  • In this video we are taking my Arturia Minilab Mk2 on a workshop and we're trying to "split" the keyboard so the pads will play drums and the keys will play bass AT THE SAME TIME.
This can be very useful during a live performance when you need to use the same keyboard to play 2 instruments simultaneously.
This will work for most midi keyboards but in particular the ones from Arturia.
We will be diving a bit deeper into how to change Midi Channels within one Midi Controller on the example of Arturia Midi Keyboards.
So if you've ever wondered, can you play Drums and Keys on one Midi Keyboard Simultaneously, this video will be the answer.
And at the end I'm giving a personal Live performance for a very special audience. Stay till the end and see the surprise.

Super nice to hear that, and I'm happy to help. Sure I was struggling to and it took me some trial and error 🤨😅 but great that it's possible. What type of music are you creating?

@@Busiless I've messed around with programs like Bandlab but not real professional stuff like using a Midi and such. Thanks for asking.

@@vibeoinktunes8396 Great. It is a super fun and rewarding journey! I remember that it took me 2 years launching Ableton occasionally like once a month until I realised that I actually want to learn and make music. I wouldn't go back now :) - All the best!!!

Hey man, thank you first of all. But do you know of an app for an android tablet where this can be achieved? I can't figure it out and to me this is a crucial thing to be able to do. Ive tried FL Studio Mobile and Cubasis LE3.

Hi. Unfortunately no idea, it’s quite an advanced thing to achieve especially on a tablet. Also developers don’t usually do the best apps for Android because of the audio drivers and gear inside a tablet/phone that can drastically differ from one to another. But there’s more and more daws on Android so You can possibly try Bandlab or N-track studio. The latter seems to have some more advanced audio routing options. Both should be free or free to try 🤘😎

Hi. well if you have 2 instruments playing simultaneously, there's probably a thing when you have both tracks armed for recording. The red dot under the track mixer. But if it's not what you're talking about, let me know. I'm sure it can be fixed :)
