Quite interesting and helpful interview. I had avoided this book because of the comparisons between it and "Where the Crawdads Sing." Although the critics disagree with me, I found Owens' book full of "you've gotta be kidding me" moments (when I wasn't skimming). I had to suspend belief one time too many at what the very young child was physically able to accomplish. After listening to this interview, it sounds like the experienced author has done his research, and given his interesting characters the background to survive their journey. I was grateful that there was great audio, no background chatter or music, and no distractions. Sometimes the enthusiastic interviewer tended to divert and spend too much time on her own views, political and scholastic, but she did keep the pace of the interview moving. The author seemed to enjoy the conversation, which flowed more like a genuine conversation instead of stilted questions and answers. I definitely plan to read this book, and his series.
I'm so close to finishing this now! Talk about one capturing Tale here!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best books I've read in years. So glad i read it.
This is the most engaging book I have read in many years. After I finished it I was overcome with emotion. Like I had lost a deep connection.
