No matter how you feel about Davie, you have to appreciate the fact that he ALWAYS tries to bring a bigger audience to relatively smaller musicians. And he succeeds. Behind all of the memes and jokes you can see he is a genuinely good guy. He does not need to do any of this, and yet he still does it. Someone to aspire to be like.

Amazing talent that leaves one stupefied. I began playing at an early age but was no where near the immersion factor these young musicians are. It is a true joy to see the enthusiasm they display when performing as it brings old memories to light, and gives birth to the emotional tide that pulls us back in time to when we felt that rush of excitement when our captive audience for a brief moment, regarded us as spectacular while they cried out, whistled, cheered and clapped to hear more.

I love this.... These kids are great players. I never was taught how to play an instrument but I did learn how to play my musical 36" hand saw that kind you hand saw wood with a long time ago. Using several things to bang it to get a tune so where are those kinds of instruments at today being recorded???

Keep on keeping on. Learning music is like learning a language, when you first get started there's no point kicking your own arse to get every pronunciation absolutely perfect.
You need to learn a few useful phrases, perhaps the alphabet and enough useful words to get you conversing.
Then, once you have some basics you can go back and start to perfect what you already know and learn more and improve. So many people end up kicking their own arses before they get started or trying to learn things perfectly first go and we just aren't wired up that way. As a result, frustration occurs and the instrument ends up under the bed or at the back of a cupboard, unused.
I wish you the very best on your bass journey
