Always loved this song from listening to it getting ready to go out on the town as a young buck and of course living in a Northern Town was the icing on the cake. Not many songs celebrate our existence lol
Wonderful to see them perform in this time, music which I so loved at the time it first came out. It moved me deeply then, and still does now. And Kate St. John is as absolutely adorable and fascinating as a musician now as she was then. Sitting here in Paris all choked up...across the time and space...of decades and continents...
The sound quality in the video leaves a bit to be desired (and I am not slamming the photographer over it...it could very well have been inevitable through no fault of the photographer) , but wow....even through that one can hear the haunting nature of the music, and the vocals are still stirring! I used to think the line: "All the work shut down" was "All the world shook down" and in relation to the previous line about Kennedy, The Beatles and winter 1963. I think I prefer my interpretation and treasured memory from early '85 -so distant yet so alive.
DrRussPhd I’ve seen plenty of shows in Japan, not to worry. The crowds tend to be quiet here out of respect for the artist and to be able to hear the songs in all their detail. Concerts here are the best, especially if you’re a fan of the music over the celebrity.
