- चीन की एक कंपनी एंडीस पर्वतों में नमक की चट्टानों से लीथियम निकालने का काम कर रही है. लीथियम को 'सफ़ेद सोना' भी कहा जाता है और इसका इस्तेमाल बैटरी बनाने में किया जाता है. ग्रीन इकोनॉमी के लिए ज़रूरी खनिजों को प्रोसेस करने में चीन का दबदबा है. अब चीन ने इनका खनन भी ख़ुद शुरू कर दिया है.
