*Uptight New York:* Insists on use of the callsign _Atlanta_
*Canadian tower:* Invents callsign _Iron Maiden 666_ 🤘😁
My dad is a longtime fan and he couldn’t pass the opportunity to say it 😏
virgin new yorker VS chad canadian 🤘😤🤘
They would not have settled for any other call sign \m/
Gotta love the 666 callsign!
This is literally metal in motion!
Bruce Dickinson is also the pilot of this iron maiden 747
Yes. He´s a flight captain.
Dammit, I’m going to have Aces High in my head all day now lol
ABD666 you're cleared for takeoff, have a great day and up the irons!
That's touring in style
+Corvette1 Indeed! :D
I don't know why nobody mentions this, but Iron Maiden's lead sing Bruce Dickenson is flying this plane himself. He's been a pilot for British Airways for years, and that's sort of the point of this promotional flight to the concert. The band also has it's own 747 they use when they tour, and he flies that, too. I'm sure he doesn't have any trouble finding the rest of the crew, he is an airline pilot himself. I'm not sure if this is the BA promotional flight they do, or if this is the Band's airplane, but that's him flying it. By all accounts, he's an excellent pilot.
It's not him flying it all the time, but definitely some of them it's him flying it.
He flew for the small charter airline Astraeus, not BA. And this plane is owned by Air Atlanta Icelandic.
UNITED POLICE STATES OF AMERICA he does not fly for BA nor for Astraeus anymore... Plane is chartered from AirAtlanta an iceland based company he owns a company in the UK Cardiff Aviation that gives maintenance and sim training and they own a 737 for charter flights.
Hate to break it to you but He is not flying this plane by "himself" it takes like 3 or 4 people to fly this plane dude.. He is a member of the crew sometimes...
@@flannel306 2 crew for anything below 8 or 10 hours depending whether flying by EASA or FAA regs.
Montreal Approach persisting that is an Antonov airplane hahahaha
A big private jet.
+Felaex Definitely! :D
THERE'S Aces High
watch that hitch pin boys we done screwed up thier last plane.
Bruce at the helm!😄
i dont understand why the controller who controlling this airplane with callsign ABD666 always says alpha bravo bla bla or atlanta (i know this aicraft ex air atlanta), but very rare were the controller call Ed force one for this callsign? why why why, everyone know i think, that, the iron maiden band on board this plane
+Ihsanush Shabri This aircraft has now flown more than 10 flights under the callsign ABD. It has been called ABD, Atlanta, Iron Maiden and Ed Force One. I'n sure if their callsign appears in the ATC radar screens or strips.
Thank you for explanation VASAviation -
Ihsanush Shabri
My pleasure! :)
Are you sure that is Bruce at the controls? It does not sound like an English accent. It sounds more Finnish, which would make sense because the plane was leased from a Finnish airliner.
It's the copilot you hear talking to the tower.
How is the audio quality that clear :o Thats awesome
It depends mostly on where the receiver is that's recording it is. Comms are actually normally pretty clear to the pilots and ATC. The reason recordings frequently sound so bad is that they're recorded from ground stations that are not located at the airport itself, so there are buildings and such (or the Earth itself) in the way. By contrast, the aircraft and ATC antennas normally have clear line-of-sight to each other, so the audio quality is actually pretty decent (for being analog AM radio, anyway.)
VAS Aviation : i may be wrong but I'm not sure the Maiden jet is a B747 : Are your sure of that ?
You're totally wrong, actually. Search for more videos in my channel. There are even videos of itself.
Yes ! I've just seen it.
you're right I didn't know that, it's a surprise for me !
I knew they had a plane, but I din't know about this big one !
A beautiful plane.
Have a good night, and, Up the Irons !
Pretty sure they used to fly a 757 before, I guess they upgraded.
Yes I've learned that here. Up the Irons !
Oceans Resurrection. For a time they flew in a 747-428.
they been flying with a backup crew? Not heard Bruce Dickinson on this or the previous atc.
+Stuart Taylor Well, Bruce can be heard in some of my videos. By the way, some pilots from Air Atlanta Icelandic are going with them all along :)
+VASAviation - can we assume then that Bruce has a back up pilot/co , then his co. just saying, I got to take off a few tymes ... so I'm ventering to say ..... Bruce does the take offs , to get the party started. then he heads to the back. (not questioning Bruce's piloting skills) but yes, he gets the bird flying. does the call me when we're 50 miles out. and I'll land this thing.... like plugging in amps.... they have people to do the small details.
+Stuart Taylor Bruce might be flying and not operating the radio.
@@losescrewzz4654 Ed Force One has 3 pilots (including Bruce). Bruce is a professional pilot who piloted commercial planes for almost 10 years when Iron Maiden wasn't on tour. He is a very skilled pilot. You can find a documentary (Flight 666), where he's doing take offs and landing too.
Bruce has said there are legs where he is not permitted to fly as the band schedule doesn't allow enough rest (legally required) before the flight
Iron Maiden 666
3:45 it's not EBGUR, it's ELTAT.
I'm sorry, I missed the 'funny' part.
Si
Whats up with the ABD?
+Max W The callsign is ABD666 (which can be said on the radio as either ALPHA-BRAVO-DELTA 666 or ATLANTA 666) but the Approach operators were mixing up the letters and saying ALPHA-DELTA-BRAVO. Additionally, some operators know that it is the Iron Maiden plane and so call it IRON MAIDEN 666 or even ED FORCE ONE.
+Max W 'ABD' is the official ICAO code for Air Atlanta Icelandic who have provided the plane and crew for Ed Force One. The callsign for Air Atlanta Icelandic is 'Atlanta' so this is also used by some controllers. I hope the crew are happy, as I've heard the management of Air Atlanta Icelandic treat their staff horrendously, and are very unorganized...
+Finlay Cox well, I'm sure they are doing a short lease until there's gets fixed. but the crews would be jazzed to attend to them.... but, I'm sure they have their own flight staff.
+Justin Tyme This is the same plane. It was fixed in 8 days.
cjmillsnun wow, it would have taken the NTSB a week to investagate the incident. Then a few more to get the plane recertified by the FAA.
Nothing funny here
can confirm
How's this funny atc lol
this one isn't soo funny. but, he's been following the iron maiden tour. I was looking for the ground call from the accident. I'd encounter his pic on the forums ( a few) and quickly determined if it was out there he would have posted it.... he gets around on this subject (iron maiden).
+VASAviation We had an RAF intercept today where a plane was redirected to Cardiff airport. Any possibility of you finding radio of that? RAF jets escort 'unresponsive' plane to Cardiff Airport - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-36001533
+Kelvin Zhang Will try my best! :)
+VASAviation - Thanks! I'll continue to recommend your channel to other people! :)
