I did the same thing. Quit my job, moved to another state where I didn’t know anyone with no back up. After I moved and got settled in I prayed and I think it was the next day I got a phone call to schedule an interview. Now I work in accounting which I thought I would never do. You just never know. And just to add .. I don’t think I’m really meant to be in this job for a long time but it’s a way to support myself until I fulfill what I want to do
I quit my high paying tech job and my last day is Friday. No back up and no friends or parents to move in with. However, I couldn’t power through the mental and physical health issues the job was causing any longer. Funny thing is that I’d been complaining to leadership that it was overwhelming for months. Within 24 hours of me putting in my notice they found THREE people to take the workload. Further confirmation I made the right choice. I know something better will come soon. Thank you for sharing your story. It’s comforting during this time of transition and uncertainty.

What I will say is I loved how you prepared by seeing all the doctors before your benefits ran out. I feel like that’s something most people would forget. Especially if they’re in a toxic work environment. Thanks for sharing your story!!
Yes, it’s happening everyday in the workplace. I had been contemplating quitting for about 3 years, so I made sure I took everything I earned & worked for from that job…lol
I gave my two weeks notice today at my FT job I've been at for 5.5 years. Im 46 yrs old, no kids, or S.O. don't have another job lined up, in graduate school and working FT was too much. I decided to put myself and my education first. I am freaking out a lil bit in my head, but have inner peace, GODS Peace, in my heart. My job burned me out! I worked for 6 months doing 2 peoples job and did it well! But realized I was taken for granted and my work environment was dysfunctional. I felt like i had to carry the load i was carrying, when really i didn't have to! Took lots of prayers and therapy sessions to put in my resignation notice today. Stepping out on faith to a new path into purpose ❤️🙏🏽💯
I'm so happy to hear that you're investing in yourself and depending on God for provision. Sounds like you were carrying a heavy load, so I hope you get everything God has for you :) Please keep me updated on how everything works out. Be blessed! 🤎
This is me, I’ve been there for yrs and I hate my job so much, it’s beyond draining. The biggest problem is finding a job that works with my kids schedules/ school. Congratulations! 🎉 I literally daydream about quitting mine, no notice, just done. You have no idea how much a bad work environment effects you, till it does.
This is literally my story right now. I am currently considering an exit strategy with Thao. Job lined up when I leave. I’m already looking to leave in the next month. Wish me luck.
I’ve got a handful of life chapters like this. Half the time, the grass IS greener on the other side. Just gotta have faith and put some effort into the faith.❤ your story.
Im 5 months into a job that i absolutely hate. I have been hoping it would get better, but it has only gotten worse. I'm putting in my notice in 1 week. No clue what im going to do for work but i know i CANNOT and WILL NOT continue dealing with this stress
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my UA-cam channel 7 months ago about self development. Now I have 696 subs and > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place. This channel also inspired me to upload my recent videos to share my opinions about the main things that truly impacted the way I live. They're a couple of my most vulnerable videos that I've been hesitant to post for many months because of the fear of being misunderstood but I finally decided to overcome that fear so others can learn from my experience so we can all grow together. They're packed with valuable information about the relationship between a job and happiness.
I came from a toxic work environment. New employees would quit their first day. Sometimes would clockout for lunch an never come back😂. Usually it had to do with management's attitude not being clear about the job description.
I have found my passion and sadly it’s not at my current job even though my job is a blessing. I am in the midst of starting my own business and that’s all I think about while at work. It’s scary because I’m assuming this is how people feel when they want to quit to pursue their passion. I also hate the traffic going to work and coming home. It’s draining. I’m glad you stepped out on your faith 😊
@@finestgrowth Everything is moving in the right direction so far. I still have a couple of things to do concerning my business and website, which should be up and running soon. I’m still working my 9-5 lol. Thank you for asking!😊
Congrats on having the courage to quit. I too decided to move to Texas. After only visiting Houston for the first time a month prior. On the second visit I brought a house( unlike Florida where they had no inventory or it would be delays after delays to finish a house). They actually had new construction inventory waiting to be brought. It’s been seven months so far and it’s been positive. Had to adjust a little being that it’s a different state and culture. But I’m good here for now. Hope everything is going well for you. Had to quit another job here because of one of the reasons you stated, that damn commute smh…Houston is just too damn big. At this point I feel like just taking a damn gap year from work lol.
Thanks for the kind words & congrats on purchasing a home and moving to Houston! I hope all is going well with you too and that the job experience gets better. Be blessed, and remember that you've done all the hard work already!
For any incentive, salary, and role do not take your employer's word for it. No matter how positive a relationship you might even have. If you both come to an agreement, tell them you'll start once they put all the details in a contract you can sign (and keep for your records). That way you can accept it and be able to go back to it if they try to compensate you less or give you duties outside of what you agreed to.
This is great advice! Yes, I definitely learned my lesson. Sometime you think you can trust them, but it's always a good idea to keep proof of what you've agreed to. Thanks for sharing your advice!
Thank you for sharing your story beautiful Queen! I can relate, unfortunately. This was the confirmation I needed to quit my job next month. Great strategy on the medical and dental before you left. I will list out my gifts and talents to turn into side jobs during my time off. I will pray that all goes well because I'm planning for a 2-3 month break before jumping back into the workplace. I have savings I can live off of thank goodness. Wishing you continued blessings, health, and success in all that you do. I pray you are doing well and happy!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Happy to hear that you're moving towards new opportunities. Please get some well deserved rest on your break in between jobs and, I hope everything works out for the best. Be blessed!
Thank you for sharing your experience. I can definitely relate. Love how you utilized your medical and benefits wisely. The amount of workload they pile on or expect you to carry with little to no compensation is ridiculous. Experiencing something similar and I feel so burnt out. Its worse when they hound and harass you on your day off. Learned to put up boundaries but some environments are just toxic for your emotional, mental, and spiritual well being.
I'm so happy to hear you're setting boundaries, that's a great start! And yes, no one should be bothering you on your off day. Rest is essential, so make sure you're getting yours.
Yes girl I'm planning on quitting my job pretty soon my boss been micromanaging me for 2 years, It seems like they have a personal problem with me because nobody else isn't being micromanaged but me. I would of quit 2 years ago if it wasn't for covid pandemic shutdown.😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Wow!!! We have a very similar story however, I move from Miami to Atlanta for an opportunity that turned out to be toxic. After 2.5 years I walked as well. Blessings to you and thanks for sharing your story tomorrow will make one month that I’ve been gone and feeling so much better mentally and physically! This is my story. I currently work in corporate at a Superior Court as a Courtroom Clerk. Been at the court for almost 10 years. I'm constantly looked over for promotion. Like you, part of my passion is being a writer, and I still believe in my heart that's part of what I should be doing. I do write books, but after working all day my energy is drained and the support is not there. I started my own business years ago, but it's been borderline struggling since starting. I've considered leaving my job, but have been faced with some medical challenges, so of course I feel stuck. My job is my only means of financial survival, but I keep mentally going back to my dream. Not sure what will happen, but I'm open to what's next.
Sounds familiar to what I’m going through currently. I’ve been in a role for almost 2.5 years; a role that requires working in tandem with an RN. I’ve worked with three RNs due to high turnover. Over it
I completely left after my assigned shift in 2021 before going to Amazon. However PTO couldn’t be paid out to me I felt like nothing was ever going to happen when concerns arise on the job. I was working 11-8 M-F. Amazon is overworking others but at some point I need a balance their hours and my shift now is 1:20-11:50am F-M. 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏽♀️ over $15 is just not enough to do anything when you have to pay a few bills and there, hardly any money is over to save. It’s takes longer. I completely agree have a job before leaving and just because you get the interview doesn’t guarantee a final offer, decision.
That’s also very true. It definitely depends on the circumstances. The salary was a major reason I decided to pivot and try something different. In today’s time, sometimes the best option to getting a raise is to switch jobs. You make very valid points though. Thank you for your comment and perspective!

This concept isn't as crazy as everybody makes it out to be. For example you walk in one morning and they fire you. Okay now you're out of a job with no back-up plan. They can do that to you at any time. So really it's overplayed the notion of having a backup plan because it doesn't always and actually I would say rarely works out for you anyway.

I also quit my job at 52 year old. Saved 650k and moved to Spain. Life is too short , now living the dream.
