    I have also made several left handed cutters. I usually don't notice until the end, or worse, just as I'm showing it off to a coworker!

      @@GreenridgeMetalWorks I did that with my first attempt at a dovetail cutter, but no reverse on the mill required a remake.

    I would have never guessed you could anneal a bearing roller at home enough to machine it. I would have thought a 12 hour controlled annealing process would be needed.

      I have to admit, it was a bit on the hard side but that's probably because I didn't get it as hot as I intended.

      heat it up to 800* centigrade and put it into sand to cool down

    Very cool. I have a few large end mills I have considered trying to modify to brown and sharpe #7 taper to fit my mill

      I came across a #7 taper end mill holder in some junk I got at an auction the other day. Looks shop made but I don't have a use for it.

    After seeing this, I am a new subscriber. Very impressive. Your "eyeball" method result is better than many who have all the "right tools". Were there any special tolerances for the dimple? Thanks, Jerry.

    • @GreenridgeMetalWorks
      @GreenridgeMetalWorks  3 роки тому

      Thanks! No tight spec's needed for that job. I made this for a dimple on a blacksmiths swage block that my son and I made in another video. If you liked this video you should check out the swage block video.
