This song randomly played at the local supermarket yesterday. Itd been years since I had heard it and I dug this song so when I got home I had to find it and give it another spin.....
I am touched by the lyrics to this song. It captures what depression feels like. Ive felt this way. I remember this song growing up. I had no idea the impact of the lyrics
This was totally my song in high school, back in 2011, when genders were still somewhat binary and being just good friends with those of the opposite sex was a bit frowned upon, by both sexes. I hated the cliques, and this song was a seriously good outlet for grief
It sounds so feel good but once you understand all the lyrics you realized how brilliantly written & sad it actually is. Suddenly you don't feel like dancing anymore
The lyrics are open to your point of view. Life is more complicated that just happy or sad. I look at it as a song that there is good to be found even in the mundane! Pinch me! Because life is good, and I’m not dreaming….
I understand exactly what you were trying to convey in your post...... however..... I see it in the complete opposite fashion I see it from a point of I've been there done that and now I'm doing so much better you have to pinch me because I can't believe it's all real!!!!!! There are two sides to every story I try to also find the third..... hahaha LOL Peace Love Light Health and Happiness to you my friend!! 😘💨💋
This song always makes me think of a guy realizing there's more to life then what he's just seeing & he's trying to find more meaning in his life. I love this song 🎶

My mom passed away and I was cleaning out her apartment and I was thinking about how surreal this has all felt and the chorus popped into me head and I dropped to my knees and cried like a baby. Great song, great band. RIP mom.
They have that going for them big time (they write/sing/play tunes that speak to ALL of our emotions:), in spite of all of their great "happy" tunes, I love the wit and intelligence AND biting sarcasm they bring to much of their music!!
The entire second verse about running through the sprinkler in gym shorts, then changing into drier clothes and sleeping away the afternoon is like the perfect encapsulation of my teenage years. Random bouts of frivolity punctuated by long periods of sleeping.
Reminds me of the crazy summer vacations I used to have with my grade school buds. Nothing but swimming in the backyard and long bike rides at the park, playing videogames and laughing hysterically, not a single care in the world. Back then I believed that those days would last forever, and at the time it felt that way...then suddenly you wake up one strange morning and realize that it had all become a distant memory, and you're no longer in touch with the ones who made your childhood so special. Then you start sobbing uncontrollably while trying to grasp the way life is now, but instead of living in the present and trying to maintain some degree of joy you're stuck in the past wishing more than anything to live those days over again. And that's when depression comes by to pay a little visit. Only it isn't temporary.
Reminds me of this one long boring week during summer of 2004, sleeping in and gaming all day was great mind you, but my friends left for their vacations and I was lonely anticipating something exciting, me and dad left for our vacation after that very boring week and it was great 😊
"Mood" ought be a genre. Sub genre: sleepy, warm afternoon. The masculine of "Go Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae, or how "Any Lucky Penny" by Nikki Hassman, sub genre: summer twilight
I am so glad Bill wurtz shares about the time he went mainstream. seriously listen to one of his songs. the chorus is in accurate but any verse nails it. I'd you just added his animations it would be done.
This song is amazing but did they only do thee pinch me once throughout the song, the pinch me part is too valuable to only play once or twice, you gotta play the part at least 3 times minimum, is such a good part.
"Take your time cause the way I rhyme's gonna make you smile", sorry man, but I think I'm the one person in these comments who's frowning. I don't know what it is, but I REALLY dislike the lyricism of this song; the lyrics either sound so dumb that a 2yr old could write them, or the rhyme scheme just does not flow right. I mean, "there's a restaurant where hungry people like to eat"? Uh, duh. It's a restaurant. Hungry people like to eat at all restaurants. Idk, the lyrics just sound so simple and stupid it really rubs me the wrong way 🥴

Awesome tune by a wonderfully fantastic band. Specially this version of the band.

I'm still jamming with him in my heart!
Until Valhalla, Dad!!!
Did he die in battle?
Are you planning on dying in battle?
This song gives me nostalgia of something u didn't live and I miss it

This makes me tear up for some reason....
That's not my tears😥....👈 That's your tears.....its all good. 👍
Well, it is about depression... or perhaps it's just nostalgia hitting you?
That's nostalgia my dude, makes you remember simpler times you never thought would end.
Everything makes me tear up.

Yeah, to me it’s about the depression aspect of my ADHD. I’ve always felt the futility of it is expressed beautifully in this song.
I hear ya. Great way to describe it.> "Beautiful futility" is something I truly get.👏✅

God I remember 2004 when I didn’t exist.. fun times..
But seriously I had that same thing happen to me last year
Who Are You? Why Are You Here? The basic existential crisis simply needs you to take a sledgehammer to your conditioning to find out.

I remember hearing this song on one of the now that’s what I call music albums as a kid.
I keep trying to find out what's going wrong in this song. it sounds like it has a deeper meaning.
It's about depression, I think.
@@annabishop2087 Bipolar disorder, specifically.
I thought it was about working in fast food. Then again, not much difference.

Good job with the video.

My son (7) told me he didn’t like this song, and I said “that cause you’re happy, if you had depression this song would slap” 😂
i love when people admit they just want to sleep

Most useless line in the entire song...
Yeah like why are we here on this orb.
We are here to glorify God and learn to serve Him instead of ourselves.
Song would be better with a different singer, beat, tone, melody, and lyrics 🔥
This song sux. Everytime it came on the radio i changed the station. Bye
