I finally managed to give it a go yesterday. It resulted in an 18lb grass carp, and several mirror/common carp up to around 10lb! My reel broke as I played the grass carp, so I had to pull by hand and rely on my rod to absorb the runs! (Guru a class reel - a screw on the bail arm came out and disappeared!)
Really nice and full of tips and tricks video. Please keep them coming. One question, are you guys still selling the QM1 ready bait band rigs, as they’re impossible to find at the stockists, especially sizes 10 and 12.Thanks
Need a bit advice my local membership has Carp up to 30 pound coming out but there's a lot of thick weed had 2 big carp on but unfortunately both came off due to weed using bomb and pellet rod how do I over come this using strong terminal tackle all guru terminal tackle and rod A class was using a 2oz tip would I need to step up to a 3oz tip the carp are huge they go off like a train to would more pressure on them help any information please
On a recent session i was getting indications on the feeder & hooking the odd ones in bottom lip but missing lots of bites does that mesn fish are up in the water ?
Guys, can you please put on subtitles, like your friends from Korda do? Matt has such a thick accent it's really hard to understand for a foreigner. I'm guessing you're not doing these clips only for UK viewers.
My favourite angler, Matt never fails to brighten my day 🙂

They should be!
Why would you fish the bomb not a method feeder, is that to create noise on the swim and therefore switch to the waggled later?
Is there a better all round angler than Matt Godfrey. I very much doubt it
He certainly is 'Alright' at angling
Matt said he uses a super tight lead stop so you can change the length between the hooklength and the lead do Guru make these?
We do indeed!
Great video mat very helpful and informative 👍
Glad it was helpful!

2oz tip will be fine you need strong line & get the fish under control with that initial run for the weeds .
If youre fishing amongst thick weed then strong tackle is advised, an alternative to this is try to stay away from the big weed beds
Hi Matt , any probs withe Aventus handles? My brand new N Gauge handle sheared off at the thread last week . Not good.
If you could contact Lewis Fensom at Guru and we will help you out!
Does this mean your going to release the balsa Waggler again
On a recent session i was getting indications on the feeder & hooking the odd ones in bottom lip but missing lots of bites does that mesn fish are up in the water ?
like Matt said if and when you feed you get line bites its very likely that the fish are up in the water
I think soft rods like the one you’re using have no control over bigger fish and it takes too long to get them in and over exhausts them.
