It’s a floor polisher Ryan 😂 My parents had one in the early 60’s It has two rotating brushes underneath and you clip on two lambswool discs for the final polish
Ohhh, I loved looking through that cluttered shop! So many things to see plus I especially liked the cobwebs on the spooky doll. 😂 There were several chairs and mirrors that would be hard to pass up. Thanks for taking us along. 🎉
This shop could be very nice with a new roof and a good cleaning plus some staging of the furniture pieces. Some people are more likely to buy if you show them how it could look in their homes.
The Mors automobile factory was an early French car manufacturer. It was one of the first to take part in automobile racing, beginning in 1897. That gadget you showed is a polisher maybe for floors.
I’ve found some great things in shops like that. But it is sad to see, lots of good things not being shown to their full potential. I never get tired of watching these antique store trips.
Ryan,Billy the façade of the outside of the building is beautiful. Inside is another story. The roof looks ready to cave in. I love going antique shopping with you guys. Your bromance is beautiful. See ya tomorrow. Take care and stay safe 🍺❤️🎈🌈🌹😇🕊🇺🇸👍🙏🌞
That antique shop was FULL of Treasures! Such a shame that so many of them are in peril due to the damaged roof. Hope you take us there again, Ryan. Hope you bought the copper pot! Best wishes, Patricia P.S. Thanks to Billy for the respectful way he treated the stole (pronounced "stola") vestment. It is quited small though. Maybe for an altar boy!?
@@paulinehoban1408 Thank you, Pauline, for this info. It is true that I have never seen an altar boy wear such a vestment. It is good to know this. Patricia
@@paulinehoban1408 It's too large to be a maniple (for over the wrist), and as it is tailored to drape oner the shoulders it can only be a stole, however small. Gorgeous, too!
Chateau De La Fleurt (my bad spelling) they need those flat crystals 7:17 off the chandelier for their salon. Let Carole know where that is, she'll be round to get it if the price is right. The spinning wheel caught my eye. Great Video, thank you Ryan :)
Yep. Floor polished. My mother had one. And the trunk you found that was on its side was actually a chest. Very possibly made of cedar wood inside. I have one, but with different carvings, that my mother in law gave me as a glory box. I use it as a blanket box.
Love riding along with you two and Billy's expressions, what a hoot, you must have a blast together...those domes were amazing... but no taxidermy...thankfully...I do like shops like this, the charms of cobwebs, falling plaster and dead bugs...ahhh, the antiquing quest...
Nice to see a mid week vlog, Ryan! I would've bought that copper pot and sold it to Sean for a profit...haha! Previous commenter was correct, Carole at Chateau de la Ferte is looking for chandelier crystals similar to those on that gorgeous chandelier! I would've bought it and sold it to HER! LOL jk 😉😆
I am betting that you got the copper pot. That was beautiful. The antique store looks like a lot of fun, but you’re absolutely right Ryan. Not only does it need restoration in the worst way and in a hurry, but it needs a revamp inside. They would probably sell more. Too bad. Their prices must be good though, yes? Can’t wait till tomorrow to see what you got. Sending love from California💜🤟🏻😎🇺🇸
Omg Adrian & Carol are looking for those exact crystals they had missing on one of their’s! @ Chatsau de la Ferte’! Love from the Berkshire’s/New England Massachusetts!🫶🏻💕 least I think so anyways lol
Okay Ryan, it’s a floor scrubbing machine. Say you have tiled floors that need a good scrub, put down Ajax (cleaning powder) scrub then wash over with a mop….also if you get the lambs wool pads they polish after you wax the kitchen floor…hope I explained it alright…
Hi Ryan. Will you have enough room in your office for a comfy leather chair and a neat trunk to hold a napping pillow and blanket? I like the ideal of modern office furniture mixed with old things. Could you squeeze in a shelf unit with business on the bottom and the top two shelfs for display such as hats and other interesting bits? Add an antique mirror with some modern art or posters to contrast!
Ryan, I was hoping that you bought the copper stock pot, after all it's in perfect condition and at 55.€ a bargain. The floor polisher is probably from the 50's that is the thing you didn't know what it was.
Good lord it looked like you two were the first to step into that shop in 50 years with all the cobwebs on stuff! You’re right, it doesn’t make sense that some of these places look so junky! I would have bought that magazine/booklet/leaflet from 1919. It was actually in really good condition and probably would have had some great vintage pages/ads to frame. ❤️🇨🇦
YES! I agree with Billy. It looks like you need a bath after you go into that shop. I am glad it was you all going in and not me. I can just smell the dust and damp. ICK
Lots of little treasures But OMG those dolls and mannequins are beyond creepy and honestly the whole time you were in there I was just imagining how many spiders and mice are in there 😳 It wouldn't put me off though.. It would have to be a high speed tour and a good amount of wet wipes available in the car..😜
Oh Ryan you are funny, the Brocante was falling down! and your right it is! Got some good stuff though I loved the ships trunk for 100 hundred euros and the copper pan, the Mors machine is a floor polisher, I agree with you on clearing the floor space and making some of these Brocantes tidier, it does make it hard to see all they have, great video, love love love you and Billy, xxxxxxxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Right before you spotted the crystal chandelier I saw a wooden chandelier that looked similar to one Philipp on How to renovate a Chateau wired to use in his office. Very interesting.
Yes, the antique shop needs cleaning and roof repairs. But it's still a nice antique shop and I would go there if I could. So, I have to settle for the antique shops in south Florida!🥰
I hope you purchased that beautiful copper pot. The antique shop needs a good cleaning and repairs to the roof. Love the vlogs. Always entertaining. Connie from Texas
Hiya Ryan I believe that it is an old floor polisher. Oh I had same thoughts re the shop. See you later for the found treasures. Blessings luv Ontario Canada Thankyou 🐝🇨🇦
Quite a lot of treasures in there, sadly the roof has been left to decay, a dangerous health hazard for sure. Nice video though, I enjoyed it very much so thank you 💕🇦🇺
Hi Ryan, please tell Billy, that liturgical vestment in the brocante is not for the head but is worn on the left arm. I remember this from my days as an altar boy in the Catholic Church. According to Wikipedia, it is called "a maniple" and is "...used primarily within the Catholic Church and occasionally used by some Anglo-Catholic and Lutheran clergy. It is of the same liturgical colour as the other Mass vestments." This particular vestment was violet which means it was used during Advent, Lent, for Funeral Masses and All Souls Day among others. Cheers! Chuck
That seems to be a spider emporium , everything covered in webbing . Looks as though nothing's ever even touched or dusted until its purchased . Has the look of an abandoned warehouse . That ceiling has been leaking for a long time so I have to wonder if many of the water sensitive items might have damage . 🤔
Oh my, I have the exact trunk...the wooden one that you mentioned as being "bare wood"...it has straps on it. Mine came from England when my grandfather emigrated here to Canada. Happy to see you and Billy made it out of that place without the roof falling in on you!
Visesh is a Lovely Town! I still adore the treasure hunting. Darling, you simply get everything you want, regardless…henceforth…supporting…The Keeper of The Brocante! Voile! ❤
Hi Ryan, I remember you going there with Billy a long time ago. It doesn't seem to have changed much, but I'm glad you both found something worth buying.
I love the exterior of the antique store but it doesn’t look hopeful on the inside. I’m glad you were able to find some treasures. It’s a shame how so many of the items are just tossed into piles. I hate to think of the possible critters running around amongst those piles. Fun vlog. xx
I've always preferred dusty cluttered antique shops, the prices are usually better and there's a feeling you might find that one spectacular buy! That being said, this shop is in pretty sad condition. I'd probably be looking over everything for mold and water damage.
I miss seeing you Ryan, Your behind the camera now , I miss your sense of humor and the excited you,I love what you do for billy but I hope you still do your own vlogs, with uncle Lee and family
Yeah have been in a few antique shops like that, some you can't really walk in because the space is limited. However they are usually the kind of shops you get awesome deals in and find elusive pieces. It's fun to rummage in places like that. Can't wait to see what you bought.
Billy needs to purchase the room full of antiques where the roof is falling and sell all the things he doesn't need or want for the chateau or the convent. Bish bash bosh, problem solved!
It is places like that you can find a treasure or two! But geez with the building in that state nothing in it is going to be kept well. I’d want to tear it up and see if any treasures underneath the junk. These at least will be more preserved by all the junk on top of them🤣🤣. If not forgotten about.
It's lovely to go shopping with you two guys. I had one of these floor polishers back in the day. They were quite powerful and could scoot off on a tangent like they had a mind of their own and it would be hard to wrestle with it to stop it before it flew into the wall or cupboard..they were quite heavy. I got rid of it and got some chiropractic treatments!
The upright machine you questioned about is a floor polisher. There were two "pads" on the bottom that rotate and polish tile or linoleum floors. The "trumpets" you saw were not trumpets, they were bugles.
Yes like everybody says, it is a floor polisher. My mother in South Africa also had one but . . . . what nobody mentioned is the the elbow grease part. You had to spend some time on your knees to first apply the floor polish before the polisher could do its job!
That shop bordered on being a hoard! However, I'm sure it's fun to poke around and see what you can find. I hope you bought that wonderful copper pot! That looked like a floor polisher to me.
You are a teaser! I wondered if th the truck with the ship detailing on it is one of those that with the compartments that are so interesting. A lot of wardrobes/ armoires that seem to be nice but you can’t get to them. A good clean and then have enough sales to fix the roof. I do like their mannigans, they were so characterized.
Love to see you both at the brocante. That roof looked pretty dangerous. A shame at how cluttered it was. Needs a good cleanup and organizing. I think you bought some copper ??
It is pretty messy. The cobwebs are definitely a turn off.I don't think I would go in a place like that. Can't wait to see what you guys bought.Take care.
Regarding the black wooden trunk: It is most likely a dowry trunk (Aussteuertruhe in German). We have several such trunks in the family and the one from my great grandaunt has Asian motives like the one shown. They are usually very robust for transport and often have wooden separators for multiple layers in them.
My family had the wooden shoes my ancestor wore when he came to the USA. There were burn marks inside them. The story was that they put coals in the shoes then dumped the coals out and the shoes would keep their feet warm.
It’s a floor polisher Ryan 😂 My parents had one in the early 60’s It has two rotating brushes underneath and you clip on two lambswool discs for the final polish
My parents had one too at the same time.
I've used one at work with 3 brushes on that was only about five years ago used to use it on a big rustic dining table
We had one too, it was green and came with many pairs of pads and buffers for cleaning and polishing the floors
Yup! My Dad had one too. I grew up in Canada but my parents were Scottish. I guess it was a popular product in lots of countries!
I polished all of our wooden floors to keep them shiny and unscratched with a contraption that you were asking about.
Can you imagine if someone wanted to purchase one of those huge wardrobes at the back of that shop? It would months to dig it out. 😂
I really enjoy your videos, Ryan. I’ve just subscribed to your channel 😊 And that “Mors” apparatus is a floor polisher.
Wow Ryan, two videos made and editing today, thumbs up man.
Ohhh, I loved looking through that cluttered shop! So many things to see plus I especially liked the cobwebs on the spooky doll. 😂 There were several chairs and mirrors that would be hard to pass up. Thanks for taking us along. 🎉
The shop looked like a good place to hunt for treasure. I sure hope you bought the large copper pan and lid. I thought that was very nice.
It is a floor buffer. It does look a bit shabby. Lovely to see a video before the weekend. Hugs
Hi Ryan 👋 your looking good, thanks for another great video , can't wait to see what you have brought 😀 😊
What a lovely surprise to get a video from you in the week 😁

Chateau de la Ferte, oooo good point! I would've bought that chandelier, it's gorgeous!
Hopefully Carole follows Ryan, she will snatch that chandelier up in a second. The crystals looked about the size she is looking for.
Hopefully you bought the big copper stock pot. I use pots that size to make big batches of soups and spaghetti sauce that I can divide up and freeze.
Nice surprise seeing you on a Wednesday 😊
Yep. Floor polished. My mother had one. And the trunk you found that was on its side was actually a chest. Very possibly made of cedar wood inside. I have one, but with different carvings, that my mother in law gave me as a glory box. I use it as a blanket box.
They don’t make copper mate, they mine it. Then it’s made in to cookware. 😂

I can’t imagine the antiques that are being destroyed under that ceiling and roof! It’s really giving me anxiety!

I loved the shop. Didn't Billy need a well pump for the convent- the well that he recently found?
Hope you and billy feel better soonxx a lot of people have got it

We have several such trunks in the family and the one from my great grandaunt has Asian motives like the one shown. That is a floor polisher for applying solid wax on wood floors. Should have to round soft brushes (spreading the wax) and two cotton pads(buffing)
Ryan, my father used the ole tins for keeping good screws etc. He had several saved tins over years or they don't make them like they used too!
Ryan I believe the machine you were looking at is a "floor polisher"
Ryan bought clogs, and Billy bought the huge copper pot.
My family had the wooden shoes my ancestor wore when he came to the USA. There were burn marks inside them. The story was that they put coals in the shoes then dumped the coals out and the shoes would keep their feet warm.
Ryan, I liked the spinning wheel and the flax wheel next to it, was wondering how much they were?? in the cluttered store.
Question Ryan, when will you begin renovating one of the apartments at the convent for yourself?
Mors we’re old vacuum’s and floor cleaners. Not sure which that was but looked like a wood floor either vac or polisher!
Noooo…don’t make us wait 😂
