hy , daiwa ninja feeder combo is amazing and goes around 100euros. Also the new shimano Aero BB reel for feeder has a decent price and round clip. i enjoy your videos a lot, keep it up!

A tip might be to use a bank stick to hold down your unhooking mat then put your landing net handle on the bank stick . This also means less bending to pick up landing net !

I'm always too standing on net handles. And always replacing. So I'm not going to pay a fortune but replace with the same one (nor stamping proof!!)
THE SENSAS ALLIGATOR 3M handle £12.99 from an online retailer in Leeds.
Friends can't believe have light an usable they are. Always buying another after stepping heavily on the poor things. No point paying a fortune and then taking a walk on it. Especially when rushing in the rain to pack up and get home.
I mta h fish for a local club. Others have bought the same.
So I reckon it's would be a great net handle for amy angler for the price. Would complement the price of these rods. Great, well made, never had problem with them even when I've had a couple of years in horrendous weather. Qualities good! But not stamp proof👍😅

Hiya buddy, another great video, and a nice idea. Some people would pay this or more for absolutely unusable and easily breakable rods and reels. Which is a shame as can put people off fishing straight away. But what you have chosen are a great rod and a decent reel. Should last a very decent length of time too. So as I said great idea Westy!
I actually have a couple of 10ft X5 feeder rods, about £150 each. BUT...I have bought the X1 10ft rod too. It actually for method feeder fishing, in my opinion is superior. So it's not always you get what you pay for . The X5 rods are great. But for out and out method fishing and a third of the price. The X1 is great rod to buy. Would say to anyone. For a rod in this price bracket, in comparison to other comparison brands. This is a winner. And yes. I've got one of those reels for my son, the sienna. It's great! Very good line clip. Wouldn't expect this on a reel this price. And the drag I'd great. Very good choice to recommend to your viewers buddy. Both items work very well. And will last too. Sorry to jabber on 😅. But great combo you've chosen there!
And thanyou again for the great video. Great idea!!!

Just one other point. The rod is also fine for bream. Lots of backbone, but a lovely soft top action. You won't bump many skimmers with the X1. So regarding previous comment. Just like to say it's really a great all round rod. And my son has never had a problem with the sienna. I.e. line going around the back and underneath. And for the price. A great drag. With is in my opinion, the proof of a decent reel.
I dont think you could have chosen a better combo for someone wanting to maybe upgrade a little. Or a newcomer to the sport. Very usable and should last too.👍.
And thanyou again! Love the videos. Not only showing new anglers they can have gear that's completely functional, does the job well, looks the part too....very smart looking...and affordable. And the other videos showing how to set up, and that BAIT also doe snot have to cost a fortune either. And will still catch plenty of fish as you have proven many times on your videos. Great videos for anyone starting out , with the how to do sections. But also really great just to chill out and watch.
Sorry matey. Go on a bit eh👍😅. But hat you do with your videos hopefully will get a few more people confident to get out there and enjoy all the many benefits of this great hobby/sport of fishing.

Nice video mate. That roach was a belter.
The fish I had off the doughnut lake were all in good Nick. I think certain anglers need lessons in fish care instead of ripping their faces off but that’s the match fishing mentality where they yank them in as fast as they can.
I thought it was a nice fishery, even better a cracking pub and food at the Legh Arms back towards the A565.

Well you wait ages for a bus then two come along at the same time lol, great vid Westy looks a very good Rod for the money along with the reel, I fish the bomb at this time of year get the feed in over the top, but it is less feed than a method feeder, fish been fed heavy through summer so not taking as much now, tight lines mate.

Enjoying the channel mate. I have the exact same Aero x1 and it has done me proud over the years. Had plenty of decent carp up to 10 lbs on it. Why do you use swivels instead of the ICS quick change beads?

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Рік тому

Great information for people there Ryan ! Glad the rod has held up long term, you can’t go wrong with Shimano can you ! I find the ics quick beads are not as firm in the bottom of the feeder, they don’t last long and they are pretty hard to get hold of at the moment. The swivels are firm in the feeder but still come out on the take! Im definitely not against the QC beads though, I did used to use them 👌🏻👍🏻

    • @ryrobbo
