  • On the 1st of September 2024, I leave Falkenberg in Sweden, heading for Gilleleje in Denmark. At first I am amazed by the calmness of the sea, but than something happens that make the boat dance like a Disco Queen and make me surf the waves.

This channel follows a format: "Join Henk-Jan, whilst he cruises on motorvessel Lady Liselot through The Netherlands and a little further". That's it. This automatically means: no boat tour and no boat jobs. These subjects do not fit the format. So, I aim to give you a feel for what life's like aboard for me and hope you enjoy it, perhaps relate to it or maybe even learn something. But it's simply my story and the way I do things. Nothing more, nothing less.

Jouw boat handling is werkelijk fantastisch.

Höga kusten (High Coast) in Finland and Sweden is a must-see for you! So much natural beauty. And the Kvarken area is very special.
The Åland islands are also nice. Hangö is lovely. And not far away is Estonia with some nice areas to discover.
If you like huge waves, Capbreton is for you.

This explains, why our cowboys don’t get sea sick, they know how to dance the two-step, Henk-Jan! 🇨🇦😂
Thank you for another great video and btw. my espresso tastes twice as good with a Mergpijpies, that’s how my favourite Flying Dutchman changed & irreversibly impacted my life!🤣🤣🤣👍🫶

Great video - amazing docking you made it look easy - im terrified of those type slots when single handing and tend to go for side-in if possible, tack the nose with a spring and then drift the tail in.
BTW. wondering if dropping the CCTV camera videos onto Topaz Video AI app and upscale them to 1080 with detail recovery might bring a bit more information out ?

I have tried several PTZ cams in the last years, but none of them give the image you see on a iPhone of action cam. Each can has file every 30 mins and 1,5Tb (yes) big. I tried converting them to better quality but files are too big.

@@LadyLiselot hmm I work with video professionally - can't say I know a lot about PTZ camera files but that sounds like some kinda windows uncompressed file.1080 is not that big, its only 1080x1920px and looks like a bit less than 30fps. you can grab the large file and drop it on something like handbrake to compress it, I would use a slower process like h.265 which will make a cleaner file convenient for storage as well.
interesting that the file is so big - im guessing that is how the laptop saves this?
because for transport - the camera compression is easy to see - the water is muddy because of motion which means each pixel need to be re-drawn for each frame, but the fine details on the deck is nice and sharp because nothing move between frames. basically its a very agressive compression on the camera side, you might be able to grab THAT file with a card in the camera maybe?
EDIT - don't mind me - just thinking out loud here. we are in similar situations, im on a boat way smaller than you and trying to figure splash proof cameras out as well.
