    Established in 1958, the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) is one of the most historic and exciting equestrian events in North America. The six-day show includes Olympic-level jumping, top national hunter and equitation events, and community and charity events. More than 500 top horses and riders come to D.C. from all over the globe to jump for more than a half a million dollars in prize money.
    Highlights include the $130,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Washington for the President's Cup, the Puissance high jump competition on Military Night and Kids' Day, a free, fun and educational community event.
    The Washington International Horse Show Association, Ltd. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization based in Washington, DC. WIHS is an official USEF Heritage Competition and is rated CSI4*-W by the Fédération Equestre Internationale, the world governing body for horse sports.
    Since its debut, the Washington International has been a Washington, DC, institution attended by presidents, first ladies, celebrities, business and military leaders, as well as countless horse enthusiasts of all ages. The average annual attendance is 26,300.
