Fascinating. A must for any, every, fan of both RSC and Shakespeare productions. Some of these are featured on the dvd. Greg Doran is, was, an outstanding production director and artistic director.
Join our Artistic Director Gregory Doran rehearsing his new production of Shakespeare's *Richard II*, through this series of short films. In this first film he explains how he's approaching the play, the design and introduces the cast. #RSCRichardII
I'll be flying from Sydney in January to see the play in London. So glad the Company has such respect for its supporters and for playgoers in general that it will be making these vids as a record of the production unfolding.
I'm from Texas but I'm flying to see Richard II in London in mid-December. I just know it's going to be brilliant. Thanks so much for posting these Production Diaries for all of us!
I'm from Wilmington, Delaware & I'll be flying over to see this brilliant production 2nd week in December!! Soooo very excited to see these great performers live!!! I just love the idea of Production Diaries....very creative & a great use of technology!! Thanks!!
Is this the first time that the RSC has done a production diary for social media? I know that there have been interviews with directors and actors over time, but I can't seem to find a production diary on the scale that the brilliant Gregory Doran suggests there will be. These production diaries alone, will be a fantastic teaching tool. I really hope that there is an entry focusing on the stage managers and their roles! THANK YOU RSC!

I got the very last ticket to see it in January at the Barbican in London. Can't wait. Thanks for posting this very informative video!

Thanks for all the career clips. I am teaching a foundation theatre course and what an excellent introduction those clips provide.
Yes, yes, yes! This is brilliant: informative, intelligent, intriguing. Hurrah!
I'm from Germany and I'll see the play in January. I can't wait! :)
*fingers crossed this play will show in a theater in/near Atlanta, GA*
i'm really excited to see this play; I'm going to be in Indianapolis Dec 18 and it's screening on a local theatre there :)
So looking forward to seeing this at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute in Pennsylvania.
these "production diary" videos are very interesting. I'm using them to write my master thesis on "Richard II"
Thank you Mr. Doran...The only way we will see this in the U.S. is here.
So disappointed that no theater in Austin, TX has picked it up. I will have to travel to Dallas to see an encore showing.
brillante
Please, film the play, I live in Mexico there's no way I can go to the theater.
Julia, our hope is that the broadcast will be shown in a number of Russian cities - watch the website for further details.
I believe that this is the first live broadcast they've done which could be why they haven't, something to big up.
Yes, thank you.
Anyway, I live in Russia and never see this play. I'll never see these actors...
