It's just so strange. Been watching your video's for a couple of years now. These kind of video's, I don't know, they make me relax in a way that no other youtuber can do with his/her vids. Maybe it's because feels quite personal, like a friend sharing a story. Really love that you bring us another one of these on your channel. Keep it up man.
These videos are so boring... yet somehow really imteresting, you are childish, but at the same time deeper than a philosopher. You remember, when you were a kid, and you were just introduced to a world that is about to change, and change extremely rapidly? The new space age, the iss, all the new researches, computers and stuff... and those informative books, with THAT one color scheme. Like it was made a hundred years ago, but also just yesterday, telling about the world to a young child. How our world is about to change. Like a cartoon, with an iconic background, i don't even know how could i describe it. Nostalgia is an understatement for what i feel when i look back to those days. Especially those books. I will be honest with you. I only cried twice in my adult life. Once, when my mother passed away, and once, when i found one of those books. Just impossible to describe the feeling. Your videos, especially this one, for some gond knows why reason, remids me of those days. Not the days, actucally, rather the feeling. Maybe it's the music, maybe your voice? I have no clue, but it just hits right there. I wish i was native englis, so i could describe it correctly, if it is even possible, but i am more than sure someone out there, maybe even you, Phil, understands this.
Phillip I just love you and your channel you are so good at what you do.often I find myself watching 2 year or older video's of yours you are that good.
Philip, I'm exactly the same way when it comes to heights. The whole reason behind that little bit of fear is to keep you sharp so you don't accidentally let yourself die. I'd be more worried about someone who isn't at least a little bit afraid, because those types of the people are the ones who cause accidents.
Hey Philip, if you enjoyed the lake district, maybe you'll like Snowdonia, I recommend walking up Tryfan mountain, and perhaps exploring the disused Dinorwig slate quarries. You can also go to Zip-world, where you can zip line through slate quarries, or inside old caverns. I'm happy to answer any questions about the place.
Damn, reminds me of when me and my friends spontaneously decided to climb Ben Lomond on a school trip to Scotland. Just 5 of us and it had rained, so that everything was covered in slippery mud. It was also pitch dark by the time we climbed back down, which was terrifying at times. We barely saw anything, we slipped multiple times because of the at times completely liquid mud and we probably could have died or at least broken multiple bones considering there were 60+ meter drops less than a meter next to us and they were filled with rocks. It was still enjoyable though ^^
Philip! You should come down here to Devon and try hiking Dartmoor, it's a beautiful national park just like the Lake District, full of ancient monuments that have remained where they were built many hundred years ago! There aren't really any mountains, mostly just very tall hills, but you can find some very pretty things there, such as the abandoned quarry which is now a lake --- it even has its own waterfall now!
Slate is so terrifying to walk on when climbing a mountain. Even when you're at a tiny slope the stuff manages to slip away under you and you trip just enough to absolutely terrify yourself.
I love those kind of videos of yours, I'd probably not bother to watch other videos about people's holidays, but when you're talking about it it's always enjoyable. Also you don't just go to a five star hotel and do nothing except buying expensive things like other UA-camrs would do.
I really do enjoy these kind of personal videos, your juggling series got me into juggling for example, something I'd have never tried if it wasn't for them. There's bound to be some people who don't enjoy these as much as your other content but they can just scoop over to 2kliks- or 3kliksphilip. Glad you enjoyed your holiday! If you ever need another few mountains to climb, I recommend saxon switzerland for some beautiful scenery and castles!
Kliks, I totally get the feeling of tires about come off of the pavement and the car rolling backwards. When I was in the western slope driving around, I felt that my FJ cruiser was about to roll at anytime. I have an inclinometer on the dash that was alerting me of incline danger for a lifted vehicle like mine. Good thing FJs have serious suspension travel, and are a heavy vehicle. If I wasn't in that type of truck I would have definitely rolled.
the fact that england's mountains have no trees makes such big difference, here in america you climb through tons of trees until you either find a gap to look out of or get above the tree line, never climbed a nearly totally bald mountain, but it seems like it makes a big difference in the "feel" of the hike. it also probably bakes you, no shade sounds like a pain in the butt lol.
I've walked across striding edge and up scafell pike a few times before and it's generally how you say it is, walking along sheer drops rather than gradual drops really makes you want to sit and crawl and scafell is really hard to sit down on to eat your sandwich when its just rocks
For Americans who think England is all of Britain. These mountains aren't the tallest on the island. Ben Nevis is at 1345m. This is in Scotland which has lots of high mountains(munros) over 3000ft. Wales also includes Snowdonia which is full of larger mountains.
Fairfield Horseshoe is a bit of a long slog full of false horizons which makes it seem worse too. It looks like you're almost at the top, and then there's another hill... You chose better this time around, Heading up Scafell Pike from Wastwater is better too, getting the view over Wastwater at the start makes the drive worth it. If you come back you'd probably like Haystacks and Fleetwith Pike
I love mountains. I hope to see mount fuji one day in person. This area looks beautiful, im glad you appreciate mountains as well as csgo which are both of my favorite things in life

Philip, the route you took at the beginning is the same route I took on my Duke of Edinburgh a few weeks ago. It's really cool to see you went there as well. I also agree, that mountain was nasty.

6:35 that reminds me of northern Norway. I've visited Nordkapp/northern Norway multiple times across the Finnish border and it has cool hills and mountains, steppes, fields and blue lakes just like there!
i went for a short holiday a couple months ago there and climbed the langdale pikes, was a nice challenge until the rain started to hit pretty hard as soon as we started climbing down, felt like someone changed the server to hardcore mode midway through. shame i didnt get a chance to run into you there, but the lake district was pretty nice anyways

Good thing you didn't climb these with 100+ Ping.
I know this is a joke, but fun fact: technically most humans live with about 250 ping on average. (The ping being your visual reaction time.)
