I installed 9 Lumary lights with the Lutron smart single pole switch I haven’t connected them to the app yet I just used the switch but every time I turn the switch ON the lights flash for a minute after it they just work fine .Thanks for the video! I really appreciate it how you explained step by step about the lights.

The soffit lighting is very similar to recessed lighting. BUT I will be working with a reputable lighting company in a couple of months to do a recessed lighting video. Make sure you are subscribed to see that 👍🏽

In the demo videos that Lumary puts on their page, it shows color combinations, but in a way that also looks like fade transitions. Do they do that, and is it customizable? Second question, do you still like them? Any user frustrations? Any hardware issues? Regrets? Thanks again. Your video really helped me narrow my choices down.
I don’t think they do fade transitions. & if you have a scene that changes colors, the lights might come slightly out of sync, since they are individual lights. Some people including myself have had sync issues but it’s usually at the start. You shouldn’t have too many issues if you have a strong Wi-Fi connector and/or Wi-Fi extenders. I don’t see myself really changing the colors that often unless it’s a holiday or I want to dim the lights. They can be glitchy at times but I think that’s with every brand tbh. I’m not too picky unless it doesn’t work at all. The only other brand I would be willing to try is Govee, but I’ve never used their recessed cans. If you decide on any, make sure to use my code to get yourself a discount on either brand! Hope this helps!
So I’m buying the smart disk lights for my outdoor soffit lights but will not have Wi-Fi for awhile, only blue tooth. When I get installed will I have to walk around the house to each light and connect? Then do the same to program them? Once I get a group set up will I be able to control them all as long as I’m connected to one of the lights via BT? Thanks!
I have a question about the light switch you used. If you turn them off, do they loose power completely? Can you still see them on the app? Do they have to reconnect once the power is on? I know some switches leave them in idle mode. Your thoughts?
Good questions! If you turn the switch off, you will lose power completely & they will appear offline on the app. When the switch is turned back on, the lights will turn on right away. It will take a couple of seconds to appear back online on the app though. They will reconnect automatically. In the event that you lose your Wi-Fi connection to your house & you turn on the switch. The lights will turn on to the previous color setting they were last set to. I hope that helps!

These fixtures are installed like any other slim fixtures, so nothing the electrician needs to know! Once the lights are installed, they will start blinking & just need to be hooked up to the Lumary app. But for you as a homeowner, I would do a Wi-Fi speed test on your phone near the area where you want them installed. As long as the connection is solid, you should be fine. If the connection is weak, I would suggest a Wi-Fi extender! I also have another video of me installing these if you would like to share with your electrician 👍🏽
Izzy I have one more question it the instructions says it only supports 2.4ghz WiFi and mine is 5ghz. Is there a way around this to still get the lights to function?
I have issues with my last color light. It shows as sig-mesh and never installs. I also didn’t install a kasa switch. Totally on the app on my phone and still doesn’t install. Any ideas? Tech support hasnt been helpful. I tried auto/easy, ap/wifi and Bluetooth modes to no avail.
@sparky_izzy so to remove the delay that the puzes were having, you reset it and instead of adding them directly to the app via wifi, you add them to a “wifi+bluetooth plug” and control the colors and groups through the plug app… is that it?
If possible, installing a smart switch to control all the lighting would be the easiest. Or link all the lights to Alexa and have Alexa do the scheduling.
I’m not sure what pattern you’re looking for but they have a lot of options that change colors! And do NOT add these to a dimmer switch. You can add them to a dusk to dawn switch. If you want to dim them, you can do it in the app.
I have a different product from lumary, and anytime i lose wifi or dont turn the light on for a certain amount of time it starts blinking to reconnect. Do they only work if connected to wifi?
Yes! Unrelated! That number light was added by me. It is a solar light that comes on when it’s dark/motion. So it was turning on & off with the soffit lights. I like it because when my lights are complete off, Amazon can still see my address & deliver my packages 👍🏽
can you add a specific RGB color. seems the wheel is too clunky when trying to dial in the right color. For example if you have a sports team and you know the RGB color is there any way just to direct input the parameters versus screwing around with the wheel? billions of colors and your thumb on a iphone app is trying to dial it in wouldn't be too easy
At this time, I don’t believe you can type in a color code. But what you can do is find the exact color you want with the color wheel & click on the plus button on the top left to save the color! It’s better then having to find the color each time 👍🏽
The app is constantly being updated. It looks different from when I first started. To add a room > start at the Home Screen inside the app > click your home name on the top left > click home management > click your home name > click room management > click add room
Hi, we just added about 24 Lumary 6 inch lights in our house, and the lights are flickering. They keep getting disconnected and go on pairing mode automatically. Do you have any suggestions?
I was wondering if you’d be able to help with setting a timer. Every time I think I have it right they do something else. Also I keep getting an offline for one light and then another will do it. If they are offline and I delete them will they let me redo the setup on those 2?
I personally use a Lutron Wi-Fi smart switch for my timer, so it’s programmed on the Lutron app. What kind of timer do you have? & yes occasionally I get an offline light but it’s usually a light far away. I don’t have the best Wi-Fi at my house. I usually flip the lights off for a little bit & turn the lights back on and give the lights a couple of seconds to connect. But yes, you can delete those two but you MIGHT have to reconnect all of them again. I’m not 100% sure they will pop up for pairing right away.
@@sparky_izzy okay, I just use my phone, no switch but when I go closer to the lights they’ll link up. The timer I thought was just in the app but they’ll come on say 5:00 and if we aren’t home and pull in they’ll turn off and if we are home they’ll blink on and off every 10 minutes.
The reason I prefer a switch over the app is because if you use the app, you are relying on multiple signals to connect to the lights & turn each one on or off. Since it’s most likely far away from your router, it may not be as reliable as you prefer. With the smart switch, you are sending 1 signal to the switch to control all lights. Way more reliable & they all come on at once, no delay. I hope this helps!

I wouldn’t be able to if I’m not seeing what exactly is going on in your situation. The manual it came with explains multiple pairing methods. Also, do you have strong Wi-Fi outside your house? You can Google “internet speed test” to test your connection. If it’s poor, it’s your Wi-Fi.
@@sparky_izzy its in my living room, i have 2 lights on the wall. I connected them with cable and they work i can click the lights on/off but i am not able to pair them. I tried on/off/on/off/on but they still dont go into pairing mode thats why i cant even connect them to my wifi which is quiete strong (90 mbit/s) and exactly in the same room. I buyed the lights from amazon warehouse so they have been used before. Is that why i cant pair them? Because someone already paired them or are they broken?

Once you click on the group, swipe to the left or right to go from color changing or regular yellow lighting 👍🏽

The lights will still operate with no Wi-Fi but they will display the last color they were programmed to. Besides that, yes they need Wi-Fi

Is there a simpler way to program them to come on and off automatically. The app isn’t really clear on how to do it.
If possible, installing a smart switch to control all the lighting would be the easiest.

Maybe some Wi-Fi extenders near the area to make sure they have a strong connection.
