So….new student here. I also have an iPad 12.9” that I’d like to use for flying (ForeFlight, etc), but I’m finding not many folks have the BIG iPad for flying-it’s usually the smaller 10” one. How do you tend to use it in GA? Do you have it on a knee board? Yoke mounted (I can’t imagine it would fit, but I haven’t tried yet)?

I honestly didn’t think of sunscreen. I assumed the windows had anti-UV coatings. You’d think that would be pretty standard. Cars have it.
Melanoma is no joke. Both my parents have had it a few times.

Could you do a video talking about pilot health with radiation maybe where you talk to someone who knows more about what you mentioned. A lot of people tell me I shouldn't become a pilot because of that radiation.

LUGGAGE TIPS 1, 2, 3
Tie two or three colored ribbons around the handle to your luggage to warn others that this is not their luggage. People grab luggage at the turnstile and take it home before you ever see it.
Anywhere you put your bag, it could be grabbed in error. Example: overhead compartment, unloaded from the bus, at the hotel lobby, at the airport turnstile...
These ribbons make your luggage different and EASY TO SPOT when the piece is surrounded by 35 other cases unloaded from the bus.
Use 1” wide ribbons 14” long and not longer. Cut the ends at 45 degrees.
Scissor cut trim the ribbons to cascading different lengths after they are tied. Put a drop of Super Glue at the end.
If each ribbon is slightly a different length by 1/4” the color layers will all show up no matter how they drape.
Tie the 3 ribbons as a sandwich, as if they were one ribbon. Use a man’s tie, a half Windsor knot for the best look. After it is tied on, the total length of the ribbons will be about 5 inches from the handle. This is too short to catch on anything.
You can see this ribbon from 40 feet away. Perhaps tie TWO handles or RINGS top and side of the case. This way, it won’t slide around. This knot does not loosen.
Put your phone number on one ribbon using a permanent Sharpie.
Example: “Owner 454-333-7878”
Choose one ribbon with an unusual pattern or fabric to really make it unique.
Stand by the output port of the turnstile to reduce the chance of someone else grabbing your piece.
Tie your skiies, duffel bag, backpack and what ever else with matching ribbons-even your computer case.
If you are a Travel Agent, you could hot gold stamp one ribbon with your name and phone number. Send them a set of ribbons, red and blue and BLACK to your customer as a gift. Record this gift in your database so you don’t duplicate yourself.
Buy a gold hot embossing machine. Gold emboss your business name on the BLACK ribbon. Put the customer’s name on it if possible.
Pleasant color combinations:
Red and blue
Chartreuse and purple
Orange and light blue
Orange and yellow
Gray and pink
Green and yellow
Red and Green
Red and Gold
Light blue and light green
The third ribbon could be white, gray, black, tan
Tip #2 Take a cell phone picture of the ribbon tied on. Then another picture of the full luggage piece. You now have a way to communicate “what it looks like” if someone is tasked with searching for it. Take this picture outside in direct sun.
Tip #3 Place a strip of colored duct tape on the inside lining to your case. Put your name and phone number on this tape. If all identity is stripped from your case, you have this to show. If someone steals it and rips off identity tags, you can show the police officer the inside tape...

Hey Garrett I have really been pondering on becoming a pilot. I have not done a discovery flight but I plan on scheduling one. I was going to try flight school a couple years ago but I got a little intimidated and I wasn't sure if I could afford it but I'm thinking about giving it a shot again. The one thing that intimidated me is the communication aspect on your headset and understanding all the controls. I'm sure once you are around it day in and day out it gets easier but just curious how long it took you to learn everything in that aspect?

Hi Garrett, sorry, you’re wrong. The G2 is a gel pen, so it smears, and if your page gets wet… good luck. The best pen available is the Uniball Jetstream RT. Just as smooth, but a rollerball and doesn’t smear. You can eat your crow now. (Good-hearted teasing here)

Yes, I did gain value out of this video.The Tumi bag. Yes, I do, I do have a luggage fetish for a good luggage. So I have often looked at Tumi bags, I just really didn’t know what was so special about them. Yes, absolutely good luggage just last longer and looks new much longer. I remember on my first trip to Rome Italy I found my hotel and before I got to my room The luggage handle literally came off LOL. Not weird at all, I just find the small container of liquid bandage more convenient For any small scratch that may occur.
G- Great vid as usual. I keep pretty much the same stuff as you...except I recently started keeping some granola bars!
I also keep a screen cleaning cloth. Anyway, good luck getting to 100k Capt👍

Quick tip bro. This is only for those non interested aviation stuff but only peeped your video to see if it's cool or not it. Firstly, add other visuals or clips while your explaining stuff. This way people whom want to stay for the long haul on your channel for them not get sleepy or bored on the whole video. Another thing is incorporate background music. There are a ton of royalty free music you can play with online for it to be more cool. I'm also a vlogger like you and learned the ways and tricks too starting here on UA-cam.

Wouldn’t hurt to read a few flight manuals 🤷♀️. A great way to get into an airplane is look up your local Civil Air Patrol (CAP) squadron. You can join the youth section up till 18yrs old. (I plan on joining CAP this summer) CAP is the auxiliary of the United States Air Force and they help in search and rescue and help the community. I’m pretty sure you get 5 free flight lessons but I’m sure it varies per squadron and I’ve only looked at their website never gone to a meeting yet. But yeah it seems like a good opportunity.
