The forgotten Italian bomber

- The Italian Air force of World War 2, the Regia Aeronautica was far frow being as powerful as its German equivalent, but mostly because its lack of industry allowing to produce enough planes. Indeed, it had pretty good planes. And we can easily say that its main bomber, The Piaggio P.108 was even better than most of German bombers because it was the only four-engine bomber of the Axis. But today I will make discover another bomber of the Italian Air Force which entered in its ranks but had not the occasion to demonstrate its potential : The CANT Z.1018 Leone!

That as a nightfighter ? Worser idea than making a Dornier 217 a nightfighter
This is an incredible aircraft, and probably to the Allies' good fortune that it came too little, too late.
From a quick Google check, the only 1/72 scale model kits I could locate online are expensive, limited production (I guess for added authenticity) resin kits. But AZ Models is bringing out an injection molded kit in the near future that will hopefully fill this gap in any Regia Aeronautica collection.
As a sidebar, I also Googled the CS-10 shown at 8:49, but could not find anything; much less any model kits in any scale or medium. Please consider a future video of this interesting aircraft! (When I was in Junior High School, if my friends and I knew of the CS-10; we'd of probably just put an Me-262 in Regia Aeronautica markings if no actual kit was available, (just as we would have done if we wanted a Nakajima Kikka.) But after building kits for over half a century, I'd like something better . . . .
Thanks for sharing this!
20th like.
Yes indeed, it is a good thing that it was not used like for any weapon. Concerning the CS-10, I will surely make a video of it since I think it is the best lost project of Italy! Concerning a building of this model, I found some 3D CGI of this plane so maybe it can be used for a 3D printing.
Thanks for your nice comment :)
All too true; for better or worse, 3D Printing is the future of our hobby. It has its advantages to be sure. But I'm nostalgic for injection molded styrene plastic.
Thanks in advance for your intention to make a CS-10 video. As a matter of curiosity, what could I possibly Google to get more information on this elusive "paper plane?"
@@modelermark172 For now, I found those web sites that talks about this plane : www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fit.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FCampini_CS.10&psig=AOvVaw3063bdsFddYLrdq9oIrkSZ&ust=1705481200759000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBIQjhxqFwoTCIjost_C4YMDFQAAAAAdAAAAABAD

Thank you. I'll check those out.
So much Time and resources wasted on almost nothing being produced . All due to failed leadership . Alas the Italians were unwilling Allies . lol
Without Italy Germany did not last beyond 1941. Now go and study history before writing nonsense
But you’re just an ign* rant cl* wn
Italian? Well no wonder why it was forgotten !
Yes xD, jokes aside, some Italian planes and also projects of the end of the war were pretty impressing.
Ars you down?
Not surprising because people know propaganda and not history
