Sheep and goat herdsmen of Taksera village in East Rukum district spend 6 months in Himal (Buki Patan) and 6 months in Terai(lowlands).They go to the mountains during the rainy season to avoid summer and stay there until the winter season starts. When the winter season begins,to escape the snow, they head towards the lowlands.
The sheep, goats and herdsmen of Taksera village usually go to Tarai towards the end of November (Kartik month). They spend the whole winter season there. When the summer starts towards Terai, they return to Himal (Buki Patan).
