This has got to be the most unhelpful video ever made, although besides treating your customers like they are toddlers with no basic rational sense of how shutting the door could be a first step in starting a machine that throws water, soap and clothes for at least an hour because then it might make a mess..at least you spent plenty of money and effort on your professional video editing and production. After you've done what this clip says, you'll probably look for more advice on YT. The next stop will probably be a suggestion to put twine around the door & pull this. That's fine on machines where you can see the clip when the door is open. On my Haier Intellius that idea fails because 1) there is a pin on the door, 2) there are two pads above & below the pin. The lock is inside the body of the machine so any pulling is more likely to damage the pads or the fixed pin The solution is to 1) disconnect the electricity 2) take off the lid (release the 2 screws under the lid at the back, then pull it off) 3) remove the soap dispenser (pull it forward, depress the clip in the middle and pull it out completely, 4) remove the long metal brace at the top front (take out the screws on either side) 4) take out the 2 screws holding the top front panel down). All this will give you just enough space to reach the internal manual override button. On my machine, this looks like a trigger inside an crescent shaped cover. Press the cover firmly. You may need to wait and hopefully the latch will release.

A good friend of mine is staying with me and her clothes were being held hostage by the machine, on day three she'd had enough and was about take a hammer to it. After a calm discussion and deciding to fix the issue myself, I came here expecting to find absolutely no help from the video but I hoped there was some legend out there, some absolute legend in the comments that might be able to help me and here we are Mr Sickelmore8493!! Thank you for your instructions, I followed it step by step, it took no longer than 10 minutes and her clothes were set free! She's a very happy woman now frocking around the yard. @@ThankyouCity what a pleasure to have helped you out. We, lay people under estimate how clever the designers of these machines are & how quickly technicians will exploit this ignorance. Also, the Haier YT clip treats people like complete morons. With our washing machine, the door lock is an intermittent problem. I thought I'd look at the waste filter. It is hard to pull out - after unscrewing it. Well, I pulled it out, then pushed it back in roughly - only way to get it back in. It leaked furiously yesterday. I think the problem was with a black rubber washer near the screw that may have come out of it's seating or gone off centre with the rough handling. A little trick to watch. I've had problems with things going thru the filter & blocking the waste pump - notably elastic bands. This is a bit more of a diy job,. You just need to be careful when taking the pump apart so that you put it back the same way, but it's a lot cheaper than buying another machine.
