I heard BFI was so fucking golden but I never seen them before, they existed when I was born till I was 3 years old! I was born in 2006 I only remember everything about consolidated and allied waste services I used to have them around west Los Angeles, they used to serve my neighborhood till Athens services had contract with all around west Los Angeles for commercial
BFI in SoCal had an awesome fleet if you ask me. The main units of their fleet was a batch of Peterbilt 320 Gen I Amrep Hardox front loads, some Volvo Wittke Starlights (Like this one but with the regular lift arms instead of the early Canadian ones as seen in this animation), a few 310 Peterbilt Gen I McNeilus Pacific Series, a couple Mack MR Heil Half Packs, and Autoreaches, Amrep ASL's, and some other oddballs for residential operations. I'm glad you liked the video!
@@TruckfilmingofLosAngelesCA The Peterbilt 310's were a staple of their fleet. Those Allied Amrep ASL's were originally BFI units too! They ran up until 2009 if memory serves me correct.
It sure is! I have yet to do another animation like this as I've been short on time. I've been uploading some random vids here and there that others seem to be enjoying too, be sure to check those out if you're interested. As always take care!
Could you possibly do a 2000s Mack MR with a McNeilus rear loading body, no tippers and BFI Canada marking? It would bring a piece of my childhood back.
That would be cool! The program I use to make these has a built in game engine but I am not experienced in that sector. There have been some Garbage truck sims in the past (Last one was in 2011 I believe.) but as most sims, they have solely focused on the European variants which in my opinion are slow, quiet, and rather inefficient. Besides if people had the audacity to make Goat Simulator a thing, why not a refuse truck simulator which I am sure may draw more people than the latter game which I try my best to forget it even exists. As always thank you for watching and stay tuned for more.
Go for it! (As long as the neighbors are okay with it.) I like to collect anything from a fallen flag company wether it be a railroad or a waste hauler. It's nice to be able to maintain and preserve a piece of the past.
Awesome video dude! Love that you decided to make some BFI, your wittke model is spot on too. Loved that packing shot in the middle of it. This video does some real justice for bfi footage in California lol. Hope to see more of this footage, as this is the 3rd time I’m watching this video.
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the video. The original Wittke's have always been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. I also have built this truck model in the Haul Away Rubbish scheme as unit 20 with modified forks and lift arms for lower channel dumpsters. You are right, there hardly is any BFI of California footage out here and I am glad to have contributed to the archives. The hopper shot was one of the hardest scenes I have done to this day but I love how it came out. I also plan on sharing some of these models for anyone interested in keeping a version of their favorite make as I have already quite a lineup after a year of doing this on Blender. Thanks for commenting!
That is correct, they were bought out by Progressive Waste which is now Waste Connections of Canada. As to the trucks, Labrie now owns both the Wittke line for Front Loads and Leach for Rear Loads. From experience I know that the modern Wittke's are subpar compared to their original counterparts, can't speak much about the Leach lineup though.
@@TrashBulldogProductions me neither. I’m more familiar with labrie than wittke and leach. As of right now GFL who is the contractor in winnipeg has wittke front loaders with autocar cab overs.
Thank you for your feedback. I have always been interested in these garbage hauling rigs and freight and passenger trains since I was a toddler. While at 7 most kids had learned to count by 2's and name different dinos, I could identify the make of a garbage truck or identify what type of freight train was passing by the tracks. Over the years I also got to know a handful of those who run these essential functions to our society and got a deeper understanding of how important their jobs are to our infrastructure, wether it be railroading or waste hauling. After having learned to use this software, I decided to recreate some of my favorite trains and trash trucks from makes and companies that unfortunately do not operate anymore to preserve them. I am glad to have learned this program because it has given me something to do during these rough times. Hope you and your family are also staying safe in Arkansas.
When I was a kid we lived right beside a train track, I always loved hearing the trains go by...life would be hard without all the heavy equipment we have...good job on your videos and have a great day !!!
These videos are amazing! Have you released any of the models, how did you get the logos punched into faces, and how did you model the packer / other details that can't be seen from the outside?
I have a few models up on Sketchup, but not this one yet. Most of the components were built using the schematics and blueprints for an actual Wittke Starlight. I have a video in my channel explaining this process a little more in depth. Check it out here. ua-cam.com/video/2MnjOZ_JnsE/v-deo.html
@@51wm05 Yeah, I have the schematics for both the current HX-450 Amrep model and both the Original Heil and the Freedom, so it is just a matter of building it now and redoing the 320 to make it a 520. I have not really thought about doing a modern day Labrie "Wittke" front loader. I mostly focus on classic models that no longer exist or are rare. But that could be something I do in the future if I find the blueprints for the Labrie Starlight. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more content!
Can you sell this truck ScratchFab? This truck looks very cool and want to do a animation in blender like this too! So would you put this ScatchFab for free so i can make a animation like this? if you do put it on scratchFab then send me the link in replys
Yes of course I am, one of them is having its final model details added to it before being animated and what not. This one though seems to be taking a bit longer because this is my first ASL model and is actually trickier to build than your typical front loader. So the answer is yes and you can expect a short video by June if all goes well. Meanwhile here is a sneak peek at the progress of the Amrep Octo ASL as of today. Been working for the past year and even arguing with an upload website since you are not the first to suggest that I share some of these models. I have a neat collection already of multiple bodies and chassis ready to animate and or share, it's just that it looks like I only got to upload one file and this platform banned me for reasons unknown. I have recently found a new platform and will let you know once it is up and running. As to the body, it comes in a Blender (.Blend file), and to open it I recommend you get Blender 2.79. If you have any questions just reply to me here.
@@TrashBulldogProductions Thank you so very much, I am not sure if the site, "thingyverse" will allow blender files but that may work. Thank you so much! Keep me posted!
Hey, sorry for the delay, I am in the process of pulling down the files from the old platform and uploading them into the new one. I responded to another comment of yours on the McNeilus Pacific video with my email, you can send me a message and I'll get back to you there. Also your site thingverse is able to host Blender files.
No it's made on Blender 3D. I used to do Roblox but those days are long gone. The smooth and realistic physics are still not possible on Roblox even though the game engine has come a long way.
