- Smyrna Airport (MQY) is a joint use, small to medium sized airport located ten miles southeast of the larger Nashville International airport. While predominantly a general aviation facility, it does have a robust Army National guard presence on the field. Smyrna is a Part 139 airport with two intersecting runways. This video prepares pilots for hot spots and common issues at Smyrna Airport.
FAA's From the Flight Deck video series uses cockpit mounted cameras to capture runway and taxiway footage and combines them with diagrams and visual graphics to clearly identify hot spots and other safety-sensitive items. Learn more at www.faa.gov/Fr...
Visit www.faa.gov/mqy for supplemental "pilot handbook" information on this airport including airport-specific cautions, information local controllers want pilots to know, airport communications, airspace details and other preflight planning resources.
This video is informational only and does not replace the pilot’s responsibility to conduct required pre-flight planning in accordance with FAR 91.103.
The 'Nashville Air Show' is here every other year - usually have Blues one year and T-birds the next time.

Good information to learn!
