    At around 7:33 you explain that you can't interact with 3D widgets like you can a normal 2D widget and that you need to use a Widget Interaction component. This is incorrect, on the Widget component there is a boolean in the Interaction category called "Receive Hardware Input" that enables you to interact with and click on 3D widgets without needing a widget interaction component.
    The widget interaction component is only strictly necessary in the absence of a mouse - like when using VR controllers to interact with 3D widgets.

      @@AntlerStudiosAwesome. I guess I'd like to know some more about how you shaped foliage to get the look you were going for while also keeping the poly count low. Was there any specific lording issues you faced? Color variations etc that you needed to correct with lods?

    Hi there! So I followed your other tutorial that makes the clipboard UI. However, I don't know how to spawn and de-spawn this when pressing my interaction key (I'm using a 3rd and 1st person camera). How would you do that?

  • @necrago

    You should make all ui dynamic, including quest intel

    Cldnt u superimpose the 2d ui over the 3d ui
    To activate simultaneously to give same look as a full 3d ui?

    Looks cool but doesn't make sense why you would open a book to access your inventory? Maybe i'm just missing the bigger picture here

    • @AntlerStudios
      @AntlerStudios  3 роки тому

      Thanks :D So the book is more of a codex - it has both gameplay info and lore. You'd open it up to read about quests, info on the area, what items you have to make potions (like a recipe book), potion recipes, etc etc. Often that info would be on a 2D screen, though we could have the character going into a rucksack to observe items we thought it makes sense to keep all info in the same place to make it easier for the player!
      We really want the book to feel like a codex - all info in one place. Almost like Edric's (main character) diary :) Also you can only interact with the items in your inventory once you're at your laboratory, so we never felt the need for a rucksack.
      Does that kinda make more sense, or do you reckon having a rucksack would be better in this instance? Can see the pros and cons for both!

    • @sickphukka384
      @sickphukka384 3 роки тому

      @@AntlerStudios I love the book idea. It would be awesome to see a inventory icon that's clickable and the player put the book away then open up a bag with animations. A page animation and sound would be cool for when you change tabs.

    Too bad it is so small that it makes the nodes unreadable, and the fact of overflow which is already built does not help much to the understanding of the functioning of the mechanics .. too bad, otherwise it looks like a good tutorial
