Great review. Glad to see that they added a CX410 Wi-Fi model but I never understood the reason for the Wi-Fi feature unless you use the camera inside a building where you have a power source near the camera. If you place the camera outside, majority of the time you will require POE for power and send data through the same cable which is more secure, provides better performance and distance, and is more reliable. The lower frame rate for the Wi-Fi version may be due to a performance issue with Wi-Fi. After watching your excellent reviews, I currently have (6) CX410 POE cameras connected to my Reolink NVR for 6 months and they have been performing perfectly. The accuracy of the Reolink AI software is excellent and the low light performance is amazing. IMO, I don't think it's necessary to wait for 4K CX410 because the clarity of these cameras at 2K is excellent. By the way, I upgraded to the latest firmware version for the POE cameras and I now have HDR feature turned on in the Reolink android app. I like that Reolink keeps updating their firmware and improving their product line. IMO, Reolink is the best system for the money.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I agree with you with WiFi cameras but there is definitely a market for it that Reolink is capitalizing. Wired PoE with NVR setup is the way to go. I have to update my CX410s to get the HDR feature.
Can you tell me if the camera records 24/7 does it still have triggers for motion so you can find the spot ? And if set to just motion triggers do you only get a 16sec clip and that’s all ?
There are plenty of people who want to install cameras in locations that don't have access to an Ethernet cable, but have an outlet like a detached garage, barn, shed, etc. 9:10
Would you take this one or Tapo colorpro camera? And which one has a better microphone for better 2 way communication?? Thanks!! Great video keep it coming.
Just a heads up, the PoE version does have HDR option on its latest firmware version. It's quite helpful if the spotlight turns on, and it is monitoring something very close, as it stops faces etc being washed out when the background is very dark.
I appreciate you saying what you telling us what you see when out in the yard. I was curious if criminals would be able to see the camera at night if it had a spot light or something and you explained it.
I have 2 questions for you. How would you compare this with the spotlight on at night to the 811? Has Reolink hinted to you when they might release the cx810 in the US?
All spotlight cams with regular sensors except for the 823A have their video quality at night with only their spotlights ON deteriorate quick beyond 15-20 feet. The CX410 doesn’t need a lot of light to have better footage.
Does the WIFI version also support POE or can be powered through Ethernet? Or it can only be powered using the adapter? I know the question doesn't make sense but I have a strange use case for it. Thanks!
That is sick how good the color is in total darkness.. Game over crooks ! Now for price point 89 bucks vs Rings Stick up cam Pro of 180 bucks .. tHE CX410 WIFI KILLS IT ON EVERY LEVEL ! My old issue is that my outdoor power is limited . why would anyone buy ring at this point?
Good review. The image quality can vary depending on outside conditions. foggy nights and mornings are more challenging light conditions. My electric clothes dryer exhaust vent makes a cloud of water vapor during colder months and it fogs the footage for nearby cameras. I have 2 cx410 Poe cams right now until the cx810 is out. and I will say it is far better than black and white infrared. even other reolink models like the 810a 820a 410a using color mode with lots of supplemental led floodlights won't have anywhere close to the same video quality as the cx410. Low light image sensors are not magic but are a big improvement over regular sensors. I have both of my cx410s facing the street and the ambient streetlights are enough to get acceptable footage. I get a slightly yellowish tint with sodium vapor bulbs and my lawn grass color is washed out imagine a green that looks kinda grey. I have another poe led floodlight turn on automatically for ai motion events and I get daylight quality footage with the cx410.
I recently purchased this, but I can’t seem to get the screws off the back of it to put the SD card in. Do you know any shortcuts of how to do this? They’re super tight.
Hi I love your videos, you are doing this properly. I have a question - I bought some Wyze V3s but I am having connection issues with the wifi, the clips are slow to load and the video is choppy and unreliable. Moving the thing closer to the wifi router is not possible and I really don't want to do ethernet so I'm wondering if a model like this one with the larger antennaes maybe would help. Have you done any testing on wifi ranges on any models? I can't find anything on this.
As usual, another great review. I'm finally at the point of wanting to replace my NEST cameras and I think this might be it. There is a lot to like about this camera. And for the cost of a 1 year subscription to NEST AWARE it pretty much covers the cost of the reolink NVR. One comment on the audio that I'm hoping you can suggest to all of the camera manufactures: If you listen to the THUNDER sounds whenever the wind is blowing it is super annoying. And it would be so simple for them to somewhat fix by applying a simple audio filter (in software) to remove all frequencies below 120Hz. Feel free to ask me for more info on this if you like. Also, can you clarify one thing for me. If I have the Reolink NVR can I view the live and recorded footage from my office computer's browser? Or is it limited to just mobile devices? Thanks again for what you do.
My CX410W night vision is utterly crap compared to Blink outdoor. It's very grainy and ghosty. Im going to try their 4K version and also the tracking style camera, and if it doesn't improve I'm onto some other brand. Night vision reminds me of some junk from best buy 15 years ago.
