yes, this is arguably the most important video here on Green Aqua. Thank you Balazs!
This is the best therapy session I ever had.
Again you nailed it !! This is one of the best videos ever about why we get lost in what we love, why we forgot the sense of time, and its because of "The Flow". And this was a humongous homage to the psychologists you made reference. Great Job !! 👍 Thank you so much.
Cheers, thanks so much for the kind feedback!
What an outstanding video. I was sitting infront of the TV spellbinded, totally in flow listening the whole time. You are an amazing personality Balasz, thank you!
Thanks so much for the kind feedback! Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers.
Yes🙏♥️
This is by far the best video I've seen on an AQUASCAPING channel aside the facts that it doesn't contain any tank build, maintenance or fish stories.
Thank you *GREEN AQUA* for the mental uplifting.
♥️🙏💖
Thank you for the kind feedback, that was good to read, mission accomplished from our side then. This is exactly why I did this topics.
And you have been one of the most wonderful teachers along with everything Green Aqua has brought to me 🙏🌿🐟💚
I got so caught up in UA-cam though that I was having information overload 😅 as with everything, I became addicted trying to watch every single thing that everybody put out and I had to slow down.
If this video was meant to help one person, I'm the one person!!
The world's we create and the nature we bring into our homes... Seeing the fish and the inhabitants of our aquariums along with the beautiful plants.. it is Living art... But it's more than that.. it's a safe place... It's calm and beautiful ❤️ you see something new when you visit and just sit down and watch what's going on within or under water worlds ❤️
One thing for me is I had never shared my hobby with others..
I just don't want to feel like time is running away, I found joy and happiness that before felt like a hole that I've always wanted to fill🙏
I know I always write long comments when I can.

Please don't worry about views when doing these videos instead focus on the fact you helped a few people. not with aquascaping but with life Thank you
And that is exactly why I did this video, not for the views. Thanks for the encouragement and the support Matt.
Amen💖🙏♥️
💚 truth 💚
Currently working on my first iaplc work while studying for grad school. I do both because I love both and crave the flow state on a daily basis. Cannot wait for my tests to be over with so I can continue working on my hard scape. I am happy that I have joined the beautiful world of aquascaping thanks to the inspiration of you and the rest green aqua squad
Glad we inspire Adrian, good luck with your exams, and your scapes. :)
This was insanely insightful in a way that’s hard to describe. Thanks.
You're welcome, glad you took some things away from this video.
Greetings Kevin, nicely put man, I totally agree with your views. You captured the essence perfectly by that constant growth perspective. Cheers!
Cheers!
Thanks for sharing your story with us, Brad. And thanks for the support. Good luck with your scapes, this is a great hobby indeed.
Amazing video. Really connected with it. A great reminder of why I started the hobby and not to get lost chasing things. Flow state is great. I haven’t read the book but I’m going to order it now.
You'll love it, enjoy! Cheers!
You are welcome, it is a very natural comment, not a weird one, good luck with your future aquariums, cheers!
Quote that helped my OCD/Anxiety: "Why think of the Past? It will cause sadness. Why think of the Future? It will cause worry and anxiety. Embrace the present moment!"
Word! My approach exactly.
You're welcome my friend, yepp, editing is really a flow feeling. I know that too.
Hands down, THE BEST video on this channel! Thank you so much for it!
Thanks Mr, glad you liked it! Cheers.
Thanks so much for the kind comment, and for your support, glad you appreciate that we do these types of videos too!
This video moved me deeply. I had encountered many of the issues you covered about the circle of "despair". Stepping back and applying what you said about flow, it feels enlightening. Thank you.
I wish you get to a point in your quest where you experience the same positive feedback from scaping as I have. Cheers!
@@arturpolak9683 congratulations on 12 years! Its so nice to hear there are other people in the hobby just like me.
Congrats guys, let's keep it rollin'. Thanks for all the feedback, it's good to know we share the same situation.
An extremely detailed video! Not many sources provide such information! 👍👍👏👏
Cheers, thanks for watching it!
So thanks!
@@GreenAquaShop thank you 🤗
Cheers!
Terrific segment! You are spot-on about why aquascaping is so enriching to our lives and mental well-being! Throughout the video, I kept saying "YES!" to what you were saying! Thanks!
Cheers, glad you found this agreeable. Thanks for the support too!
Wow, just wow.. this explains so much, I never knew this hobby ran so deep, every time I re-scape (hoping to improve on the last) I spend hours without even realising and never get bored of it. Thankyou for everything and all of the inspiration you’ve given me and many many other hobbyists!
You are welcome Brad, glad you enjoy this hobby as much as we do! Cheers!
This is one of the best video's I've watched since a long time !! Not only about aquascaping , but about life and state of mind ... I recognize a lot of thing in building my paludariums right now . It's not alone mindfulness; it's flow and growing as a person :-) Thanks for the great video !!!
Glad you could identify with the message Christophe. Cheers!
Thank you!
You are welcome, yeah, we wanted to do something else, not everything is about trimming plants. LOL.
Thanks!
You're welcome.
@@GreenAquaShop most amazing video. I also read the book of Mihaly. Many thanks for the inspiration!
You are welcome, it is a great book indeed!
such an amazing video mate ! congrats ! this was huge. i saved this to my playlists but then i decided ill watch abit of it... guess what i stood till the end. had a break around the middle to digest.. to have an intake about all of it, literally took a pic of my surroundings with my phone in that moment. ~ 4AM. thank you for this vid and for all the knowledge that i got from you ! im still a rookie but your years of experience and all the little details from your vids and other similar ones massively improved my "database". i wanted to "save" my dad from depression by getting him an aquarium last christmas ~ 1month ago .. he refused my gift so i got "stuck with it".. even if i have a family and busy job as u described in the beginning of ur vid.. ok im not such a "big boss" .. still i have many hobbies like hockey and furniture building. furniture of all kinds wooden/laminate escapes me as well.. so since getting my 1st aquarium without any knowledge, without any previous studies, just with a 2 hour discussion in a local fish store (where i had so many questions that 3 employees had to come 1by 1 to answer my questions), all i do is watch 24/7 aquarium related stuff... videos / products from shops around me.. making huge excel files of setups i want to do (including costs).. thought this hobby is "cheap", fishes r so cheap.. setup is so cheap..
Istvan.
As predicted, from what I understand this is not the most popular video. But to me, the most important. The essence of what make things... important.
Beautiful video love it. We all need to all just sit back and remember why we do what we love. Great video!
Thanks, glad you appreciate our effort. Cheers!
DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!, I have long thought my aquarium maintenance was a form of meditation cause when i do maintenance I am only doing maintenance you know but now I have a whole new level. I have lots to think about, I really appreciate the insight, thank you.
You are welcome, glad we opened up new perspectives in you. Cheers.
Cheers Alan, I completely agree with you our life learns from our aquascapring and vice-versa. :)
been through in depression for years and years..
one of the thing that keeps me going its aquascaping.. i often lost the essence of time for hours to scape, maintenance. and at that time i just forget how frustrating life can be
so glad you make this kind of video
Good luck with coping my friend, take care and keep on scaping. Cheers!
This is a truly amazing video! I have learned so much and will definitely read the material recommended. Truly a life changing video. Thank you so much!
Best video yet.
Everybody Can relate to the power of now. Good job displaying aquascaping as a tool for practicing awareness🙏🏻
Loved this video. I've heard of the concept of Flow before, but never applied it to tank maintenance. In the future I'll take the time to get immersed and enjoy it!
Thank you for making these amazing videos! aquascaping brings me great peace and slowing down in this hectic world 😇
I am a lifelong artist and I fully agree with you. I know what you are talking about. The best years of my life are spent in flow.
as always you are my weekly source of inspiration!
thank you very much!!
Good for you! Cheers brother.
I love this video and i love the way the video was presented.
Im only 17 and i started aquascaping about 1 and half years ago. And made more than 6 planted tanks.
This hobby from what ive learned as he mentioned is trial and error.
Love these types of videos and love the channel too♥️
Thanks so much for the support Ian, and good luck with your tanks!
Great video, Balazs. Addresses a number of topics I have been thinking about for quite some time. Thank you.
Cool, Markus! Glad you enjoyed it, cheers!
I agree with your point i started to love my garden plants more after my first aquascape
Yeah, that day will come for sure! Cheers!
Cheers, and enjoy the books, they are great!
Thanks so much Marcin! Glad you liked it! Cheers!
Thank you for this video. It came to me at the exact time I needed it! Blessings 🙏🏻
Wonderful video and topic, Balazs. I stayed to the end. I wish all of you good health, peace, and your own sense of flow. God bless.
Thanks Phil, for staying here to the end. Cheers.
Good luck with your future projects, I'm sure you'll get to a higher and higher level with experience. Step-by-step. Cheers!
Thank you for this video, guys! It was so satisfying and it brought a smile to my face at the end. :)
Oh, cool! Cheers!
Cheers William, I am glad that you support us doing not only tanks, but thinking about the reasons! :) Thanks!
This is one of the best videos i've ever seen. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
You're welcome, glad you liked this.
these are my favorite videos. A video to be enjoyed minute by minute. As always, you are a great team! Cheers!
Cheers, thanks for the support!
Best video on the channel! ❤️ Well done Balazs. Appreciate!
Cheers Glenn, thanks so much, glad you appreciate the topics that are a bit more than just aquarium builds.
Thanks so much for the kind feedback my friend. Your support has always meant a lot to me.
Thank you
You are welcome Daniel, you're never late. This is an ongoing party. LOL.

Thanks for this great video and great book recommandation ! I send You lot of positive vibes form Bruxelles !
One of the best motivating Video i saw. Thanks a lot. I needed this very much right now❤
You got me with first sentence. This video is so important, not only for aquascaping hobby. I hope that lots of people will see it and deaply think about how fast is our world going, why its spinning too fast.
Couple of years ago i went through tough times, only since couple of months i reach the brittle sence of balance. Slowing down helped a lot.
Yes Pawel. Slowing down is indeed important, thanks for the view and the feedback. Cheers.
Yepp. You captured the essence of this hobby completely! Congratulations!
To sum it all up...It's all about passion and doing what you love...that's the center core of this hobby.
Yupp.
Agreed with lots of what you say. Love all aspects of aquascaping and time definitely gets away from me when building or maintaining my tanks.
Glad you experience is similar to ours. Cheers!
This has to be the most fascinating video on Aquascaping I've seen!!....you made me realise things about myself I took for granted and never thought about. I may not be the best or worst...but more importantly I am an Aquascaper and my mistakes are my greatest lessons so onwards and upwards.
Cool Andrew! Welcome to the club then! Cheers!
Great video discussing real balance in life and understanding what is important and what is superficial. Thank you for sharing this.
You are welcome! Thanks for the support.
Wow 😮 This is the best video on this channel 👏 i love green aqua videos. But that was another level
Dear Balazs, you were an Aquascape master to me, and I've been following your channel to learn the secrets of Aquascaping from you. And I've benefited a lot. (Except for my Green Fuzz algae problem, which I still can't solve. Try to keep balance CO2 level finally)
After this video, I felt like I was listening to a real-life coach, and I found something of myself. I've taken my notes and I'll try to apply them in my own way.
Thank you so much for your guidance.
You are welcome, this is actually how I watch videos too, people can teach us many things. Hope you'll sort out your algae problem finally.
What a brilliant video! 👏 I watched every second and I was in the present! Thank you so much for sharing this with us and for your openness 🙂
You are welcome, glad you liked the video! Thanks for the comment too!
I like this couch session, really relaxing and inspiring video. I do get the same feeling, that flow feeling while maintaining a tank
Cool, welcome to the club then! Cheers!
I have tics and anxiety with depressive episodes. (Potential for ADHD/tourettes too according to my doctor) and I use fishkeeping to massively benefit my life. It calms me. I can actually focus on it because I lovey fish and tank so much. It's so rewarding. Thank you for teaching me more ❤️❤️
I'm really glad that this hobby helps you disconnect and focus. Keep on the practice, it helped us many. Cheers and good luck with your future scapes.
@@GreenAquaShop thank you so much. I learned alot from your channel when setting up my newest tank. Ever greatful :)
Of course a life changing video would come from an aquascaping channel and of course it would come from no one else but you :)
Wow, thanks so much, glad you appreciate the message! Cheers!
One of your best videos! Really enjoyed it, food for thought. When I am in the flow I don't think, I just go on instincts and let my creativity take the lead.
That's a good state of mind indeed, thanks for sharing that feeling with us. Cheers.
i came here to learn every thing in aquascaping..
but unexpectedly this video is so much to learn..
i didnt know that 35min pass by, i love every sec of it ♥️
Thanks so much for the kind feedback, glad you could take away something from this. Cheers!
Bravo. Probably your best video so far. Thanks for sharing this.

You are welcome, thanks for the view and the comment. Good luck with your scapes!
Amazing video! Being a US Army recruiter it can sometimes be extremely stressful and taxing, not just mentally but physically. I have a better understanding of why I turned to Aquascaping in a form of decompression and disconnect. Thank you green aqua for amazing content!
You are welcome, welcome to the club! Cheers!
I just loved the video, thank you for sharing your principals, what you termed as your life themes and the deeper essence of aquascaping and the meaning it brings to ones life.. Thank you..
You're welcome, glad you liked the message and thanks for the support too!
Thank you Thank you
You are very welcome my friend, thanks so much for the kind words and for the energy it gives us to continue on this path.
Im a youtube addict and this is the best video I have seen in a long time
This video is going to be the most important video for both aquascapers and non aquascapers. Aquascaping and the fishes brought me out of anxiety. The Maintenance gave me the responsibility and a fixed schedule for Sunday early morning.
Good to hear that, thanks so much for sharing your story with us! Cheers!
years i watched you and for me this is by far the best video ever done
Thanks so much for the longtime support, and thanks for finally sending a short message. Glad you liked the vid. Cheers!
I have to say I love this video! There is so much more to the hobby than people realize. Thank you for the book mentions as well. Definitely going to be on my list of reads soon. This hobby has helped me so much! I still have more to work on however and I believe this may be of additional help!
You'll love those books.
Uiuiui, so much to think about. Thank you very much for this refreshing video.
You are welcome. Glad you liked it. Cheers Frank!
I love the maintenance of my 2 tanks. I get lost in the process and forget everything else that might have been troubling me. I definitely have “flow” whenever I’m doing something with my tanks. Thank you for sharing this video and your thoughts. And thank you for your honesty about your own life journey
Cheers Mandy, glad you have that feeling and appreciate it as much as we do.
Cherry on the top: now I understand that it is OK to be continuously looking for the next step, trying to improve the result of our art/work/hobby again and again as a main motivation, because this feeling of « escaping from real life » is so addictive!…
…wait… wasn’t this topic a reflexion about how to deal with addictions? 🤪😅
LOL, it probably was. Glad it rang a bell within you. Cheers.
Ďakujem 🙂
Just discovered this video and loved it! I definitely know the flow moments… please moooorreee!!
Thanks for the kind comment, Joe! 🙏
